There was a pce both inside and outside of reality. A towering pilr of Dragon Gss stood, an obsidian-like material made from stone melted with dragon fire. This pce outside reality, a demi-pne those of wizardly teachings call it, is where the twelve monarchs who rule this world both in the light and shadows meet every year.
At the top of this tower, for that is what the pilr was, was a room in a perfect tridecagon1In geometry, a tridecagon or triskaidecagon or 13-gon is a thirteen-sided polygon. Each wall was decorated with the regalia and decorations that each monarch had chosen to represent them, except for the thirteenth side where the door to the room was which was decorated with only some golden metal torchlike braziers that emitted a fire that constantly shifted into every color imaginable and yet no colors at the same time.
In the middle of the room stood a huge thirteen-sided table made of iridescent metal with thirteen cushioned thrones made of the same metal on each side of it. The middle of the table was a rge magical circle that projected an illusion of the mortal world that slowly, but accurately spun. Each throne had a number in gold inid on the back of it. Sat in the seat numbered thirteen, and at the only nonangled side of the table, directly opposite the door, was a skeleton with teal, wispy fmes in his eye sockets.
He wore very expensive-looking bartender's clothes, which were mainly bck and white except for the maroon tie, a golden monocle over his left eye, and a gold ring on each finger beside the thumbs, each with a different gemstone on it. He leaned onto one hand while reading a piece of paper on the table and rolling a silver coin between his fingers2The coin walk is a type of coin trick in which a coin is flipped over the fingers to create the illusion of a coin walking across the back of the hand. It is one of the most famous coin manipution tricks. It is also known as the coin roll, knuckle roll, and the steeplechase flourish, and can also be performed with poker chips, slugs, or other simir implements, a coin that bore a skeletal face on one side and a church steeple on the other side surrounded by ancient text that was indecipherable to anyone but him. It was a funeral coin, a coin that was given to the dead in burial rituals around the world so they could pay the ferryman of the underworld. It mattered little about what the coin was made of but it was more about the symbolic gesture of paying your dues and accepting your fate. Not something everyone did in life but in death you had little choice.
The skeleton sighed as he finished reading the paper, his wispy fme eyes dimming slightly. He stopped rolling the coin and stood up from his throne, stretching his tired form. He walked around the room, letting his metaphysical blood flow from being sat down to long when he heard someone entering the room. He turned to see who he thought it was entering.
A tall and beautiful woman walked in, her adamantine heels clinking against the dragon gss floor like bells on a festival. Her beauty was beyond description like a goddess descended amongst mortals. One look at her though was enough to send images of demons through their minds, despite her not being one. Her body was like an explosion of eroticism, like it was made to tempt men and women to fall to her and the flowing bck and gold clothes she wore left little to the imagination and clung to her so tightly they barely contained her flesh. The most eye-catching features were the numerous horns that came out of her obsidian hair to form a twisted crown that was as regal as it was ominous. That wasn't her only interesting feature as studded around her body were bck, iridescent scales that shone like gems and a draconic tail that was wrapped around her waist, like a spiked buttress, of the same color. Gold jewelry decorated various parts of her body but it was just enough to enhance her looks without looking excessively gaudy. Behind her was something dressed in a traditional maid outfit but they wore a bck veil over their head so it was impossible to determine what race it was.
The divine beauty looked around the room, ignoring the skeleton, looking to see if anyone else was there.
"Fufu. It seems like I'm the first one here again," she said while seductively chuckling.
The skeleton sighed for the second time today. "That is the four thousandth and seventy-fifth time you've said that when you arrive Tiamoth. Do you ever get tired of it?" the skeleton asked, exasperated at her actions.
Tiamoth just chuckled while hiding her mouth with the top of her fingers. "Seldom Death. Seeing your serious, no-fun reaction is always worth it. How is Life? I heard she was extremely excited about something she did."
Death started ughing heartily, if he could smile he would surely be wearing one. "She's a bit tired so she's currently resting at home. She created ten new species which she scattered across the multiverse. You should have seen her giddy face as she showed them off. The Urs will have it rough but all do at the start. Coincidently one ended up on Nexantus. I'm sure you will find her interesting in time."
"Oh? If you say so then it must be true. Well, I'll go take my seat now. The other eleven will join us within the hour after all." Tiamoth said whilst walking toward the throne with the number one on the back, which was next to Death's seat on the left.
Death raised a metaphysical eyebrow at her remark. One had not been to these meetings in the past decade so for her to cim that they would show up is interesting but not surprising. She always knew more than she told, and he found that if she was being coy or vague about something you said that usually meant she knew something you didn't. Usually. Sometimes she did it just to mess with people or didn't do it for who knows why. She was a known mystery for him but she brought some interesting color to his and his wife's lives.
The duo didn't have to wait long until the next monarch arrived. The padded armored footfalls gave it away to the two as a slightly armored blindfolded woman entered. She wore a thick bck leather jacket that covered the bck and white cloth clothing peeking out. From what could be seen the clothing was made for ease of movement and there was minimal metal armor around vital points that could be heard as she shuffled around. She carried a modified nodachi on her back that was too heavy for most to wield but too long to draw from its sheath. Her long snow-white hair fluttered as she calmly looked around the room, her blindfolded eyes seeing nothing.
"Looks like I'm the first to arrive after Tiamoth." She said in a tone that conveyed that she wasn't surprised at the situation.
"Ah, Madam Noire. It's good to see that you have arrived safely. Although I imagine that not a lot could challenge you." Death said in a friendly mocking tone.
Noire ughed boisterously at Death's words. "The only ones who could are present," she said while taking off her jacket revealing her curvaceous and muscled figure. A figure that was barely held and covered by her clothing. Noire went and sat down on the throne numbered three, her jacket casually tossed over the back of it. Noire yawned in tiredness, revealing her vampiric fangs and long tongue. She had only woken up about an hour before this meeting and her body was still waking up.
Any that looked upon her and didn't know of the absolute monster she was would be entranced by her transient beauty. She was beautiful, not quite the same level as Tiamoth but she brought a different vibe to the table. Tiamoth was like a queenly mother who threatened to suffocate you in her breasts while Noire was more like a tomboyish back-alley fighter, despite her looks. Both are beautiful but a different type of attractive.
They didn't have to wait long before another guest arrived, the third female monarch and the least conventionally attractive. She was tall but her thin, wiry body was covered in chitinous ptes that revealed purple-scaled flesh underneath as she moved. The only thing that looked human was the upper half of her head but everything else looked like a child disassembled a bunch of toys, stuck them all together, and then painted them a simir color so they looked more natural. She looked like a veritable chimera but despite all the different parts of her they were somehow in a coherent matter that looked like they evolved naturally and it wasn't the machinations of a mad wizard.
She skidded into the room, her organic bde high heels scrapping across the floor with a sound more grating than nails on a chalkboard, and her four moth-like wings were furled like a parachute to slow her down. She barely managed to stop before her crotch rammed into the jutting corner of the table. She paid little attention to the accident that almost happened and just quickly looked around the room. When she saw that she was the fourth one there she started cackling like an insane person.
"I finally beat that bitch here! Hahahahahahahahahaha! I finally managed to outspeed her! The next time we duel she's going to be in for a surprise! Hahahahahahaha!" she started jubintly yelling as her body started letting out sickening cracks and crunches as it started morphing.
She finished her manic ughter as her body finished changing. She had gone from a thin and wiry body that specialized in speed to a conventional humanoid shape. She was still covered in chitinous ptes with purple-scaled flesh and moth-like wings but a few things had changed. Sharp talons made of chitin topped her fingers, and four bded limbs sprouted from her back, two from the back of her shoulders and the others from the back of her hips, her body took the shape of a mother who has had several children, and two rows of teeth like spikes id across her, starting from her shoulders and went across her breasts before meeting in the gap between them.
Tiamoth looked at her like a mother enjoying a child's shenanigans, Noire paid no attention to her, instead, she was reclining on the throne with her blindfolded face looking towards the ceiling, and Death's face was inscrutable due to him having no muscles or skin to judge by, but his fmes had dulled a bit before they went back towards their normal brightness.
"You seem pleased with yourself Shar," said Tiamoth, her deep purple colored draconic eyes squinted to cover the scrutinizing and analyzing of the form Shar previously took. She had identified seventy species that made up that form and she had already figured out the many weaknesses it held. She wouldn't say anything about it as that would shatter Shar's fragile ego when it came to her chimeric forms. Her present form was her general purpose form and it had over a hundred species in it despite looking the least complicated. Her previous one seemed to specialize in speed but not much else. Tiamoth had already figured out several combinations that could make it faster and more useful in battle but withheld them for simir reasons as the previous comment. She wasn't as deadly as the first camity. Yet. She was gd that Shar knew better than to assimite dragons into herself. That would guarantee her near divine wrath falling upon her.
Shar began to gloat about how she made that form while going to her seat, the throne numbered five. After almost ten minutes of small talk between the four a set of heavy metallic footfalls were heard. They all knew who it was but almost all of them looked towards the doorway.
A humanoid figure stepped out of the bck gloom. At first gnce, they looked like someone in mind-boggling amounts of armor but a second gnce soon showed what they really were. The six-armed azure and gold automaton spared nary a gnce examining the room and its occupants before walking towards the throne numbered four.
"Hello everyone, and a wonderful Walpurgis to you all as well," it said in an almost childlike voice.
"Hello and good Walpurgis to you as well Faust," responded Death. The others greeted Faust in kind. He always seemed to treat these meetings like an annual holiday or festival. Which it was in a way but just not in the way that would normally be considered one. It meant something only to those who attended these meetings.
Some more small talk happened for a few minutes between those present before another set of footfalls was heard, this one light and barely perceptible to most present. The st female monarch walked through the entryway. She was at least two heads taller than everyone present except Tiamoth, and that was only if you counted her horns as height. The loose kimono she wore showed off her lic skin and heavily muscled and endowed body in all aspects including the huge bulge of her phallus that was barely hidden under her kimono. She had curved tusk-like fangs like a hannya mask and two curved bck horns protruding out of her short ashen hair. The most noticeable feature of her current appearance was the bck lipstick covering various parts of her breasts, neck, and probably elsewhere. Everything but the lipstick was due to her oni blood and the blood of Lilith, one of the most infamous demons during The Sundering and the first futanari to exist in this world.
Her ruby eyes zily examined the room before she yawned deeply. She zily sauntered towards the throne numbered six.
"Sorry about being ter than usual. My wife just entered into her estrus phase and wouldn't let me go," she announced in a tired deep, and husky feminine voice. Her comment got her a sour look from Noire, the only one in that room not in a retionship or did not need a sexual retionship.
"I understand that Ashura. My royal knight Crysalia kept begging me to sleep with her for an entire week before I finally caved. The species with a cyclical reproductive period can be a pain at times." Shar responded.
She just didn't mention that she had given Crysalia that cyclical cycle as Shar found her desperate pleas for her mistress's loving embrace to be highly arousing. So much so that she was actively controlling her body so that it wouldn't enter her own reproductive cycle just by thinking about it. Shar loved being the Hive Mother of the Arach-Shar, where all her depraved fantasies could be inflicted on her mono-gendered subjects and they would thank her for it. She was gd that she had given herself two brains as she was able to continue the small talk at the table while thinking of all the depraved things she could get up to with her closest aides when she got back. She was beginning to feel the urge to reproduce anyway and they would gdly receive their queen's seed. She loved being an Ur, and so did her aides.
The small talk went on for almost an hour when Death checked his pocket watch. Five minutes till the new year on the divine calendar. He did not doubt that most of the gods were partying in the divine realm. But it only meant that this would probably be all the guests he would receive this Walpurgis. Most of the founding five members and 'The Wind Yakshini'. Not the worst lineup to discuss the future of the mortal realm with and not the least amount to show up either. There was a time when it was only him and Tiamoth present. That Walpurgis turned into more of a venting session than anything else as the two tried to get drunk but couldn't due to their physiology. Death let out a sigh as he remembered that day, but his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of bare feet walking up the stairs, along with the tapping of a cane. He shot a look towards Tiamoth who only smiled at him.
A humanoid figure so tall he had to duck through the doorway emerged. He wore noble robes of bck and gold which contrasted against his ashen skin. He smiled at the shocked faces of almost everyone and went to his throne. The one numbered two.
"Good New Divine Year's Eve everyone," he said after he had finished sitting down and began pying with his bck, wooden cane with a silver goat's head on the top. "I'm sure most of you have questions but let's leave that until after Walpurgis. Death can you begin the council? I'm sure that I will be the st to arrive."
With an almost suspiciously perfect timing a bell chime went off as soon as he said that, marking the beginning of the divine's new year. Death just nodded while summoning seven floating tomes and quills to mark down all that was said.
"Here marks the beginning of the nine hundredth Walpurgis, the meeting of all twelve true monarchs of the world and the impartial observer. Those present are 'The Queen of Midnight's Gloam' Tiamoth, 'The Ashen King' Reaven, 'The Nightbringer' and 'The Ur of Vampires' Noire, 'The Azure Deva' Faust, 'The Consuming Queen' and 'The Ur of the Arach-Shar' Shar, 'The Wind Yakshini' Ashura, and finally myself, Death 'The Inevitable End'. Let us now begin the discussions on how we shall better the world."
