Or drove them towards her home. Her car looked less showy than Mom's fshy car, a very functional Lexus in metallic silver. Yet, Or's car exuded quiet confidence. It moved through traffic smoothly and courteously. Even during stop lights, her engine hummed pleasantly.
For short instances, Or's attentive gaze swept through her reflections in the rearview mirror. Then she turned to steal quick gnces at Ruby. When it lingered, it warmed. Whenever it passed her, she tensed. It was entirely different than Mom's gcial gres, all-knowing smirk, filled with an ominous undertone.
Inside her tight skirt, Ruby dug her nails against her skin, kneading imaginary dough, ruining them. Her weak fists clutched, unfurled and racked, tried turning them inside-out and failed.
Then Or noticed. She smiled. She craned her neck sideways at a traffic intersection, meeting her gaze fully. "I have my own penthouse. There is still time for ourselves before the night begins. Will you join me?"
That incited immense struggle within Ruby. Of course, she nodded.
"Great." Or can allure people through mere smiles. They transformed her entire person, brightening her countenance, capturing attention with her charms. "It's all settled. Let's get you all dolled up. The night might mean something important for us."
That beautiful smile finally broke through all facades; it held infectious joy, bubbling mirth, twinkling-eyed eagerness, and most of all, radiant acceptance. It elicited a natural response within Ruby, flooding her insides, building them toward inferno, until her lips grinned uncontrolbly, matching hers.
When they arrived, Or drove her car easily through intimidating gates. Or's apartment block rose above the streets, giving it a pristine vantage view. Or parked her vehicle in the underground parking space, each named and allotted for a specific resident.
Then she led Ruby towards one elevator, shut its doors, and pulled Ruby beside her, edging her against her body, where her thigh touched her. When the elevator doors opened, they emerged on a deep, rich carpet.
"Don't be shy." Or stepped out and gave Ruby an inviting tug. "I own the entire top floor."
This didn't surprise Ruby. This penthouse offered several expansive windows that wrapped along its edges, filling it entirely. The walls alternated between open wall pnters and an unbroken gss facade, running perpendicur against opulently washed stucco.
It was sheer magic. Ruby meant the interior. Or's interiors oozed prestige.
Or took her directly inside, stopping only briefly outside the kitchen isnd. She hurriedly untied her suit jacket and removed them, draping them upon one high chair. "I need you freshly bathed." Her palm reached behind Ruby's nape, squeezing lightly. Then, she drew her further along the hallway, nearing closer towards a soft and red maroon couch.
Or threw herself against the leather lounge, perfectly coordinating her fall. She propped her feet along pristine white furniture, sculpted wooden panels, and dark wood borders. "Let's try something easier. Which side?"
Ruby stared, nonplussed. She waited meeting Or's confident gaze. Her thoughts tumbled inside her brain; all crumbled. Ruby couldn't grasp any, pull them together, or hold them straight.
Or may address her patiently, and her voice may convey assurance, but she can also bring heat rising through her cheeks. It set Ruby's insides abze.
"I mean which side you want to sit? On my left or on my right?" Or patted both sides of the lounge.
Ruby ambled closer, pondering over the difficult choice, while Or moved with ophidian celerity. Her hand grabbed Ruby and pulled. A very simple gesture, effortless and teasing, and Ruby tumbled, falling straight on Or's awaiting p; knees bent on both sides pinning Or's thighs; her butt pnted on Or's p. Only the pcement of her arms on either side of Or's face prevented her lips from ciming Or's.
"That settles it." Orith stared mirthfully. Emerald eyes fixated on Ruby lips. "You can stay exactly where you are."
