She explained him the geography of this world.
This planet is huge. His didn't even believe it at first. This is planet is even bigger than the Sun. And the sun was million times larger than Earth.
A year here doesn't equate to the time it takes for this planet to revolve around the star, since this planet doesn't even revolve around it. The star here was also massive. A star of that size should have died in few million years, but she assured him that it had been here for atleast a billion.
He asked her how old is she and who is she anyways.
She told him they will come to that and countinued explaining.
A year here is 1000 days. A day is the time it takes this planet to rotate twice. Thus there are 2 nights and 2 days in a single day.
"There are three nights and 2 days." she corrected him.
He was confused.
"The third night happens on both faces of the planet at the same time. Obviously it's an unnatural phenomenon, but we have no idea why it happens. It is different from a night as it causes total blackout as if someone covered the whole planet with a cloth. It remains like that for an hour."
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
He nodded. She then countinued.
There is one, huge continent surrounded by the ocean. The continent is so huge, it extends into every hemisphere. If one end is going through the night, the other end is going through the day.
The continent is divided into provinces. Each provinces is divided into 3 layers. The Outer, the Inner and the War Zone. The Outer surrounds the Inner and the Inner surrounds War zone. The War zone is in the middle of the continent.
He asked her what the war zone means.
"Humans are not the apex of this world. Our world was once and still is a battlefield for 2 races. The Chaotic beings and the Winged ones. Those two are mortals enemies from times unknown."
"But why do they fight on this planet?" He asked.
"It's because none of them can enter their regions of each other. Chaotic beings live in an impenetrable realm while Winged one's boundaries are protected by their god."
Since they cannot invade each other, they made this planet their battlefield.
"God? And why not any other planet?" he asked
"It's because this planet is one of the largest with an ample amount of aether. A perfect battlefield. So perfect that life came into existence here." She explained.
"As for their god, he is called the 'The First One'. Don't say this name in the real world. You will die and even I won't be able to save you."
"What do you mean by that?" He asked
"Didn't I tell you about some absolute beings that are so strong even other absolute beings arent safe? 'The First One' belongs to that category. As the name suggests, 'She' is the first being in the universe."
"The first being in the universe! How old is the universe? And why did you say 'She'?" He asked, very curious.
"You cannot talk with a king casually or else you would be killed for disrespect. Similarly you cannot address any Absolute beings casually. While a king might give you mercy, but an absolute being wouldn't. Or should I say they can't."
He didn't understand.
"Think of it as such. You looked at the star and blinded yourself. Now did the star blinded you because you looked at it and it felt insulted?" She asked
"No, the star did nothing. It was-" he stopped.
'So that's what she is saying. I get it. The star just exists and shines as bright as it can. The one who got blinded shouldn't have looked at the star directly. They could have used some precautions. It's the same with Absolute beings. They just exist. Anyone who wants to address them must take precautions. If not, then the result that follows will be deadly.'
