Chapter 76: The Red Silk Seals the Demon
Sanbao suddenly opened her eyes wide.
She quickly put away the *Divine Illumination Sutra*, and with rapid hand seals, she shouted sharply, "Break!"
A burst of white light erupted around her, pushing the red light surrounding her several inches back with brute force.
Taking a deep breath, Sanbao reached into the Seven Treasure Bracelet and pulled out a sewing needle. With determined steps, she walked towards the statue.
It seemed that the statue sensed her intentions. Its gaze shifted from Gu Xiaotu to Sanbao, and two beams of crimson light shot out toward her.
The white light barrier around Sanbao began to flicker violently under the intense red beams, and it looked like it would shatter at any moment.
Just as the red light was about to overwhelm her, the Seven Treasure Bracelet on her left wrist suddenly erupted with dazzling light.
With a meow, Sanbao’s beloved Three-Flower Cat leaped out of the Seven Treasure Bracelet and nded between her and the statue, blocking the two crimson beams with its small body.
"Three-Flower Cat!" Sanbao cried out in pain.
She saw her tiny companion enveloped by the red light. Its fur quickly turned yellow and withered, but it still stood firm, blocking the beams for her.
At that moment, Sanbao sharply felt that the red light in the temple had started to fade.
In an instant, she realized that the statue was absorbing too many life forces at once, and its power had been dispersed.
Gripping her teeth, Sanbao seized the opportunity. She took three quick steps and reached the statue, grabbing the red silk that was fluttering.
It turned out that the red silk binding the statue was missing a rge section— it had clearly been cut off. No wonder the evil statue had escaped its restraints and was using its blood-sucking powers. It seemed that this red silk was the key to sealing the statue’s evil power.
The statue seemed to understand Sanbao’s intent. It began to shake violently, and the entire small temple trembled with it. The stone walls creaked, as if they were about to colpse at any moment.
Sanbao took a deep breath, calmed her mind, and quickly threaded the needle. She didn’t care whether the stitches were neat or not as she began sewing along the tear in the red silk.
Soon, the red silk was re-stitched, fully covering the statue and binding it once again.
With the red silk sealed, the crimson light from the statue was completely blocked. The other four people in the temple were freed!
Gu Xiaotu crashed to the ground like a kite with its string cut, nding heavily. There was a ctter as Wang Suifeng’s *Gcial Snow Sword* and Qin Liangguang’s knife both fell to the floor, narrowly missing Shi Mengsong, who had colpsed onto the ground.
Sanbao immediately rushed over to Three-Flower Cat, gently scooping it up. Tears welled in her eyes and fell freely.
Three-Flower Cat nudged her arm weakly, then fell into a deep, peaceful sleep in her arms. It was still warm to the touch, though it had lost too much blood— it was no longer in any real danger.
Wang Suifeng retrieved several pills from his pouch and distributed them among the group. He also instructed Qin Liangguang to make sure Gu Xiaotu and Shi Mengsong took theirs.
As the pills were swallowed, a warm current quickly spread throughout their bodies, reviving their strength. The group, once weakened from blood loss, felt their energy returning rapidly.
Sanbao pced Three-Flower Cat back into the Seven Treasure Bracelet, took her own pill, and rested for a moment. She then turned to Wang Suifeng and asked, "Is this a *Vitality Pill*?"
Wang Suifeng smiled and nodded. "Yes, it’s the *Vitality Pill* from the Medicine Valley. Normally, one of these goes for a low-grade spirit stone or two thousand gold coins. Since we’re all in this together, I’m giving them out for free today."
The st part was clearly directed at Qin Liangguang and the others.
After taking the pill, Gu Xiaotu’s energy quickly recovered, and he opened his eyes. He suddenly spped his thigh and excimed, "I remember now! You’re the young master of the Sea City Wang family and the heir to the Medicine Valley— Wang Suifeng!"
"That’s right!" Wang Suifeng said with a smug smile.
Sanbao gnced at Qin Liangguang, Gu Xiaotu, and Shi Mengsong, noticing the greedy and envious looks on their faces. She couldn’t help but mutter inwardly, *Hmph, ‘young master’? If it weren’t for me saving you, even ten of those 'young masters' would be gone!*
Just as the atmosphere became slightly awkward, a loud scream echoed into the temple.
Wang Yuanying burst into the temple, her hair and clothes disheveled, covered in dirt and leaves. She was clearly out of breath, as though she had been crawling back in a hurry.
Wang Suifeng sneered, "Didn’t Miss Wang run off to save herself? Why did she come back?"
Qin Liangguang sighed and said nothing, just watching Wang Yuanying. Even Shi Mengsong remained silent, continuing to meditate and recover his strength.
Wang Yuanying ignored Wang Suifeng’s sarcasm, gasping for air as she shouted, "There are monsters! A lot of monsters are coming!"
Wang Suifeng immediately released his spiritual senses to investigate, his face darkening. "Indeed, there are many things moving toward the temple. But they have unsteady footsteps and weak spiritual power. Even if they are monsters, their combat strength is limited. The only problem is that there are so many of them!"
Qin Liangguang and the others, whose cultivation levels were lower, couldn’t sense anything. They looked nervously toward the direction of the temple door.
Wang Suifeng spoke sternly, "This temple has no front door. If we hide here, we’re just waiting to die. Our only option is to fight our way out!"
The group drew their weapons. Qin Liangguang and Gu Xiaotu gripped their knives, Shi Mengsong flexed his now-metalized arms, and Wang Suifeng tightly gripped his *Gcial Snow Sword*.
Sanbao began to gather her spiritual energy, preparing herself. Several ice spikes materialized above her head, all aimed toward the temple door, as she braced herself for the coming battle.
The sound of approaching footsteps grew louder and louder. Soon, the monsters swarmed toward the temple.
These creatures were all withered corpses, like mummies!
Their skin was dry and yellowed, their heads deformed and swollen, with deep, hollow eye sockets.
They were dressed in tattered clothes, and their mouths emitted hoarse growls as they staggered forward, pouring into the small temple...
