Chapter 6. The Eastern Trade Consortium

The shopping streets of the Imperial City are always crowded, and today is no exception. Trade groups from various countries have their own shops on the shopping streets of Elima. This is the most important country in the north of the continent, and the Imperial City is the core of Elima.

An inconspicuous small caravan also came to the trading street. The only difference was that they looked exhausted, and even their clothes were tattered. Their camels and horses were extremely tired, and it was obvious that they had walked a long way.

The person walking in front was a man in his forties, with his head wrapped in a linen scarf. Behind him followed two young men and a young girl. They stood under the huge arch bridge of the Shopping Street and looked up at the towering and magnificent Papal Hall in the distance.

"Alan, is this the royal city of Elima?"

The girl asked softly, she raised her head and looked out from the gap in her veil. Even though it was her first time in Elima, she spoke standard Elima language.

The man in the front did not look back. "Let's take a rest in the trading house first. Then you can go look around with Jin."

"Great!" the girl said happily, "Ah Jin, take me for a walk later. I heard that Elima's chestnut ice cream is especially delicious. Let's go together."

One of the young men looked embarrassed. He looked at the other young man and said, "Ah Xiang, I'll leave this job to you. I don't want to accompany her around the city and help my father unload the goods."

Another young man wailed, "You sound like I'm happy to do that. I don't want to go shopping with a woman."

"Yalan, look at them!" the girl said angrily. She grabbed the young man named A Jin and said, "You must go with me. You must go."

"Oh! Jasmine! Why are you so annoying? Be careful or you won't be able to get married in the future!"

"If I can't get married, I'll marry you!" The girl named Jasmine said coquettishly, with her hands on her hips.

"Who dares to marry you? I think you should marry A Xiang. He is honest and can tolerate your anger." A Jin pointed at his younger brother beside him and said loudly.

The man named Alan ignored the fight between his two sons and the girl. He looked around vigilantly, trying not to attract attention in the crowd. Even though there were more and more Orientals in Elima, they still needed to keep a low profile.

As they were walking forward, they suddenly found that the road ahead was blocked. Alan stopped with his camel and horse, while the three children beside him continued chattering.

"What's going on?" asked someone nearby. He looked like a businessman from the southern part of the Casfania continent and had a slightly dark skin.

"He's from the Knights." Another man answered. Seeing that he was wearing a short leather jacket, Alan could tell that it was the silver bear skin that could only be found in the deep mountains in the north.

"The Knights Templar?" The man immediately became interested when he heard it, and he tried to stand on tiptoe to watch.

"Yes, look at their armor and flags. They are the Wind Wolves of the Knights Templar, and they are also the Knight Commander's personal squad." The man from the north pointed and said, "We in the north are very familiar with them. I guess they are going to leave the city and head north again."

"I heard recently that the dragon tribe has started to move again."

"Yes, but with the Wind Wolf Squad and the Knights here, there's nothing to worry about."

  “…”

Alan narrowed his eyes, and a barely perceptible light flashed in his black pupils. The girl beside him, Jasmine, looked at the knights curiously. "Alan, who do you think is better, them or you?"

"Don't say such nonsense." Alan hugged his arms, looked down at Jasmine, and thought about everything - "Brother Alan, tell me, who is more powerful, the Knights Templar of Elima or you?"

Someone once asked him the same question in the same tone at the same age.

——"My brother Alan must be more powerful."

"Wow! Who is that guy? So handsome!" The girl next to him couldn't help but say. Alan came back to his senses, looked up and saw the person the girl was pointing at.

"You've never seen a man in your life, right?" Before Alan could speak, Ah Jin spoke up, "Moli, if I had known you were so fickle, I would never have agreed to let Ah Xiang marry you."

"Go to hell! Who wants to marry A Xiang?" Jasmine nudged A Jin with her shoulder, but glanced at A Xiang beside her, snorted, and looked with interest at the man riding on a griffin in the cavalry not far away.

The group of people walked further and further away, and the street returned to normal.

Alan turned to his sons and Jasmine and said, "Let's go. We have to hurry to the trading house."

When the dark-skinned man standing next to him heard that they were going to the trading house, he asked, "Are you new merchants from Elima? Judging from your attire, you must be from the East, right?"

Alan smiled kindly, "Yes, when we first came here, we brought spices from the East to sell here. I heard that the nobles of Elima love spices very much."

Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.

The man introduced himself. "I am Milam from Uliana, and I have been doing business in Elima for many years. If you are looking for a good buyer for your spices, I thought you could bring them to my shop for a look."

Alan knew that the Uliana Tribal Alliance was the best business country on this continent, and he was eager to gain a foothold here, so he expressed his great interest in Milam's proposal.

"I don't know which trading house you live in, but my shop is at the end of the shopping street." Miram pointed to a golden shop in the distance and said, "We Ulianas love gold the most. I heard that your East is full of gold. Although transportation is very convenient now, I haven't had the opportunity to travel across the ocean." He walked on the shopping street with Alan, "You guys must have taken a long boat ride to reach the Casfania continent."

Alan smiled without saying anything. He naturally knew how to maintain his image in front of foreigners - a mysterious and reserved Oriental. The Uliana merchant's way of doing things would not work in front of Orientals.

Jin and Xiang were also silent behind him. At this moment, they showed the good education they had received at home since childhood. The same was true for Jasmine. She lowered her head slightly, with only her small chin exposed outside the gauze hat.

"Are the boxes carried by these camels and horses all filled with spices?" The cunning Uliana merchant looked back at their caravan, estimating how much benefit he could gain from it.

"Our spices are very expensive," Alan said. "They are the kind of spices that are only used by the royal family of our country." He deliberately spoke in Elima with a slight accent.

"My friend, my oriental friend, you are so lucky." Milam said with emotion, "You can ask the spice merchants around. My Milam's shop is one of the best in this continent. Let me put it this way, my friend, I don't even know your name. I will take you to the trading house where you live. When you are settled, can you let me take a look at your goods?"

Alan nodded in satisfaction, "Of course, we live in the green alley behind the shopping street."

"I know that trading house. It's settled then. It's getting late today and you must need some rest. I'll come to you tomorrow morning, okay?" Milam spoke incessantly, expressing his sincerity.

"Of course, let's say goodbye here. We should be there just by turning here." Alan said with a smile.

"Okay, okay, then you guys take a rest." Milam said to Alan enthusiastically. Seeing that a deal was about to be done, he thought to himself, these tramps from the East, how could they understand the business philosophy of this continent!

"Dad, do you really believe that short and fat guy?" After they separated, Ah Jin followed Alan and asked softly.

"A Jin and A Xiang, please protect Jasmine tonight." Ya Lan said calmly.

Ah Jin, who was carefree just now, immediately became alert after hearing this, "What's wrong?"

"He will probably come to visit us at night." Alan looked at his son, "Jasmine doesn't know martial arts, you two must protect her."

"Yes, Dad." A Jin and A Xiang looked serious.

Jasmine squeezed over and got close to Alan. "Alan, do you mean that person will send people to rob the goods?" She glanced at the horse team behind her. "Then let them rob. We have plenty of ambergris anyway!"

Alan looked at the girl helplessly, thinking that he must have spoiled her too much, which is why she has such an ignorant character. "My batch of ambergris is still useful."

"Oh, I thought you brought the three of us here just to have fun." Jasmine pouted. "I shouldn't have come if I had known. I almost vomited from sitting on the boat. I couldn't eat or drink well. Jin and Xiang always bully me. And I have to wear this crappy thing every day." She reached out and took off her veil. "I'm almost suffocating!"

The long black hair cascaded down like running water, and the small and bright face was exposed to the air. It was an extremely delicate oriental face, with a red flower hairpin between the eyebrows, a pair of big watery eyes, and thick eyelashes like a small fan, flickering.

Alan reached out and touched Jasmine's hair, "You should wear it."

"Uncle Yalan, I'm almost suffocating, please don't let me wear it. Besides, who here knows us?" Jasmine said coquettishly, "Brother Jin and Brother Xiang, you know how uncomfortable it is to wear this hat. I even fell down because I didn't see the stone before."

"Isn't that because you're stupid?" Ah Jin said, "You have dull eyes and your feet are clumsy."

"Will you die if you say less?!" Jasmine chased after Jin, while Alan looked at the couple running away. If they could return to Mingxia smoothly this time, then, after they returned, they would let Jin and Jasmine get married...

  Jasmine, Jasmine...

This name kept circling in Qu Fuer's mind.

The girls in Quewu told her that this was a very common oriental name. One of the girls from the East said that probably many girls in her country had this name.

She woke up from a dream again. It was not a nightmare, but the kind of dream that was hard to talk about. In the dream, someone hugged her, approached her gently, and called her name over and over in her ear.

It started out as Fu'er, but ended up being Jasmine.

In the past few days, news came that the Knights Templar were recruiting new members. Yinge ridiculed her and said that she would definitely not be accepted, so she should simply not sign up.

But when Yinge found out that Qu Fuer locked herself in the mahogany all day and really didn't go to sign up, she asked anxiously, could it be that I always ridiculed Qu Fuer and dampened her enthusiasm?

Of course, she couldn't go to the Knights Templar again, but she couldn't just sit there and wait for death. Qu Fuer remembered what the man had said in her ear: if she didn't apply, he would send someone to take her to the military whore camp.

  Is he kidding?

  Qu Fuer thought.

  This made her confused.

Today is a full moon, the moon is bright and the stars are sparse. Qu Fuer can't sleep, so she decides to accept Yinge's invitation and go for a walk outside.

Hearing that the Knights were heading north again, she thought she would never meet that man. Then she felt very ridiculous. How could that man care about her? Maybe he would have forgotten her by the next time they met.

Because it is a full moon in summer, there is a lantern festival in the main square of the imperial city. One reason is to celebrate the goddess, and the other is to give beloved men and women an opportunity to express their true feelings to each other.

Everyone wears a gorgeous mask on their face and dresses up beautifully.

Maybe it's a chance encounter, or maybe it will lead to a wonderful relationship.

Silver Dove was waiting for her at the door. The beautiful and charming Uliana girl had tied up her long honey-colored hair and wore a beauty mask on her face. She was wearing a white long skirt and southern-style braided sandals.

"Fuer, you should at least change your clothes." Yinge started nagging again. She pushed Qu Fuer, who was dressed in a neutral outfit, back into the room. "Don't you have a skirt or something? If you dress like this, people will mistake you for my man."

"I really didn't." Qu Fuer said quickly.

Yinge put the mask on her head and said, "I really don't know how you grew up. Wait, I'll go ask Sister Ale to borrow one. Her figure is similar to yours."

After a while, she came back holding up a bright red dress. "You can just wear it. I really don't understand Sister A-Le's taste. She always likes to wear clothes in such gaudy colors!"

"Then why did you let me wear it..." Qu Fuer was no match for Yinge's intimidation, so she had no choice but to put on the red dress that looked particularly gaudy.

Yinge glanced up and down, "Well, okay, she looks like a woman now." She put on her mask again, "Although she looks a bit like a transvestite from the East."

Qu Fuer was extremely angry. Dresses with bare shoulders and waist were never her choice.
