CHAPTER 3 " Game of Predators "

Lia barely survived her first day before realizing Xenith Heights

She walked into the classroom, head high, shoulders squared. Then BANG“Oops.” She turned sharply, locking eyes with Edrix Charles. Loose tie, blazer slung over one shoulder, smirk ice-cold. he drawled. The class howled. Felix Carter grinned from his desk. Aurora Sinclair feigned sympathy.

Lia straightened, eyes scanning the room. The smirks. The whispers. The anticipation. Like vultures circling fresh meat. A few students muttered bets under their breath how long before she snapped? How long before she ran? The weight of expectation pressed down, daring her to fold. But Lia wasn’t here to crumble.

She took a step forward, straight into Edrix’s space. His smirk flickered. Just a little. “Done?” Her voice was calm. Almost bored. He expected anger, embarrassment maybe fear. What did he get instead? A smirk. she murmured. Edrix’s jaw tensed.

Lia leaned in, voice smooth as silk, sharp as steel. She chuckled softly, shaking her head. A sharp inhale. His fingers twitched at his side. Lia’s grin widened. she whispered, stepping even closer. She let the words hang, eyes gleaming.

A dangerous chuckle. Edrix licked his lips, eyes flashing with something dark, something amused. His grip tightened on his blazer. The air was electric, and the class holding its breath. Then his voice cut through the silence. He turned, glancing at Felix and Aurora. And just like that, he walked out, leaving nothing but tension in his wake.

  the war has begun.
