Interlude: Assassins Guild Hall, Seven Years Ago

‘He has been bound.’ The announcement finally came to the Assassin's Guild headquarters. The sound echoed through the hall, disturbing the silence. ‘May the council rise for the trial of The Summer Killer.’ Every last member stood up in unison, as a bound figure was slowly dragged into a seat, bruised all over.

‘On the grounds of assassinating a protected person of the Assassin’s Guild, The Summer Killer is pronounced guilty. Punishment shall be death by hanging.’ The verdict hung in the air long after it was given. The Summer Killer was to be hanged, finally stopping his criminal spree.

And yet... There was no pleading. No begging for mercy. In fact, he stayed completely still. Receding into the shadows. Silence overtook the room once more. Until a figure was there. He wasn't, but then he was.

The figure was entrapped by the shadow and silence, even when it moved to a member of the Council.

  THWAP!

The noise shattered the tension and silence. Cries erupted from the confused Council members. Then, a blue glow overtook the figure. And it shook them to the core, as…

The Summer Killer stood there with a blue glow accompanying his presence. All the bruises… gone. He moved with fluidity and precision as his short sword penetrated another member’s bicuspid valve, and quickly flew out as it came in. Then the glow disappeared.

All was silent once more, aside from the gurgling sound of choking on blood.

  Coming from #16 and 17.
