Sakamiya University
Front Gate
09:02 AM
“Haruto Mori, come here!” The General’s voice cut through the noise, firm and authoritative.
Haruto froze for an instant. A chill of unease rippled down his spine as a cascade of questions surged uncontrollably within his mind.
Me…? Seriously..? Why is a renowned General like him calling for me?
Could this possibly be related to the message the Spirit Girl gave me on the train..?..
“Haruto-kuun! Right here!” Kanna’s voice rang out from beside the General, filled with relief and a hint of excitement. She waved enthusiastically, her figure standing out amidst the crowd.
Kanna wore a white shirt layered under a cream sweater vest, paired with a short brown plaid skirt that revealed her beautifully-shaped thighs and legs, with skin so smooth it seemed to catch the light. The soft light-purple socks she wore matched perfectly with her black ankle boots. Her waist-length brown hair was tied into a neat ponytail that swayed gently as she moved.
Though Kanna was 21 and in her third year of university, she still had the youthful appearance of a high school girl, a feature that often made people mistake her for someone much younger. Her green eyes, however, were filled with worry as she looked at Haruto.
The General gestured to the surrounding soldiers and officers, who promptly parted to create a small opening in the first barricade, allowing Haruto to step through. As he approached, several soldiers moved to escort him. They carefully parting the jostling crowd to make way for him. Their hands gently but firmly guiding him forward. The weight of their gazes pressed down on him—sharp, calculating, as though they were silently assessing his every move.
Haruto’s mind raced with questions, his thoughts a whirlwind of confusion and uncertainty. Do they already know about me? Has Kanna told the General about me?.. He couldn’t shake the feeling that something was happening, something far bigger than he could comprehend at that moment.
The crowd of reporters and onlookers outside the barricades watched intently, their curiosity growing with each passing second. They had come expecting a simple news story, but now, they realized that, this seemingly ordinary student was involved in something far more significant than they had first imagined. Haruto could feel their eyes on him, the weight of their curiosity pressing down on him like an invisible force.
Kanna reached out and grabbed Haruto’s hand as soon as he walked into the first layer of barricades, her expression filled with concern.
“I’ve been trying to contact you for a while now, and you finally replied, saying you were in front of the campus gate." she said, her voice soft but anxious, almost trembling with worry. “I was so worried something had happened to you.”
Without warning, her arms wrapped around his body in a tight embrace, pulling him closer. Her warmth touching tightly against him as if to ensure he was really there.
“Are you okay, Haruto-kun?” she whispered, pressing her large breasts against his chest, her warm breath soft on his neck. She leaned her head on his shoulder as she kept held him close, seeking comfort in his presence.
—
Haruto stood frozen for a moment, unsure of how to respond to her sudden display of affection. He hesitated, his mind racing, wondering if he should hug her back or gently pull away. After all, their relationship was that of close friends, not romantic partners, and he didn’t want to give her the wrong impression. He wasn’t sure how to navigate this situation, feeling a mixture of awkwardness and uncertainty.
Haruto knew that Kanna probably had feelings for him, feelings that she had never outright expressed but were becoming more evident with time. However, he wasn’t ready to reciprocate those feelings yet. There was too much going on in his life—too many unknowns, too many dangerous situations unfolding around him. This wasn’t the time to complicate things further, especially when he still had so much to deal with, so much that lay ahead.
“I’m fine." he reassured her, his voice steady but distant. “But what’s going on? Why…” He paused mid-sentence. His attention shifting sharply as he caught sight of General Victor’s cold, sharp gaze focused directly on him, sending a chill down his spine—momentarily silencing him.
Kanna released her hold on him, her expression shifting from concern to seriousness in an instant. “Just follow General Victor okay. You’ll understand soon enough.” she said softly. There was an edge of urgency in her tone, as if she knew something he didn’t, something that could change everything.
The General, not one to waste time, gestured for Haruto to follow, “Come with me, Haruto Mori." he said, his voice leaving no room for hesitation as he began leading the way further into the campus grounds.
The crowd of reporters and bystanders watched intently, their curiosity piqued, eyes following every movement with silent questions hanging in the air.
Why was this seemingly ordinary student getting special treatment?
Why had the General, of all people, specifically called for him?
The murmurs and whispers from the crowd grew louder, but no one dared to voice their suspicions aloud.
Haruto could feel the weight of their gazes on him, the pressure building with each step he took. His thoughts swirled in confusion and anticipation, wondering what awaited him beyond the security barricades.
He wasn’t sure if he was prepared for what lay ahead, but he knew one thing…
There was no turning back now..
—
Haruto began following General Victor and Kanna toward the campus parking area when Erika jogged up to the small gap in the first layer of barricades that Haruto had just passed through. She looked determined to join them and started calling out to her father.
“Papa! Papaa!” Erika’s voice was high-pitched and sweet, like a child eagerly seeking her father's attention.
However, General Victor, who clearly didn’t want her presence there, maintained his professional demeanor and tried to ignore her. No civilians were allowed past the barricades without his explicit permission—not even his beloved daughter. He couldn’t afford to compromise on this.
“Papa, can I come in, please? I want to see the phenomenon up close. Oh, and by the way, Papa, who’s that woman? And who is this Haruto guy?” Erika pleaded, her voice taking on a childlike tone as if she was a little girl trying to convince her parent to buy her a new toy. Her eyes sparkled with curiosity as she tried to charm her way into the restricted area.
Haruto was somewhat surprised by this different side of the influencer. Earlier, she had been loud, bossy, and intimidating, nearly inciting the crowd into a full-blown riot. But in front of her father, she had become like a spoiled, attention-seeking child. It was such a rare and unexpected sight, especially for someone with tens of millions of followers like her.
Normally, someone of her status would maintain a composed and proud demeanor, refusing to show any weakness or vulnerability in front of so many people. Yet here she was, showing her true self to her father in full view of the public. Haruto couldn't help but feel a bit of respect for Erika, admiring her willingness to drop the facade and reveal her more genuine side to her father, regardless of who was watching.
However, just like any parent who loves their child but refuses to give them a dangerous toy, General Victor showed the same protective attitude toward Erika. She was not allowed to enter!
“Erika, you can't come in. Go home, it's dangerous here. You’re better off staying away from this area. Just wait at home, and I’ll tell you everything later when I get back, okay?” General Victor didn’t want his daughter to be caught up in the potentially dangerous situation surrounding the dimensional rift that had appeared out of nowhere.
“Buuut Papa, why not? Why can't I come in? I'm your daughter, I promise I won’t cause any trouble and I’ll stay quiet. Please, Papa? Can I come in, pleeeease?” Erika continued to plead, her voice taking on an even more childish tone as she tried to convince her father to let her in, sounding exactly like a little girl asking for permission.
General Victor, now ignoring his daughter’s attempts, turned to the police officers and military personnel standing guard, issuing orders to them in a stern voice, “Make sure no civilians get in without my permission. That includes my daughter, Erika. Keep them as far away as possible! Tell them to go home and stay clear of this area!” His voice carried an air of authority, leaving no room for argument or debate.
“SIR, YES SIR!!” several officers and soldiers responded in unison, snapping salutes as they immediately carried out the General’s orders. With that, General Victor turned and walked into the campus parking lot, accompanied by Kanna, with Haruto following closely behind.
“Paaapa! Papa!” Erika called out again, her voice tinged with frustration, but she quickly realized that pleading with him directly was useless. Fine, if I can’t go in through the front, I’ll find another way in.. Determined, she decided to sneak into the campus somehow.
Her stubbornness could potentially lead to bigger problems, given her decision to try and enter the restricted and dangerous area despite her father’s warnings.
“STEP BACK, ALL OF YOU!” a police officer yelled into a megaphone, trying to hold back the throng of reporters and curious onlookers.
“The military and police are handling the situation. The Tokyo government has declared a state of emergency around Sakamiya University. STEP BACK! Go home! MOVE AWAY FROM HERE! This place is DANGEROUS!” His voice carried an added sense of urgency, fueled by the direct order he had received from the General, the highest-ranking officer in the Japanese military.

The crowd, however, showed no signs of dispersing. In fact, more and more people from various walks of life were gathering, all eager to get a closer look at the dimensional rift. The noise and excitement grew louder, as if they were all mesmerized by the beauty and mystery of the phenomenon.
It didn’t take long for the news about the dimensional rift, coupled with the revelation of Erika’s relationship with General Victor, to spread rapidly across Japan.

Sakamiya University
Parking Lot Area
As they walked through the campus parking lot, Haruto glanced around, his eyes drawn to the phenomenon now visible up close.
A massive dimensional rift stood 4 meters tall and 2 meters wide.
The rift pulsated with a mystical blue-green light, casting flickering shadows on the ground. Intricate symbols and mysterious patterns, like pentagram magic circles, swirled within its depths, shifting and morphing as though they were alive.
The sight was mesmerizing, yet ominous—a gateway to the unknown, brimming with arcane energy.
The edges of the rift crackled with energy, sporadic sparks tearing through the air around it. Semi-transparent orbs floated above the ground nearby, etched with glowing runes that radiated a light not of this world—adding even more complexity to the already stunning scene. Haruto could feel an eerie power emanating from the rift, a tangible force that made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end.
His mind raced, a cold shiver ran down his spine as he was trying to process what he was seeing.
What is this…? What kind of phenomenon is this?..
He muttered to himself, cautiously taking a few steps closer.
The low hum coming from the rift grew louder, a chorus of whispers calling out to him, beckoning him to come closer—to step into the unknown realm beyond the rift.
The sound was unlike anything he had ever heard before—a droning hum from another world, a low, constant resonance like a whirl of wind, mixed with faint chimes, like a giant tuning fork vibrating or a distant bell tolling softly in the far reaches of space. Layered beneath these sounds were whispers—voices speaking in what seemed to be an ancient, forgotten language.
It felt as if the very fabric of reality was tearing apart, resonating with some mysterious energy beyond comprehension.
The sound of the dimensional rift was both haunting and alluring—deep and echoing, intertwined with a cacophony of soft, ghostly voices.
Hummmmm... shhhhhhh... whirrrrrr...
The low hum of swirling wind, accompanied by the crackle of energy, the faint chiming of static bells, and the eerie murmurs of unknown voices. All of it made Haruto's bones vibrate.
It was terrifying yet strange and beautiful at the same time—a symphony of sounds never before heard by human ears, both mesmerizing and deeply unsettling.
As Haruto tore his gaze away from the rift, he noticed the area buzzing with activity. Hundreds of military soldiers were stationed within the perimeter, armed with assault rifles and standing on high alert. Dozens of special police units, typically deployed for anti-terrorism operations, were also present, equipped with heavy weaponry. This was not just any ordinary event—this was a full-scale military operation, deployed to secure the situation.
Various military vehicles, including heavy trucks and combat helicopters, were strategically placed throughout the area, creating an atmosphere that felt like the center of a battlefield. Soldiers in full tactical gear, carrying heavy arms, patrolled the area, ready to respond to any threat that might arise.
—
Haruto was stunned by the sheer scale of the operation.
Is.. all of this really because of that mysterious dimensional rift?.. he wondered, the gravity of the situation slowly sinking in.
More reinforcements had just arrived, another military vehicles with some armored heavy trucks rumbling down the road, rushing through the front gates. Additional combat helicopters descended and landed on the university’s main building and adjacent structure’s rooftops. Haruto watched in awe as the entire area rapidly transformed into a military base. The sheer speed and efficiency with which the forces mobilized were both impressive and unnerving.
As more military personnel arrived, they moved some of their trucks into the streets surrounding the campus to block access and set up additional security barricades. The newly arrived giant trucks went straight to the basement parking lot.
Finally, the police were able to push back the press, reporters, and the growing crowd of curious civilians from Sakamiya University. With the security barriers reinforced by the arrival of more riot police and military trucks blocking the roads, it seemed unlikely that any civilian would be able to get through easily.
Every gate and entrance to the campus was now heavily guarded by armed soldiers.
Helicopters from TV and media outlets circled above the campus, still attempting to capture footage and broadcast live reports. They tried to relay the latest updates, but their efforts were interrupted when a police helicopter approached, ordering them to leave.
"KEEP YOUR HELICOPTERS AWAY! YOU CAN'T BE HERE! This is a DANGEROUS ZONE!" a police officer’s voice boomed through a helicopter megaphone.
A military combat helicopter also approached them, issuing another warning,
“All civilian helicopters and vehicles are prohibited from entering this area. If you remain here, we will take decisive action! This is for everyone's safety. The situation is critical. Please cooperate and leave the area immediately!”
The military’s tone left no room for negotiation.
The tension in the air grew thicker, as though the entire Japanese military was preparing for an imminent attack or an extraordinary danger that could emerge from the dimensional rift. The entire scene was chaotic, and within hours, the campus of Sakamiya University had been transformed into a military headquarters. They appeared to be bracing for an unprecedented threat and prepared for the worst.
Haruto noticed several tents set up in front of the main building, likely for military supplies and a base for the scientists and experts who were busy investigating the dimensional rift. A few specialists, dressed in full protective gear, stood near the glowing blue rift, examining it with various instruments.
They must be studying the phenomenon with specialized tools.. he thought, his eyes scanning the scene, taking in some detail.
Haruto glanced at some of the military officers standing nearby as he passed them. Many of them stared at him with suspicion and distrust. Some even gave him cold, piercing looks, while others continued their conversations, occasionally glancing in his direction. Murmurs and whispers came out from them.
“Why is this student being allowed inside?”
”Who is he? Is he with that girl beside the General?”
”Could he know the General, and is that why he's being granted access?”
“What could he possibly do to warrant such special treatment?”
But Haruto didn’t care much and continued walking behind General Victor Vorpal and Kanna Fujita. Haruto’s gaze shifted back to General Victor and Kanna, who walked calmly in front of him. He felt a strange mix of pride and confusion.
Why would such a high-ranking General, who commands the entire Japanese military, be interested in me? What could be so important about me that he would personally come to meet me in front of the campus?..
Haruto felt anxious, unsure of what to expect next.
Kanna Fujita, who was walking side by side with General Victor in front of Haruto, kept her head down, her thoughts wandering happily. Moments ago, she had spontaneously hugged Haruto out of concern for his safety. Her face flushed a deep red as she struggled to suppress her embarrassment, though the warmth of happiness lingered.
Kanna remembered the first time she hugged—and was hugged by—Haruto during their first meeting three months ago. That moment awakened emotions and feelings she had never experienced before. Haruto was the first man outside her family to hold her tightly, treating her as if she were truly cherished.
It was an unforgettable memory etched into her heart—the moment of love sparked by their first hug on that crowded train.

(Flashback)
Three Months Ago
In The Train Carriage to Sakamiya Station 2
08:05 AM
The calm voice of the train’s announcement system broke through the tension. "Attention passengers: We are now approaching our final stop, Sakamiya Station 2. Please prepare to disembark. This is the final stop: Sakamiya Station 2."
The train was packed, and as it reached the platform, she could already see the throngs of people waiting to board. Her unease grew, and she adjusted her umbrella so she could handle the rush on her own.
Haruto suddenly turned to her, breaking the silence. “H-Hey, Fujita-chan! We need to get ready to move now, or we’ll get stuck in this sea of people and miss the first class.” His voice carried urgency, snapping Kanna out of her thoughts.
Before she could respond, she felt him take her wrist gently, pulling her closer to his side. Her cheeks flushed as she stumbled slightly. Haruto's right hand naturally shifted to her right waist, steadying her in place.
“Ah… M-Mori-san…” she murmured softly, her heart pounding as she leaned into him for support. Without realizing it, her left hand rested on her waist, clinging to him instinctively for balance.
Her thoughts spiraled uncontrollably.
Baka, Kanna! Focus!.. she scolded herself.
Yet, her mind betrayed her as it drifted to an earlier memory of Haruto's words few minutes ago:
"I'll take responsibility if necessary!"
Suddenly, an image of them at a wedding flashed in her imagination—radiant flowers, church bells, and Haruto's smile as he took her hand. They swore their vows to live together until death do them apart. Haruto’s face shone like a charming prince with a mesmerizing smile.
The vivid fantasy overwhelmed her, making her heart race. She shook her head quickly, trying to dispel the scene from her mind.
Focus, Kanna. You need to get off the crowded train now!..
But the warmth of Haruto's hand and his protective presence made it harder to keep her thoughts grounded in reality.
The train slowed to a stop, and the soft chime signaled the doors were about to open. As the doors slid apart, Haruto turned to Kanna again, his voice firm but reassuring. “Alright, stay close to me and follow my lead. Let’s move now!”
The moment his words reached her, the crowd began to surge, pushing forward as people rushed to exit. Kanna tightened her grip on Haruto, leaning closer to him as he led the way. Her admiration for him grew stronger with every step.
He’s so reliable… no one’s ever treated me like this before..
She thought, her cheeks warming with a mix of gratitude and shame.
The chaotic press of the crowd grew louder, with voices shouting from all directions. Kanna stayed close to Haruto, who shielded her from the metal handrails and jostling passengers. The air grew cooler as they neared the platform, signaling they were close to freedom. The shouts around them grew louder, and for a brief moment, Haruto’s grip slipped.
Panic seized Kanna as she instinctively grabbed his arm, pulling it tightly against her chest. “Mori-saaaan..!” she cried out, her voice trembling with fear as they finally reached the Sakamiya Station 2 platform in time.

(Back to Present Time)
The memory of their embrace to escape the crowded train remained vivid in Kanna’s mind. It was a moment she would treasure forever—perhaps the moment she realized that she had fallen in love with Haruto ever since.
Kanna was still walking with her head down and a red face, wishing she could have hugged Haruto longer. Deep down, she hoped that he would one day reciprocate her feelings.
As they passed a tent, Haruto noticed a group of scientists working on a strange machine that were connecting to the dimensional rift. Another scientist was hunched over a computer, typing frantically. The entire scene was filled with activity, the air thick with tension, anticipation, and fear.
When they reached the main building of Sakamiya University, the gravity of the situation became even more apparent. The Japanese military had completely taken over the building, with soldiers stationed inside, standing guard at every entrance. Haruto could see the severity of the operation reflected in the sheer number of troops deployed.
A military officer approached General Victor,
"General, should we expand the security perimeter and begin evacuating civilians from the Sakamiya area?"
"Colonel Hayato Yamazaki, yes, we need to expand the security perimeter to one kilometer from the dimensional rift, but evacuation of civilians from Sakamiya is not necessary just yet. We need to assess the situation further before making that call.”
“For now, our priority is to prevent civilians and reporters from approaching Sakamiya University. Report any anomalies or unusual activity immediately." General Victor instructed Colonel Hayato Yamazaki, his voice calm but firm.
"Yes, Sir!" Colonel Hayato responded, saluting the General before returning to his post to relay the orders to his unit commanders.
Upon hearing that there were plans to evacuate civilians from Sakamiya, based on the conversation between General Victor and Colonel Hayato, Haruto felt a growing sense of unease.
Is the situation so critical that they’re considering evacuating people from Sakamiya?
Just.. how dangerous is this dimensional rift?..
Haruto’s mind spun with confusion and anxiety as he followed General Victor and Kanna toward the elevator, heading to the second floor.
