Prologue – The Chronicles of Fantastic Worlds

Many times, we look up at the sky and, in silence, ask ourselves that question.

Yes, that one—the one that leads us to wander through that uncertain and mysterious path we call imagination...

What lies beyond, in the depths of the universe?

I also wonder: What is my purpose here?

And the doubt lingers—fixed and constant—in my mind and in my heart.

And so, without even noticing, I keep growing.

Some people choose to forget these questions, to carry on with their lives as usual, giving up on what cannot be seen.

Others just keep it buried inside, like a myth or story to entertain them during quiet times.

But I can't let go of the idea that I’m meant for something greater.

The simple things—those ordinary things that define most people—I carry as duty, without attaching deeper meaning to them.

Maybe it sounds strange… maybe even a little crazy to others.

  But honestly? I don’t care.

Because deep inside me, I feel as if a powerful force is growing with me.

And I’m going to find out what it truly is.

Everyone here talks about our King. Everyone believes in him.

But no one has ever seen him.

And even though there’s a great castle, guarded by magic and soldiers… I’m willing to investigate.

Let me introduce you to AN—my world.

I could tell you every detail about it, but I don’t want to bore you.

So I’ll only mention a few things… because the most important part comes later.

From what we’re taught in school, AN is a very large planet.

I’m not sure how large exactly—I haven’t explored it all. And I don’t know if it’s bigger than some other world out there in the universe.

All I know is that we’re surrounded by two massive stars.

Specifically, two giant suns that give us everything we need—light and life.

The first one is called Kantra, because its fire keeps nature alive during the day.

The second is Orphes, whose blue flames bring us peace and rest.

When Orphes rises, all peoples of the world can finally sleep.

The planet is divided into four great cities. The rest of the land belongs to nature by law.

Their names are Serf, Querb, Portcan, and Arcan.

Serf was built in the heights—practically floating in the sky.

Its origins are mysterious, but when seen from below, it’s breathtaking.

Its rivers flow from the clouds and merge into the seas below.

The Seraphim, its people, have great and powerful wings.

They usually have silver hair, red eyes, small fangs, and pointed ears.

Their abilities are unmatched—they control time and space, heal life, and keep balance between the planet’s creatures and vegetation.

Querb, known as the city of magic, music, and beauty, is so vast that its glowing light can be seen from any point in the world.

Its inhabitants also have wings—but different ones: each has two pairs.

Their eyes shift between green, blue, or yellow.

Their hair is golden, and their faces so pure that some say a single stare can hypnotize you.

They can change the weather through song and dance, and they wield music as their magical power—their instruments are weapons.

Portcan is the largest city on the planet.

That’s where I was born and raised.

It lies at the center, at the gates of the Kingdom, lower than the rest.

It has more inhabitants than any other city and thrives on survival and progress.

Our customs keep us in harmony with nature and at peace with the world.

We, the Portcanians, also called “angels,” cannot fly.

That’s why we developed all kinds of mobility tools to travel long distances.

Although, my mother says that once in a while, someone is born with the power to fly… without wings.

  That’s rare around here.

  Still, Portcanians have remarkable abilities:

We can read the stars, craft medicine, and teach the secrets of light and energy.

  And finally, there’s Arcan.

Not much is known about that place or its people.

It’s far from the Kingdom and almost everything else.

No one I know has ever gone there.

I heard the Arcanians are extremely powerful, part of the most feared elite serving the King.

Their leader is called the Patriarch, and along with his generals, they are known as the Watchers and Guardians of our world.

Only the Patriarch is allowed into the King’s castle—once a month—to deliver important reports.

He’s always accompanied by two generals.

They can fly without wings, breathe underwater, and wield nearly every known power.

They control the elements—and above all, they specialize in combat.

My mother once told me that long ago, children from all four cities were chosen to join Arcan, because they had immense powers from birth.

They were trained to serve the Kingdom.

But according to her… that hasn’t happened in years.

What caught my attention the most is that the generals of Arcan never enter the King’s throne room.

They say the King is not alone.

  Four beings protect him.

And the truth is… many suspect they’re not from this planet.

Maybe not even from this world.

Many times, my curiosity drove me near the castle.

And even though the security is impenetrable…

somehow, I always managed to get closer than anyone else—without being caught.

It felt like a force was pulling me toward it…

like someone was calling me every day.

When Orphes rises and everyone sleeps...

  that’s when I investigate.

My father left when I was very young.

  He never returned.

My mother doesn’t speak much about it…

But I suspect his disappearance has something to do with Arcan.

Up to that point, everything was fine.

  But like every beautiful story…

  darkness eventually comes.

  And with it… everything changes.

  In our case, war arrived.

And with the war… came death.

What I’m about to tell you is the truth about my world—and others too.

It’s about the fate of all who live in them.

This is a story where past, present, and future are woven together…

to carry us into forgotten realms—unknown, yet incredibly real.

This is the beginning of the tale of the Fantastic Worlds.
