Dyn sat in his office, the rgest one in the building despite only being used by one person. He was leaning back in his fancy, pink-feather covered chair, just like everything else in the room. His feet were up on the table, acting without a care in the world as to how unprofessional he looked.
He had his phone in his hand, chatting along with his brother about nothing in particur, although it was mostly him compining and Rosinante having to stay there and listen.
He wasn't doing much except zying around, however, that was normal for him. Since his father’s sudden death, he inherited this company, although he focuses on being the face of it and just lets his brother do most of the dirty work.
He was hanging around a specific location of the company a lot, too, which was his favourite one. There was nothing special about it, although not maybe knew what. But he knew that his soulmate worked there; even if he didn't get to see her a lot. He just knew her name. Oh, that beautiful name.
Cir.
He rarely talked to her properly since that time, although he thinks about her a lot. He went through old company files dating back years ago and paperwork even he wasn’t supposed to have access to all just to find more about her, imagining every detail of their future together for hours on end instead of doing any work.
He’d make up pn after pn in his head of how he’d approach her, how he’d easily win over her heart if he hadn’t already, the way she’d give herself to him on command and make all of his wildest fantasies into a sweet sweet reality.
If it wasn’t to his stupid brother holding him back, he would have already made her his long ago.
For now, at least, he got to hang around the location, terrorizing the people who worked for him and making them stay long hours with minimal pay.
And that's how he was pnning on spending the rest of his day, if it wasn't for a young woman barging into his office in the middle of a phone call and yelling "Dyn, sir, help me! M, my life is being threatened… Someone’s trying to assault me!” Emotionally, almost as dramatic as he was.
Dyn scoffed, rolling his gss-covered eyes in annoyance. He really didn't want to deal with anyone right now, as he was busy venting on the phone as if the other person was a diary, but the girl was lucky he was in the mood to agree. He mumbled “Hold on, I’ll call you back,” to the phone before shutting it off and smming it down on the table.
"What do you want?" He growled, turning to the woman.
Stiffening up at the man's angry attitude, she tried acting more mature, realizing that she should probably act more professional. "Dandy-" She cleared her throat, "Ahem. Dyn, I was just in my office trying to work, when one of your employees tried to attack and inappropriately touch me!" She excimed with an overdramatic gasp.
Dyn raised an unimpressed eyebrow, reluctantly getting up from his chair. "Your name?" He asked, figuring he could send someone else to go deal with the issue.
"Bea," She answered, before adding in a mock-sad tone "And my attacker's name is Cir."
It was as if the moment she uttered that word, Dyn froze, his head feeling giddy from just hearing the name.
He was going to see Cir again. His Cir.
He turned back to look at Bea, his previously irritated expression changing into a grin. A sinister, mischievous grin.
"Is it now?" He hummed, a low chuckle escaping his lips as he walked closer and towered over the girl. "And where might this… Cir person be, huh?~”
Bea blinked, a little off-put by her boss's sudden shift in attitude. But she complied. "Right, yes, of course! Follow me," She huffed, turning to the door and starting to walk.
Dyn walked after her, grinning to himself. He didn't usually get so excited, but he couldn't help picturing him seeing Cir again. He'd only managed to see his soulmate a few times since that day, but every time she kept trying to dodge him. Silly woman.
But finally, he'd get to see her again. He’s have her all to himself, no where to run. He’d have his perfect little dream come to reality.
He followed Bea as she led him down the hall, not really paying attention to the rambling of what had happened. He was practically stuck in his mind, chuckling lowly as he thought about all the things he could do to Cir when he finds her. Last time he saw her, she looked so beautiful, a vulnerable little princess waiting for her prince to come take control.
And finally, they arrived, the blond Turning back in time to hear Bea speak. "Here she is! Dyn, help me! She- she’s going to attack me!" She yelped, her reaction so obviously faked. She pointed to Cir who stood in the doorframe, her expression turning pale when he saw Dyn’s face.
Gsses-covered eyes met grey ones as the two stared into each other's eyes.
Looks like the princess found her… knight.
And the only thing Dyn could think was, ‘checkmate’.
"So… Cir," He started, his tone mischievous as he walked closer, "What a name. Feels so… nostalgic,” He teased. “Have you been harassing my employees? You know I can’t allow that~"
Cir quickly shook her head, looking like she wished the ground would swallow her whole. “No, no, not at all! You have to listen to me. It was just a misunderstanding,”
Dyn’s grin grew wider as he looked at those lovely panicked eyes. He wanted to tear them off and put them in a pretty little jar he’d keep next to his bed. “A misunderstanding, huh~?” He hummed, pretending to think about it, “Why don’t you come to my office and we can... discuss this?”
It didn’t take a genius to know Cir’s heart dropped at the offer. It wasn't like she could say no, either, as the policy wasn’t even supposed to allow for further questioning instead of firing her on the spot. So much for feminism. And still, he found it adorable to see her look so hopeless.
”I... alright,” she mumbled weakly.
No protest, no arguing, no nothing. Just as Dyn loved.
Even if something felt a bit off, he pushed it aside to focus on the giddy feeling he had at the knowledge that he was so close to having her all to himself. What a poor little thing. She sure was lucky to have him instead of some awful man who wouldn’t care for her.
As if anyone could love her as much as he did.
“Follow me, then~ You’re gonna want to remember where it is, I hope to see you visit more from now on.”
Cir swallowed tightly. She didn’t add a word before moving behind him, starting to follow as they walked away.
Leaving everyone else to watch as she walked away with Dyn.
Just Dyn.
All to himself.
Dyn gnced back for another look at his soulmate’s distraught attitude, only to see Bea following behind them. His smirk immediately dropped and he turned his head to her.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
”With you two,” She said, “You shouldn’t let any of your workers treat a woman like this. I could sue you for misogyny, you know!”
Dyn scoffed, already fed up with her. He felt like choking her just for stalling his fun.
”Very well, if that’s what you’re worried about, go back inside. I’ll make sure this doesn’t happen again… right, Cir?~” He looked back at her, smirking again as her turn her head away.
Good, he thought, she knows her pce.
Bea huffed, giving Cir one st gre before turning around. “Fine,” she grumbled, “But I expect compensation from her sary.”
Cir’s face twitched, and Dyn just barely stopped himself from reacting much worse. Of course, all she cared about was money. But, unlike Dyn, she wasn’t nearly good enough to achieve the success he did.
”Ah, but spoiling the result is no fun~” Dyn cooed, enjoying how ever little thing he said affected the still silent Cir so much. It was so fun pying with her.
Without another word, the man resumed his walking, chuckling to himself as he saw Cir begrudgingly follow him. The sight was so beautiful, he wished he could just fill his walls up with pictures of this gorgeous woman.
As the two silently walked through the hallway, Dyn couldn’t say he was surprised by the looks they got. After all, it wasn’t exactly usual for the boss to bring someone into his office, let alone be seen walking next to them and smiling.
He did manage to sneak an arm behind her shoulders as they walked, knowing that one wrong move would be a catastrophe. Even if she would try to call it sexual assault like Bea did, he doubts she’ll convince anyone.
Besides, she so clearly enjoyed it too; he was sure of it.
Finally, after what felt like forever, they reached his office. Dyn sat himself down on his chair before pulling one up for Cir, seeing her hesitate and scowl at the pink accessories around the room. But in the end, she complied, sitting her perfect body on all that pink fluff.
Dyn grinned.
”So, Crumbs.... Can I call you that?” He asked, immediately continuing before giving her a chance to answer, “I was told you’ve been harassing some of the girls here… I doubt someone as pretty as you can be one of ‘them’, though~”
”It was only one,” Cir said, protesting immediately. “And it’s harassment or whatever else she lied about. She was saying things about my son, and I-“
”Your son?” Dyn cut off, raising an eyebrow. His soulmate had a son? That means she was clearly with someone else. The thought made him bite his lip. Why would Cir do this to him? They were so clearly meant to be, didn’t she know they were perfect for each other?
Cir paused, unsure why she was being questioned, but hesitantly continued. “Yes, my son.”
”How old is he?”
”Five, sir.”
Dyn snickered, imagining to himself a toddler that looks like Cir. He hoped he had her lustrous bck hair, having a mini version of her around would be like a dream. He’d give them both the life that they deserved.
”Five, huh?” He chuckled, taking the chance to get to know the woman instead of discussing the incident that just happened. He could guess that she still felt a bit upright, but he didn’t want it to be that way. He wanted her to rex. He wanted her to feel safe.
He wanted her to give into him.
“And no need to call me sir, Crumbs~” He continued, “We’re friends, right? So rex~” He added, finally trying something after so long of being held back. He scooted his chair a little closer, pcing one of his hands on the backrest of it.
To any bystander, the scene would make them look close, maybe even like a couple. And that thought excited him endlessly.
Cir shifted uncomfortably, feeling an arm just barely graze her back. ”I doubt that’s necessary.” Cir told him, finally gaining the courage to protest. Maybe she just needs a little more convincing.
”Yes, Crumbs, we’re friends!” He cooed, brushing a strand of hair away from his own face, “We have so much in common, after all. I have a son, too, you know~ Well, my brother does, but I’m sure he won’t mind if I borrow the kid for a bit. They can have a little py-date together,” He said, drawling his words out pyfully, “And we could also have one, maybe after they leave~”
Cir stiffened up. Checkmate. He almost felt like crying due to how long things were taking, but it was going well, right? She was about to give up. Give in. Give herself.
She gnced towards the door, shifting for a moment as if she was getting up to leave. Dyn finally snapped, grabbing her chin impatiently. Now he had a hand on either side of her, perfectly trapped between him. He didn’t care that he had work to do, and he didn’t care that anybody could walk through the door at that moment. He needed her, and he needed it now.
”I said,” He repeated, his voice more stern this time, “I think we should have a little py date, too…”
That was it. He was about to get what he was waiting for. He was going to finally have his happily ever after. His dream. His love was about to agree. How could anyone say no to such an offer? He was the perfect man. He was rich, he could take care of them, he would worship her more than any religion, he would give her the life she deserves if she gives him what he wants. Just one more moment and he was going to get it.
But why did he feel like he was doing something wrong?
“Dyn!”
Dyn’s head snapped to see his brother standing at the door, panting. His clothes and hair were all messed up, and his tie was made wrong. He scowled.
”Why, why haven’t you been answering my calls? I was with one of our biggest clients and you just,” The man, Rosinante, asked, panting as if he’d just ran over here. He gnced at Cir. “And who is that?”
Dyn’s eyes gnced to his desk, his phone on mute and probably have been exploding with calls and text from his brother. He didn’t want anything to disturb his precious moment with his love.
”I’m busy,” Dyn growled, slowly letting go of her face. Cir looked like a mix of wanting to punch him and dread from knowing she can’t, and despite what he imagined, it didn’t look as great as he thought it would. He much prefers her sterner like the first time they met. It made his eye twitch in irritation. Why weren’t all the pieces fitting together? This was supposed to be his happy moment.
A loud groan was all Rosinante replied with. Dyn didn't really care to help him, but he did care about his brother. "Dyn," He repeated, "We need you. Now. One of dad's old business partners is here, I had to pause a meeting when you left, and,"
"I don't care. I'm busy. Figure it out yourself." Dyn said, however his tone did soften just slightly. Out of the few people he’d even notice besides himself, which he could probably count on two fingers, he couldn’t bring himself to yell at his brother. Maybe it was guilt, maybe it was some blood over water kind of thing, but seeing his brother sad didn’t make him happy.
But losing this moment would be a lot worse.
"Dyn, listen, we-"
Finally, he stood up. He knew he was leaving Cir unattended, but he needed to sort this out. Plus, he was confident she wouldn’t leave. She knows her pce. She knows she wants him. Why wouldn’t she give in? It’s only natural.
Rosi sighed. It wasn’t had to tell what was going on in his mind as he shook his head, trying again, “You don’t understand, we have to do this,”
However, he stopped at the sound of a chair being pulled back only to see Cir, hands now in pockets, walk out of the room like she was at some kind of bar. She was looking away so her expression was hard to figure out, but either way Dyn did not like this at all.
"Where do you think you're going?" He asked, turning to face her.
Cir looked at him, a confidence on her face that was cking before. The type that showed she wasn’t going to take any bullshit, which for some reason made Dyn’s chest flutter. He wished she would look at him like that all day, every day. However, he had to keep his cool.
"I didn't dismiss you," He warned.
At this point, the only thing stopping Dyn from lunging at Cir was the fact that people around him were watching, specifically his brother. He didn’t doubt Rosi could guess he had other intentions with her, and would probably try to stop him.
"You can’t force me to stay here, legally. I'll have a good wsuit on my hands if you even threaten to fire me over that.”
Dyn scowled at that word. Legally. When did some stupid rules ever stop him from doing whatever he wanted? He could tell that she was bluffing about suing him, too. As if she could afford a wyer, he knew how much she made. But the fact she had the nerve to stand up to him like that, the cold look in her eye as she stared into his eyes. He was one of the tallest people he knew, and she was inches away from eye level.
That, now, is what he’d call attractive, highlighted by the way he could feel his heart melt.
"‘Hard to get’, huh?" He scoffed, straightening himself up before turning back to his brother. "Fine then. Finish the day, go back your stuff. I better not see your face in this company again."
If he would have turned around to look at her, he would've seen the look of terror take over her face, but he didn't care. He needed to see if she would obey him, or call on his bluff once more. Of course, he didn’t want her to leave. He didn’t think she would, either. But he couldn’t help but want just another excuse to torment that woman who can’t seem to leave his mind.
Plus, if she did leave, at least what he was pnning would be a tad more acceptable. Though, he’s too far gone to really care about anything like that.
Dyn scoffed as he shut the door to his car, smming it so hard that it felt like it would break. Well, it wasn’t like it mattered much, anyway, as he could always take a small ‘company loan’ to cover a new one.
What he really was upset about, though, was Cir, and the fact that he had just possibly fired her.
Surely she would come back the next day, right? He knew that she couldn't survive without this job, the pay was bad enough to ensure saving is not a possibility, so she has to come back. And yet, there was still a small pit that formed in his stomach when he thought about losing her due to this stupid mistake.
His hands gripped the steering wheel, feeling the anger bubble up in him as he pressed down the gas as hard as possible, leaving a trail of pink feathers behind him as he sped off.
He was annoyed at himself for letting Cir go, but even more so at her for not staying there like he wanted her to. For disobeying him. It made his blood boil just to think about it. For all he knows, Cir could go home to that partner of hers as if she wasn’t meant for him. Just forget about him as if she didn’t also feel that spark he was so sure he felt.
He couldn't let that happen.
Without thinking twice, he strayed off from his usual path back home, taking a sharp right turn. He wasn't sure where he was going, but he knew that he'd seen Cir's car go that way the few times he sneaked around to watch it. If he was lucky, he'd find a way back to his house ter.
Although he rarely managed to see her before getting this role, he always watched from a distance; getting every little detail he could, even if she was awfully secretive about her life. It only sted for a few months, but they felt like years for him.
He huffed, thinking how his soulmate deserved so much better than them being apart. She deserved to be with him, drive his fancy cars, and be dispyed like a precious trophy. He'd keep her with him whenever he went, treating her like a queen. His precious queen that loves him.
The thought made a smirk grow on his face, although he quickly focused back on the road. As much as he didn't care to crash the car he was driving, he didn't want to get himself into an accident. He was far too important to get injured, and he didn't have time to waste when he could see Cir instead.
Despite knowing that he shouldn't, he continued down the path, knowing he was driving way over the speed limit but still going without a care in the world. There was a lot of traffic around, and he only scratched up against a few cars, so it wouldn't be too long before he could catch up to her, right?
And, despite all odds, he did. He really did have the best luck, which proved to him just how unreal karma was.
He could see a familiar small car in the corner of his eye, which prompted him to do some moves that only earned him a few honks to get closer.
And the closer the car looked, the more his smile widened, locating the license pte and knowing it matched up perfectly. If he squinted his eyes enough, he swore that he could see the back of Cir's head from where he sat, driving slowly in a contrast to himself.
There was nothing more he wanted than to jump out of his car at that moment and grab Cir. He'd put her in his passenger's seat and put his hand on her arm or leg, maybe tell her about how beautiful she looked and impress her with how fast he could drive. The thought excited him to no end, and he had to force himself to stay focused on the road.
However, he kept his distance, even if begrudgingly. He knew that Cir felt the same; they were soulmates, after all, but it would be irrational of him to just confront her like that. She just needed a little... encouragement.
Right. Encouragement. He was sure that if he pulled up to talk to her, well, she really wouldn't mind. He'd just drive after her and stop next to her house, then they could have their little chat. It's a perfect pn.
After all, every prince has a dragon to sy. And his just might wither away by itself with enough patience.
