Chapter 110: The Good Girls I Missed Out On Back Then

Chapter 110: The Good Girls I Missed Out On Back Then

There's less than half a year left in this semester, so I'll make a plan for this period of time and try it out.

I like to experiment when doing things, and through experimentation, I can analyze what to do next. Here are the 3 goals I set for myself in the past half year:

Firstly, be among the top ten in your grade, the higher the better.

Secondly, read as many books as possible, and finish at least three libraries' collections.

Third, strive to be the top student in the lower grades.

Having a goal means having direction, and here is a detailed plan for achieving these three goals:

Firstly, wanting to enter the top ten, academic credits are indispensable, and there are many ways to obtain academic credits.

  1. Exams are a major event, and most of the credits for lower-grade students come from final exams. Each of the five public courses has 100 credits, and those who perform well can get 489 credits, while the worst performers can still get around 200-300 credits.

  2. In addition, classroom performance is also an important way for most low-grade students to earn credits. A beautiful assignment, a perfect answer, a new idea, and a constructive suggestion can all earn 1-3 credits.

Therefore, persisting in attending classes diligently every day, actively answering questions and completing each assignment is the first step of the plan.

For students with strong abilities, taking on tasks, competitions, creative work and participating in certain activities can also earn a considerable number of credits.

So, I decided to take on at least one task and one competition every week, and create something new every day: including poetry, songs, and articles on various topics. I would submit them to my mentor or directly to the head teacher; usually, it was the class monitor who collected them and handed them over to the head teacher. Although there were many things to do in these activities, they were opportunities that shouldn't be missed when encountered; of course, you could also organize an activity yourself, as long as it had enough popularity, you would get academic credits.

Secondly, I try to read as many books as possible and stick to the principle of reading every day. Of course, this is not enough, I must use my credits to exchange for the right to borrow more books, carry books with me at all times, so that I can read even when I'm not in the library.

Moreover, three libraries cannot meet my reading needs, and I have to use credits in exchange for the qualification to use more libraries.

If I'm not mistaken, one credit can exchange for the right to borrow three more books; however, wanting to exchange for an additional library usage right requires 120 credits. Many classmates are reluctant because if they don't have enough credits, they can't advance and will be forced to repeat a grade. Repeating a grade for three consecutive years is considered automatic withdrawal!

Thirdly, the primary goal is to become the number one player in the lower grades, i.e., fourth grade and below. This requires strong skills and competitiveness: challenge the top ten players one by one, advance one rank at a time, and finally reach the position of the number one player in the lower grades.

So I still need to work hard on my cultivation, which has been arranged for a long time. I will continue to cultivate in the same way as before: every night and morning, and at sunset are all times for cultivation.

In addition, through today's exchange with Tan Xian Neng of the eight great families, I gained some insight: The cultivators in this world are not as weak as they seem, and their created martial techniques are not useless. On the contrary, there are many subtle aspects of martial techniques that are worth learning from.

It seems that I really underestimated the heroes of the world before! My brother's words to me are still in my ears, and I restrained the proud mentality that inadvertently flowed out. At the same time, I am full of expectations for other strong people in this world and wonderful things.

The plan is set, now it's time for action.

Unconsciously, it's almost dusk. When I have something to cultivate my spirit, this time there is no accompaniment of little partners, nor the company of two little girls, and a kind of inexplicable loss arises in my heart.

A person walks in the sunset, with a long shadow. Taking light steps, heading towards a familiar mountain peak, a familiar place, unfortunately without familiar people.

The twilight is so piercing, the sunset is also mocking my loneliness, the west wind has blown me to one side, but it's whispering with the distant trees.

Dad and mom are thinking of me at this time, where is brother, why hasn't he come back yet?

  Shook his head and sighed:

"Overly sentimental, thinking of children, could it be that I've not only become youthful in appearance, but also regressed in mind?"

The sun begins to set, seize the moment, no longer think about these annoying things, start absorbing the red light...

At 8 o'clock in the evening, at the entrance of the First Library. A delicate boy meets a lovely loli:

"Little brother, long time no see."

"Hehe, no need to wait, I haven't wasted time, still reading a book."

"Hehe, little brother is really good at making use of time!"

"By the way, is Xiaoting okay?"

"She's fine, but, well, never mind, you wouldn't care anyway."

  "It's nothing, it's fine, haha."

"I knew you wouldn't truly care about her, sigh, no wonder she made this choice."

"What? What does it mean? Who says I don't care about her anymore? Tell me, what choice did she make?"

"Now you know? Let's find a place to talk slowly, it's not good to talk here."

The man and woman were none other than me and Xiaomei, who had made a date for the daytime. I didn't know why Yemengting and Xiaonizi hadn't come. As for this, my heart was also conflicted, feeling both relieved and lost.

I walked with Xiaomei towards the Crescent Lake, the night sky was hazy with moonlight, and we strolled side by side under the moon. What made us feel awkward was that at this moment, the Crescent Lake was crowded with couples, each whispering sweet nothings to each other, not a good place for conversation. Especially since Xiaomei and I's relationship was ambiguous, seemingly like lovers but also referred to as siblings, neither of us dared to break the last layer of reserve.

Then, I took Xiaomei to the new life mountain and brought her into the cave that I had discovered. Unconsciously, we had already established trust with each other, it was time to let her know some secrets.

Entering the cave, after a few days of not coming, the hot spring was already full; Little Mei looked around in surprise, making "wow" and "ahh" sounds nonstop, asking all sorts of ignorant questions nonstop. I enjoyed her lively appearance, answering every question she asked without getting annoyed.

Her surprise finally ended, I gestured for her to sit down, and then continued with the unfinished topic:

"Xiao Mei, now you should tell me about Xiao Ting's choice, shouldn't you?"

Xiao Mei said slyly: "Want to know? First answer a question for me."

"Alright, you little rascal! You actually dare to set conditions for me? Hehe, ask away and see if I can answer!"

"Hehe, I'm doing this for you and our good sister, don't blame me; if you don't answer, I won't tell you."

"Okay, hope it won't be too difficult."

"Don't worry, little brother, it won't be too difficult, you just need to answer yes or no."

  "Really? Ask away."

"Little brother, be honest with me, do you like Little Ting?"

"Yes, oh, ah, Xiaomei, why are you asking this?"

Xiao Mei's eyes flashed a hint of imperceptible loss, and then she happily said:

"Really? You're not kidding me, you really like Xiaoting?"

"Of course it's true, but this liking is not a romantic affection between men and women, rather an appreciation, as well as friendship between friends."

"I knew it, you never really cared about Xiaoting, humph, still making excuses!"

Looking at Xiaomei, she seemed to have let out a sigh of relief and her expression had become more pleasant, but the words coming out of her mouth were saying something else entirely, leaving me bewildered and unsure of how to respond. Xiaomei thought I was agreeing with her and hummed in satisfaction:

"Hmm, nothing more to say now. It seems that Xiaoting's choice was right. At first, I even advised her not to give up. You're a good man, little brother."

"You're so eager to introduce me to your good sister, is that really what you think? And what did Xiaoting say?"

"Little brother, you're my little brother. Look at those friends of yours, they all found their partners in just a few days. Isn't this for your own good? I'm worried about you!"

Taking a deep breath, Xiaomei said discontentedly:

"She told me to tell you that you're a self-righteous person who never puts others in your eyes and doesn't care about them; so, she won't come after you again or argue with you again. Are you happy now?"

  "Oh... Oh..."

After hearing what Xiaomei said, I don't know what to say anymore, and can only keep nodding.

"Are you very disappointed? I knew it, a good girl like Xiaoting is really a pity to miss out on. If you're willing, I can help put in a good word for you with her, maybe she'll change her mind..."

Xiao Mei continued talking to herself, I didn't listen to what she said afterwards, my mind was in a mess, dizzy and blurred.

On the one hand, I was originally just a brother in her heart, and she wanted to introduce me to other girls.

On the other hand, to be honest, Ye Mengting is quite lovely and any man would like her, including me; however, having already set my heart on Xiaomei, I don't want to accept another good girl's feelings, fearing that I might hurt their fragile hearts.

So, I've been deliberately avoiding girls who might like me more, sometimes it's not that I don't understand romance, but rather pretending to be stupid. Being able to cut off those thoughts early on is good too, thinking about it this way, my mood has improved a lot, and my state of mind has also risen to another level.

Thought refinement has been further enhanced, now reaching the realm of thought: mental space has grown exponentially, and the ability to perceive thoughts and analytical power have increased greatly.

The date that night was a blur and he didn't even remember how he sent Xiaomei back.
