The Revelation

It was a warm Saturday afternoon when Ravi found out. His girlfriend Bianca saw Kay’s IG post.

  He froze.

When Bianca showed him the post, his arms crossed, face tight. The ring sparkled in the sunlight.Ravi’s entire body went rigid.

  He messaged her, “You’re engaged?”

  She replied "yes."

His heart sank and asked. “When were you going to tell me? After the wedding?”

She swallowed hard and replied. “I was trying to find the right time.”

“There is no right time to marry the man who betrayed me.”

Kay’s trembled and wrote “He didn’t betray you, Ravi. He loved me. And I loved him. I still love him. This isn’t some fling. It never was.”

Ravi ran a hand through his hair, trying to breathe. “He raised you like a little sister—”

“No,” she cut in. “He tolerated me. He never saw me until I grew up. And when he did… we fought it. For years. But it never stopped. We tried to move on. We tried to forget. But we couldn’t.”

Then, Kay replied, “I want you there. At the wedding. Even if you’re angry. Even if you hate me. I want my brother with me.”

Ravi didn’t reply...he pushed the phone away and sulked.
