book 2 Ch. 4 Forging Alliances and Future Hunts

It was another early morning. She has long since been used to it as she passed her brother's old room. What once was filled with herbs was now redone in a more feminine, simple style as Nina took over their brother Wolf's old room. She wanted to keep it all the same in the memory of their brother, but they needed the herbs for his shop, so it was now more bare.

When looking inside the room, Nina was curled in bed, probably dreaming of pouncing on their brother, which made her smile.

She was going to let her sleep despite choosing an early start it as she wanted to start breakfast; it seems her mother beat her to the kitchen already quietly already making breakfast.

“Mom, “she said in a low voice to keep quiet for the others, though Dad would wake soon, regardless.

“Daughter, “she smiled back at her, full of warmth.

She looked better now since the cure, she was much more full of life. Well, she was always full of life, but the removal of the sickness made her enjoy it even more. They were quietly both working getting breakfast going but somewhere along the way mom broke the serene scene.

“Are you going to see your brother today?” Mom asked

“Yea, I will, but Coby is still away, on his hunts, but I’m hopeful we can still do some without him,” that caused her mother to pause briefly before replying

“Must you hunt those things? “Voice filled with concern from mom

She breathed out slowly. This wasn't the first time Mom was against her fighting monsters. The pains of what happened to their brother still lingered.

  “Mom…” she said calmly

“I’m not my brother. I have power,”

“To heal, daughter, not to hurt.”

  “I can do both…”

“And I won’t be alone. Nina and Arlin will be with me…”

“You already ran before in a dungeon. Who to say next time you can’t…” mom said, full of worry

She was referring to the one beast…. Even now, she feared facing it, but knew things with it were unresolved. What happened to the remaining beast in those worlds?

“You and Dad handle everything fine in the shop without me, “ she started explaining

“This is me growing up like my brother. “

“I still want help and to be with the family…But I want to adventure.”

“I’m working on getting gear. Also, Ziala, a friend from the guild, is trying to help too. I will go from there. "

“I won’t make reckless choices, promise, ok?” Mom wasn't convinced by the look in her eyes, but she let it go. This wasn’t the first time they had this talk, but neither wanted it to turn into an actual fight…

A yawn in the distance made her smile, followed by a voice. “It's too early…” Nina said, more sleepwalking than awake.

"Then sleep," Leena said mildly, mockingly, smiling.

“Noooo I need help you and brother …” she said it sadly as if she was forced but wanted to do the right thing, which made Leena laugh and mother chide her as they finish breakfast for the family.

It was a good meal as each went about starting their day.

Nina went with Leena to visit Wolf also and bring a small meal basket, as they were worried he wasn't eating.

They also wanted to let him know their long-term plans while mom spent time with dad at the shop, with Nebo also was their handling the trades.

They made good time reaching their brother's new home. The shop was still closed, which was no surprise, though it was a mild surprise to see people gather and linger in hopes it would open before wandering off.

Knock knock “brother it us are you awake?”

Nina was bouncing up and down wanting to burst in but she refused to let her enter... brother was an adult with his own home now we respect that peace, she thought.

The door slowly opened with a flustered-looking brother, which surprised her. Why was he acting nervous around the family? “Hey sis, uh sisters,” he clarified when he saw Nina, who barreled past her into wolf.

“Don’t be shy brother we brought you food!” but as she entered following Nina she smelled food that had been prepared she knew brother never tried to cook yet it smelled like a nice meal… she narrow her eyes “brother” a simple word but he knew its meaning even Nina was looking around suspicious.

Both were surprised to hear a drawn-out sigh.

“look like the cat out the bag” Teva, who was hiding in the kitchen, came out dress in a simple dress and apron “I stop by early to surprise wolf with breakfast,” she looked away.

” I would've liked to stay instead and wake up and do it…” she said, longing.

“But that felt a little too soon,” she shrugged and went back to making the meal she started. That caused Leena to gasp and Nina to glare even more daggers and bit flames in her eyes. She did not think things with wolf would move that quickly...

She looked at her brother. He panicked and spoke quickly. “Nothing happened. We are dating, but nothing more!”

That got a gasp from her once more, and Nina too! He smacked his head and Teva giggled enjoying the game of it. She was a bit conflicted. She was happy for her brother, but wasn't sure how she felt with things moving so quickly. Nina wasn't so quiet….

“I don’t like it…” Nina said almost as if to challenge Teva, whose ears went flat and replied, “It's not your approval I need, I have Wolfs."

" And that good enough for me. “she turn and went back to finish the meal, they interrupted once more…

Wolf, watching Nina glare in disapproval, spoke his view. “Nina… I love you as a sister, but this is my life.”

“And Teva is a part of it.” He looked defiant, but still conflicted. She knew he did not want to take sides, so she tried to calm the mood. “It's fine, brother. “

“Just a bit of a surprise for us.”

“I assume it happened recently and not a month-long secret?” she wanted to know how much of a secret it was, as she felt a bit betrayed finding out like this. Vs a normal family talk, Teva chimes in from the kitchen.

“About three months, really,” she said casually, tail swishing

  “WHAT!” Nina screamed in shock

“No…” Wolf tried to get control. “A couple of days... “

“We agreed at the new cake shop that maybe to try dating…” he rubbed his head, annoyed he had to explain anything

“I WANTED TO GO,” Nina was still yelling and acting a bit childish,

“then go?” Teva said passively from the kitchen, self-insured her place in Wolf's life, and not budging from that spot, she felt she earned…

Nina was getting worked up, so once more I tried to calm the fire… " Nina Wolf is free to date.”

“And as his sisters, we must show support, not jealousy …”

“We can go another time together to the cake shop, ok? “Nina wasn't happy but relented, knowing she was a bit childish. “whatever “she said, still miffed.

Leena wasn't sure what to do with the food they brought.

It could still be fresh enough for the next day, as it was a simple meal of loaves of bread of fruit, so she opted to give it as a gift, maybe for them to eat later.

It seems uncle plan a head with the furniture with a table with four chairs, so that was nice for them as they were all able to sit.

Though Nina nor her where hungry having just ate at home, they still join them for the meal with a drink it was his berry mix and tasty as if fresh made wolf saw her smile and he smiled in turn “I made that today with magic glad you like it “he said with a bit of pride surprising her.

“Magic? Why?” She thought it was an odd and trivial use for such a gift.

  He shrugged. “Why not?”

“I enjoy trying to push my gift where I can, and it helps me focus,” he said. She did not mean to offend him and wanted to clarify such, but Nina beat her to it... “I like it, brother, it was delicious. “

She relented and settled for saying, "Yes, brother, it's very good."

Teva was beaming with pride having cooked for wolf and he was looking a fool, just as happy with her attention... it was charming.

Nina even forgot to scowl and was enjoying the moment as a family when

  KNOCK KNOCK

Odd, she thought, who else would visit her brother so early? Wolf saw her look, and she knew her face matched his in the uncertainty. Even Teva was worried, though Nina was wagging her tail, happy with her juice.

He got up to see who it was, and a voice came from beyond the entrance when he answered the door. Though they could not see him, they knew the voice well enough, it was Arlin.

“Wolf buddy, glad I caught you early before anyone else. "

“I have a message for your sister, but I don’t want to bug her at home. “

“You know how rude it is to barge in unannounced early morning. “

“So I went to my friend's house, I knew wasn't busy with his shop closed, so I knew you would be free to ask!”

“If you could let her know for me, I might have her a weapon and shield. "

“But still got work out the detail so fingers crossed” he casually threw all that info out full of pride when he sniffed the air “you cook?”

“That's great! I’m starved. Spare me some grub, would ya?”

  “We are friends, right? “

even as he said that, he faded slightly as a shadow to pass wolf and let himself in and froze...

When three sets of eyes watched him calmly as he stayed frozen, assuming Wolf was alone... Wolf could finally speak, said calmly

“I don’t mind, but Teva made me breakfast. It's her call if she wants to share…”

“It’s fine, Wolf, he's a friend and I don’t mind sharing long as it's not sharing you!” Wolf blushed at that.

But Arlin was too mortified that not once but twice, he ended up close to Leena and in a awkward way...

Yet she was very much curious what he had to say, so she watched him, waiting for more info, and he just looked stuck?

Wolf was annoyed his private moment was not private anymore, but a family event took his meal to the kitchen, washed his plate, and said he was going to work in his alchemy shop.

Teva happily rushed to follow Nina, not wanting to be left out, and rushed to follow, leaving her alone with Arlin standing while she waited at the table…

“Well? Are you going to eat? “she asked, wondering why he just stood there.

He looked like he had lost his appetite, which made her a bit sad. She wanted Wolf's friend to enjoy his visit, but it seemed Wolf disregarded his friend. Maybe that was why he was bitter?

"I promise I'll talk to him later," she said, consoling him. He looked up, unsure. "Um... what?”

“Wolf… my brother should not just ignore you. That was rude,” she said to assure him she was on his side.

“I’ll let him know to respect his friends more,” he nodded slowly

“Yea that it…” he replied as he casually went to the table, still full with an assortment of food, and casually picked a few items.

She watched, amused, as if he were afraid to take anything. “Brother won't mind. He enjoys sharing, and the juice is good. "

He was grimacing, but move little more confidently sat and ate. There was a bit of tension in the air coming off him and she wasn't sure why he always seem to flip-flop at the oddest times...

She wanted to give him time to enjoy his meal, but he was eating too slow and she did not want to be rude and leave him alone so just asked, “you had news for me?”

She was hopeful, and he was helping her.

He seemed to regain little confidence at that moment and cleared his mouth and said, “Yeah, I did, but nothing is set in stone.”

“O and uh… the people talk funny, and might be a little pushy,” he added as an afterthought.

“But mom told me it is top-tier gear. Best of the best, it's why it costs more than we can afford. “

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

She did not understand she had savings? Till he said few prices he saw and she stiffen even saving that was not what she expected and she now shared his sour mood which seem to depress him, so she tried to console him.

  “Thank you really,”

“It's just I cannot be sure how I can make it work…” she said while lost in thought.

He helped till now, and she feared this adventure was ending long before it started.

With anything more she asked of him would be too much. To her surprise, he got that look of pride and determination again, that random swing of mood always threw her off…

“I have a plan, trust me, “he said boldly.

“The shopkeeper talked about needing supplies from dungeons and monsters. “

“Well, their been an influx of monsters near here, and we were going to do dungeons, anyway. It was a win-win!” he smiled as he made that bold statement.

But for her, it was just more confusion. Even if they killed both inside and outside the dungeon, it did not mean they got anything of value, much less to the same level of value the items asked to take…

She looked at her hand, the soft glow appearing on her desire...

The warmth a comfort of it is everlasting light, she stop glowing like a mage light at night since she learn to feel the flow better...

But still, it was a comfort. She sometimes wrapped herself in it anyway just for the warmth…

“Ok thank you Arlin, it means a lot” she smiled to assure him he was a trusted friend and saw him blush before she could think much about it she heard yelling from Nina and Teva...

It seems their little truce was short-lived, and they found reason to bicker instead….

“Can we go now? Hoping to break up Nina and Teva and begin her new adventure, she asked Arlin.

He grimaced. “no she closed to late noon,” she now grimaced. That was a long wait to keep Nina calm and would ruin half of wolfs day...

She opted instead to explore a bit to kill time and let her brother have time with his new girlfriend...

She hoped she would get a chance to learn more later but would give their love needed time to mature vs adding conflict. “NINA, “she shouted down the hall, “WHAT? “A angry voice shouted back, not happy with the turn of events…

She got up to stop the shouting match as it bothered her to yell.

In the hall she found Nina waiting for a reply, tail swishing ear down, looking for a fight and the same from Teva with wolf rubbing his faces near his alchemy room's door.

“Nina... wolf had a day planned already. Let's give them space,” she tried to calmly suggest

“Why should I have to leave when he is my brother? “She was also not happy with the turn of events, but she tried another tactic.

“and I’m your sister who needs you now. Wolf will need you later…” Nina flinched a bit at that, still not wanting to back down.

But her brother spoke, surprising her. “Nina, sis, you will see me more when the shop opens."

"Right now I like to visit alone with Teva, and she made time for me…” he looked a bit sad, wanting this small thing.

“Please don’t ruin this for me, “he said it calmly, and even though it was not directed at her, even she felt a bit of a pang of feeling like a outcast for wanting to be near family.

“If you trust me, “he went on

“You know I already told you your part of my life…”

“But now I want Teva in it too.” Nobody had any words for that and shocking all was Arlin “I understand kid, I was rude coming like this.”

“But I really wanted to see your sister and give that message."

"Sorry, I do have things that still need to be done. If they can help me now?” he said it in a way as if he caused all this, and she could not help but smile, which made Arlin blush.

  “See Nina where needed elsewhere."

And you said you would help me with fighting. Do you want me to go alone with Arlin?” she hoped to tip the scale.

“Wa wa what?! “Arlin stuttered out, surprised by the turn of events.

Nina never really stopped staring at Teva but relented. She knew she was pushing her boundaries with her desires. “Fine, sorry brother "

"And yes, sister, I’ll help.” She walked away, flicking her tail up as if an insult, and Teva returned the favor with her tail flick of an insult while holding Wolf.

She wanted to sigh at this odd event unfolding and hope the blacksmith was less stressful and more straightforward. She offered to clean before they left, but Wolf said they would be fine and enjoy their day.

they mostly walked for a while, trying to kill time, talks stayed strain as Arlin seemed to keep mumbling more then real talks and Nina, even after a few hours passed, still seemed to be fuming.

They kept continually passing the smith, hopeful for the best; they did luck out with it opening earlier, then expected, but they were all feeling a bit strained from the poor talks and aimless walking.

When they entered, she was amazed and the variety of items and it was a big shop surprising her. She wasn't sure why she thought it be small but in order to display many items and well have a forge, there would need to be space. The voice from the side confused her and she tried to understand.

  “Luk at tat “

“Tree neuw fauce in myi shoup” she looked toward the source and almost panicked...

She was easily six feet tall, with long brown hair, and was wearing a very lovely brown dress.

But what really was the source of her panic was the blood-red eyes, as if burning flames deep in her soul, she could not look away.“These are my friends, Nina and Leena, “Arlin said, not so much full of pride but still proud, he knew them. “Len, the one who wants to help her brother “

“He is the alchemists who need supplies. “

“NU?!” the giant girl said in surprise

“Ya shud tuld mee sunner wulda made this easuer “

“Muy da luv thu bouy, “she said with pride, watching them stare at her

Leena nodded, following the words a little, and she was near passing out when a bigger man with flaming hair and bulging muscles stepped from the side room...

He looked at all of them with a stone face, nodded, and spoke, “it tru?”

  “Ta bouy yur brutha?”

She nodded meekly. He was a fierce-looking man

“He hulp myi dugther thunk u,” he said with a deep voice.

She was surprised to see warmth in the fire of those eyes and a bit of sadness.

He wasn't a bear to fear but a man with his own monster to face, so she smiled. “My brother loves all. “

“It's why I want to help him where I can. “She looked away, shamed by what she said next,

“But I fear I must ask much of you with little to promise. "

She had time to get bits and pieces from Arlin about the plan. Nina rubbed her back in support, and the big girl patted her arm in support. “Tis uk “

  “We wunt to hulp.”

“Rught da?” she said, looking at her dad, who nodded and left for the back.

Arlin was getting his voice back and was used to them bit more well that and the bigger man been gone helped but spoke with a bit more boast all the same.

Their monsters near town, we can hunt for material and dungeons for crystals, if you can help Len with at least a weapon and shield. We can go from there. "

He had a fierceness in his eye he usually lack that made her smile. He should show that side more.

The big girl seemed to notice too and started acting shy. “I truss u if u promuse to kep mu saf. “Arlin just kinda glared at her, making Leena feel bad for the big girl.

She was definitely trying to catch his eye and not be subtle…Arlin did not seem to share her view of pitying the big girl.

She seem nice though. Nina was browsing the good so Leena followed near her, seeing what might catch her eye before she got too invested she had to ask.

“um… we never agree to any terms?” the big girl stop acting shy, noticing it wasn't working and got bit boastful instead.

“Ay U pic em we gu frum ther, “she folded her arms over her chest as if it was a done deal.

It did not answer her question of what to pick… or what was allowed,

“um, just any weapon? How do I know if it is worth it?” She needed something to go off of other than make it work… the big girl frown.

“U ded nut reseerch anythung? “She shook her head, not sure what to even learn? The big girl frowned, “luts eet and u reed while we tulk and gut to knuw eech uther,” the big girl said

Leena nodded slowly, she wanted to make their friendship official, so she walk up to extended her hand. “I’m Leena. Nice to me you. Um, I never got you name?”

She heard Arlin laugh and say, “I forgot to ask too, “ the big girl grin, and took her hand, shaking it vigorously, “su-k”

“I’m turra. “Leena wasn't sure she heard, right “tur a? “

  “Nu, turra “

She noticed her tongue kept messing up the word so grab a pen and paper and wrote it, Leena seeing the name “O, terra!” Leena knew it now. “A pretty name.”

Terra beamed a smile full of joy while looking at Nina, still glancing at random items, more bored now. The novelty of the new wore off. “Whut bout the beastkun? “

Nina's ear picked up, knowing they were talking about her, rushed over. “I’m Nina and you're a big girl!” Terra barked a laughed, and flexed

Nina touched her arm, very impressed Terra offer her arm to Arlin to grab, but he backed up not wanting any part…

She deflated a little but recovered quickly and left them standing while she went to the back, leaving them confused and alone for the moment. “Think she's mad? “Nina said, breaking the silence.

“We did nothing wrong, “Arlin said impassive, but I wasn't sure I felt we handle this meeting awkwardly and she wanted to treat her better.

She was used to many types of people, but this was a first for her. It reminded her of when she admonished her brother when he saw the beastkin for the first time. Now she was doing the same with these people….

Despite her fear, the girl came back soon after with a book

Understanding enchanted weapons pro and cons by the church

She was surprised the church even had a book on enchanted weapons, but they must have to cover all bases. “tis buuk will hulp u, sunce it's hurd fur me to tulk. “

Leena felt bad knowing this girl had to take extra steps to reach out to help when she was already begging.

“Thank you, and I’m sorry I don’t know your language, “the big girl scoffed, “buh wu luke the cullmun tung just huv trubl weth wurds.”

“Wer gutting butter wus much hurder befure. “Leena nodded

“Thu shup I wus thinkin hus sweeets “

Leena knew the place she had been dying to try it but work kept her busy and they were just talking about it this morning so it was a nice boon they could gossip their.

She agreed. Terra told her dad they needed time to talk and where they were going, and they left with their newfound friend to the sweet shop.

He waited patiently behind the counter as he smiled to himself. He loved watching all the couples finding love thanks to his shop.

It made him feel nothing but joy knowing his sweets brought more love in this world. He stared at all the awkward couples learning to love and those older, mature couples happy still together.

Looking out the window to see how those outside were doing made him freeze and panic, a giant of a woman wearing a very pretty dress with her hair done tower over two smaller girls...

a foxkin and a lovely young girl whom seem to shine with light but all three where trailed with a shadow of darkness that panic his soul… was it the god of darkness stalking women?!

He was too stunned, unsure what to think as they indeed slowly worked their way to his shop…

“Sir, something wrong?” one of his staff asked from the side, not seeing the sight that stalked the girls.

He desperately reaches out to his employee to the side of him trying to grasp him when he finally manages to grab him he jerk the man in front of him to stare outside to confirm the oddity…

After a moment, he spoke as they were getting near to entering

“Thier just customers, sir, it's fine.”

His staff said such absurdity, he thought to himself that was not normal…. He could hear the big girl laughing full of joy, but also almost like a war cry.

The foxkin seemed more like trouble than she was worth, and it also seemed the darkness was human, a shadow one…

The only hope was the pale light that seem to bring them all together... hope. He thought she was hope.

His thought broke as his staff member bowed and asked if they wished to be seated or browse the display goods to get a general idea of what they serve.

They opted to see the goods, which freaked him out as he tended that counter…

Up close, the tall girl was even scarier, she had red eyes like flames! He was used to beastkin and compared to the other girl, she was a cute thing; he supposed...

The Shadowman seen nervous and brooding…was this his harem?! he gasped, and they looked at him in question and he was panicking, sweating a little…

He bowed. "Apologies, I lack manners as a gentleman. “

  “My name is Recardo."

"This is my shop. I made it for those seeking sweetness and love. "

The big girl got excited, laughing. “Luv u say?”

"I culd usee sum luv,” she tried to grab the shadow man, who faded and shifted near the foxkin, who ignored him in favor of browsing the goods.

The girl of light merely smiled at him. “The shop is wonderful. Thanks for having us. “

He felt bad for judging them. It was not his place to say what made others happy, even if it was…. Different, so he smiled his best smile. “Enjoy your time. May you find the same joy in this shop as it has brought me and others. After a bit of light banter, they got a booth in a corner. He felt exasperation with that encounter but still was happy to see something new.

After they got comfortable and share random assortment of dessert, Leena felt comfortable enough to try to read a bit.

Arlin was next to her, but looked like he had an upset stomach when she tried to heal him, he seemed fine? but still kept scowling. It might be because Terra, on his other side kept drawing his attention, trying to feed him...

Nina seemed happy in her own world and mentioned a few times wishing our brother were here. I kinda agreed, it would be nice, but maybe he should save it for Teva only, she thought to herself, to not sour Nina's mood.

Understanding enchants if you have level zero magic, everything is simple to use, and you never run into issues beyond learning the enchant's limits.

Anyone with level one magic or higher needs to use care, enchanting magic can fight you if elements are to out of line, or you can enhance the gear of the same element, if care is used. You can use all elements at once in gear with different pieces regardless of your magic, but risk random resistances from the magic being put near the other elements.

It's why most armor is set-based and focuses on a single element to help blend the magic. It is theorized that more element can be in one item, but most test from non master crafters end in failure.

“Jus tri a bute u lik it” she stopped reading the noise distracting her… well that and Arlin pushing into her side trying to get distance from terra.

“Terra be nice, Arlin is a little overwhelmed. “she saw him flinch, been seen as weak, and she regretted saying it like that, but Terra relented, “nu ned to be shie. “She seemed to sulk a little at that, so she tried to change topics.

“This was a wonderful choice, taking us here, thank you. “She perked up at that, smiling. “I nu reght? “Talk turns casual after that. They enjoyed the rest of their day.

She asked if she could borrow the book and try again tomorrow. Terra voiced disappointment that it ended like it did, but looked forward to tomorrow, even promised the shop would be open early.

Arlin, when they left, was exhausted and made sure to tell them in length that...That girl was too intense for him.

Nina just laughed, enjoying his cocky brooding self getting treated different, they went to her brother's shop. No surprise, Teva was still there. They let him now they will do dungeons and fighting monster soon so won’t be visiting much till that resolved he thank her for keep him in the loop Nina tried convince wolf to take her to the amazing shop but she saw him playing coy about it with maybe another time… they trip home was less eventful they parted half way with Arlin brooding once more she pity him not enjoying himself but was thankful for him been there.

The family was well, and dinner was uneventful. After wishing everyone a goodnight, she read more of the book to help her know about the enchants.

Understanding enchants requires breaking them it two forms, offensive and defensive. One tends to be weapons, the other armor, though both can be interchange if used unorthodox.

Wind: in weapons tends to lack any force modifier, but increases the speed of swings greatly and can reduce the weight of items. In armor, the effect is the same, but can be greater if you have an air element for both weapon and armor effects.

Fire: in weapons tends to be basic, just heat and burning blade, in armor, the effects tend to be more resistance to fire. However, if flame blessed, it amplifies your gift, increasing power and much deadlier than a non-elemental user.

Water: most agree wasted on weapons vs gains of effects vs armor, which shines from an accessory that can offer a range of gifts from Regen, poison cure, water breathing, and increase swimming. Do note that even with those enchants, it requires a will to use, and if a panic state can fail. Those blessed with water, it amplifies the effects.

Earth: weapons tend to be rare but not unheard of; it favors the brutes who want power and unbreakable weapons. Armor is very common and favored the most among those who buy enchants. The draw is the absorbing effect of the Earth to stop impacts. It can also be used to create pulse effects, making a powerful choice, adding to the side benefit of increasing the weight to be like stone, and you will not break or move. Those blessed with earth and enchanted gear tend to be feared as a threat vs other enchants.

Darkness: it is rare enchant so majority never waste it on a weapon as the shadow effect does not help the blade nor increase the power vs other elements the common choice is armor and a wise choice most pick a cloak as again it wasted on more restricted gear but can also work with leather, it main benefit is the shadows to hide with a high enough level enchant iy even allows limited shifting most non-darkness user reported it not worth it as it was a mental drain yet those with the gift noticed no change in how they felt.

Light: a very rare enchant and one mostly seen as taboo in a weapon as many frown on seen light be used to kill yet kill it can and well… this is mostly from text of old, not recent accounts but it is said to be able to sheer any armor with ease and a blade enchanted will never chip or dull. In armor, the same effect is implied and increases Regen and healing. The text says the effects are passive and require no thought for it to work, whereas all other elements require intent.

Please note nothing is set in stone. To a point magic can bend to you will and it can resist your will there has never been any report of enchants breaking but there have been many reports of mana drain occurring when the enchant needs powered beyond it reserves or someone tried to bend a enchant to their will too much so use care in mana light areas or excessive use in a short time.
