Aven and the siblings were soon seated at one of the few available tables. It was located on the right far of the restaurant, against the wall. Conner and Chloe sat on one end of the table, and she sat across from them.
The receptionist woman from before, Taylor, Aven believed she introduced herself as, stood at the side of the table, placing down tri-fold menus for the trio to look at.
“We’ll have one of the waitresses come and take your order when you’re all ready,” she declared, the same professional smile stuck on her face.
Aven bit back a scoff. Before, she was so hesitant to accept the children into their establishment. But after being tossed a bag of gold coins, her entire attitude changed. The dark fey felt whiplash from it.
She smiled back at the receptionist. “Thank you.”
Once the woman left, Aven turned her attention to the menu, seeing her options. From what the pamphlet displayed, there was quite a variety of meals they could choose from. All of them with rather extraordinary names like Wild Boar Roast, Basilisk Stew, Grilled Kraken, and so much more.
She recognized some of the food items from Realm of Myein, which made her more inclined to try them out the most. Just the thought of tasting the Basilisk Stew her avatar would always eat in the game made her salivate.
While looking at the menu, the siblings’ gazes lingered on her. She noticed their eyes and placed her pamphlet down.
“What’s wrong?” She asked, her voice even yet tinged with worry.
Conner gulped before answering. “W-wasn’t that bag full of gold coins? A-are you sure it was wise to give it away so easily?”
Despite what he said, Aven knew that wasn’t what he was trying to ask. His real question was, is it okay to spend so much on us?
Honestly, that bag of coins she gave the receptionist was no different than chump change to her. She still had plenty in her Inventory. A lot, actually...

If there was one thing that Aven Willows and Avelyn Willoway had in common, it was that they were both filthy rich.
The only difference was that Avelyn’s money was inherited from her family’s legacy and company. Meanwhile, all the money Aven had was earned through her hard work and dedication. Something that Avelyn always envied.
Aside from her actual coinage, Aven had plenty of rare items in her inventory that she could sell for an extremely high price. And considering that several centuries have passed, they were likely even more valuable today.
So, in short, she was not short on cash. Not for quite a while, anyway.
A soft smile touched her lips as she looked at the twins. “Don’t worry about money. I have plenty to spare. Now, look through the menu and pick what you want. And please don’t hold back on my account. Enjoy yourself as payment for helping me.”
The siblings hesitated, looking conflicted with her request. But that internal conflict only lasted for a few seconds before they pulled up the menu. Their eyes sparkled at the choices they were offered. They eagerly pointed at the meals that caught their eyes to one another.
Aven watched with blissful nostalgia. She remembered being in a similar situation back in her old life.
Before she became the successor of the Willoway Company, Avelyn used to be a Tutor. It was mostly just a hobby since she still had certain responsibilities as the future owner of the Willoway Company. That and she usually taught young children.
But it was very fun for her. She liked teaching and made that into a small gig when she was in college.
Whenever she tutored some kids, she would reward them with meals from popular restaurants. With their parents' permission, of course.
But seeing the siblings eagerly trying to pick what meals they wanted reminded her of those peaceful and joyous moments from her tutoring days. And just remembering those moments made, sent a sharp pain in her chest as the melancholy thrummed in her soul.
If only I could go back to those...
Before finishing that thought, she remembered how she ended up in this world in the first place. The wish she made to the angel.
I wish to become a teacher...
Then an idea bloomed into existence.
Maybe she could actually achieve that dream in this world. After all, she was no longer burdened with the responsibility of managing the Willoway Company. She was free to do whatever she wanted, and no one could stop her.
Not her father. Not the Board of Directors. Nobody.
For the first time, Aven realized that she had complete autonomy over her actions. She could choose her own path.

A waitress approached their table. “Hello, are you ready to order?”
Aven’s thoughts snapped back to reality. She looked over at the siblings, who nodded, confirming that they knew what they wanted. Taking a quick look at the menu, her eyes landed on the waitress.
“Yes, we’re ready,” she answered.
The trio ordered their meals; Conner chose the Wyvern Brisket, and Chloe went for Smoked Roc. As for Aven, she decided to select the Basilisk stew, since it was her favorite back in the game.
Once they picked their meals and drinks, the waitress retreated to the kitchen to inform the chefs of their orders. Conner and Chloe stayed seated; anticipation plastered their faces. They were certainly looking forward to the food.
Even Aven was eager for their incoming meal. But as she sat in her chair waiting, her mind wandered back to her revelation of her freedom.
Since her life as the Successor of a family business was over, she had the opportunity to do what she really wanted. To teach.
The question now was how could she accomplish this?
The best way to do this was to simply find a school and apply there, but something told her that wasn’t going to be so simple. There were likely rules and requirements for people to apply as Professors and the like.
Not to mention possibly having a Degree in teaching, like on Earth.
Their food soon arrived, along with a new waitress who was bringing them. She set the plates down in front of three.
Aven stared at her meal, which was a wooden bowl with orange-brown soup inside, with meat and vegetables swimming in it.
The food smelled amazing. A rich, herbal aroma filled her nostrils, practically urging her to eat it.
Aven looked over at the twins, just as they started eating their respective meals.
Well, eating was an understatement. They were practically scarfing down their meals like their lives depended on it. Conner vigorously ripped off the meat from his skewer with his teeth, and Chloe stuffed her face with the smoked roc meat.
Aven fought to keep her expression neutral, not wanting to show her amusement over their actions. They’re really enjoying themselves.
She stared down at her food, practically salivating now. She took a spoonful of some broth and meat. It was heavenly. Each bite she took revealed layers of meat and vegetables in such a harmonizing symphony of flavor.
Is this what my avatar has been eating this whole time? She’s so lucky...
Despite the blissful experience, Aven’s face remained passive. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to express her joy over the meal, but she wished to maintain a dignified demeanor while in front of the kids.
The last thing she wanted to do was expose herself in such a childish manner. Even if her reaction warranted it.
The trio continued with their meal. The siblings chowed down without a care in the world while Aven took her time, savoring each bite with practiced grace.
Conner was soon done with his skewers, but his expression betrayed his desire for more. Thankfully, Aven noticed and quickly ordered more for him. She did the same for Chloe when she finished her meal.
By the time the siblings were done with their third serving, Aven was almost finished with her first one. It was clear that these kids never get much of a chance to eat such exquisite meals.
Then again, that was because of their social status. The most they could hope for would likely be pieces of moldy bread they found in an alleyway.
They must have it rough.
Looking at the siblings, Aven suddenly got an idea.
While being a regular teacher at a school might be difficult to achieve at the moment, that didn’t mean she couldn’t teach people in some other way.
She could take in apprentices. Take them in and teach them the one thing she was good at in this game. Magic.
And Aven was looking at two potential students. Her eyes lingered on the siblings, a small grin forming.
She leaned against the table, resting her hand against her chin. Yeah, that could work.
Earlier, Conner tried to use the [Burning Hands] spell. That meant he could use magic. Sure, his proficiency and speed in casting were terrible, but that was mostly because he didn’t have a proper teacher. Neither of them did.
In the right hands, Conner and Chloe could turn into wonderful mages. No...they will turn into wonderful mages. Aven would make certain of that.
Plus, this would also solve her other problem with keeping them from blabbing about her reappearance. So, it was two birds with one stone.
But that would only happen if they accepted her offer. So, it was time to make it.
“Conner, Chloe,” she announced their names, immediately drawing their attention from their food.
“Y-yes, miss Avelyn...?” Conner responded, his mouth still full of food.
“How would you two like to become my apprentices?” She went straight to the point, leaving no room for suspense.
The siblings froze like statues, trapped in a moment of disbelief, as if they couldn’t believe what they just heard. Conner, with a piece of meat still dangling out of his mouth, and Chloe, whose fork fell to her plate, making a sharp clink that echoed the gravity of Aven’s proposition.
They were surprised. That much was obvious.
Aven let the silence stretch for a moment, allowing the sibling pair to drink in what they just heard. Conner was the first to break the silence.
“A-are you saying y-you want to teach us...?” His lips trembled. “Teach us magic?”
She nodded, confirming his question without a single word uttered.
“I believe that it would be worthwhile to teach you how to use magic. I saw you trying to perform [Burning Hands] back at the cave, which means you possess the [Mage] class.” She leaned forward, keeping her gaze locked onto Conner’s. “All you need is someone with the skills and knowledge to properly teach you.”
Her gaze slid to Chloe, who involuntarily flinched.
“The same applies to you, Chloe. I can teach both of you. But that’s only if you are willing to accept my offer.”
The siblings looked at one another, their faces mixed with various expressions. Shock, hesitation, but most importantly, excitement. They continued to stare at one another, as if having a silent conversation.
Then, after a few moments, they shifted their attention back to Aven. The dark fey straightened, clasping her hands together, waiting for their answer.
“We accept,” Conner declared.
Chloe nodded in approval.
Aven’s smile broadened. Well, that was rather easy.
“Wonderful!” she clapped her hand before setting her food aside. “You made a wise choice, and you won’t regret it. Now-”
Her next words were cut off by the sound of shouting nearby, followed by someone slamming something against a table. Aven and the twins looked in the direction of the noise.
Her eyes narrowed with annoyance. Now what...?
