I walked out of the Dining Hall and headed over to the front of our Estate where Jane and Cecil were already waiting for me standing next to our carriage.
My carriage isn’t pulled by horses—it’s powered by magic stones. Although this world closely resembles the one I came from, its technological advancements took a different path. Instead of relying on machinery or electricity, it has developed through the use of magic stones, enchanted tools, and alchemy. It's fascinating how they make this world modernize but in a different way.
I drifted off for a while during the carriage ride to Cece’s estate. The trip takes about an hour, and since early mornings have never been my strength, I’ve gotten into the habit of using the time for a brief nap.
I always bring my two attendants along, and they sit with me during my lessons. It took quite a bit of convincing to get the teachers to allow it—most of them take great pride in only teaching nobles or those they consider worthy of their instruction.
I had them sit with me because I needed their help, especially with mathematics. I wasn’t particurly good at it to begin with, and on top of that, this world uses entirely different theorems and methods. While my more mature mindset helps me keep up, being in a younger body does come with its limitations—my understanding isn’t always as sharp as it once was.
Stories of reincarnation, regression, or transmigration often portray protagonists as exceptionally clever geniuses who effortlessly adapt and thrive in their new lives. Maybe that works if you were brilliant to begin with. But me? I was just an ordinary person with an average upbringing.
That’s why I’ve had to work twice as hard to learn and adjust in this world. Still, I don’t see my “averageness” as a disadvantage. Growing up in a competitive environment taught me how to be adaptable and resourceful. That mindset is what led me to insist on having my attendants join me during lessons. They help take extra notes, and we go over the material together afterward—assignments, take-home activities, everything.
It’s not just for my benefit, either. They had to start working at a young age to support their families, sacrificing their education in the process. So in a way, we’re all learning together, helping each other grow.
