Caleb appeared back in the tomb exactly where he had been standing at before. Now a part of him said he should listen to what the big war god had said and check his status page. But currently he had a far more pressing and urgent concern:LOOT! It was the most important reason to go on adventures.
Going over to the corpse of the lich he began to search the body. He found a medallion around its neck and three rings. He noticed that the cloak that the lich wore was also extremely special. After gathering all of the items that had a special mana signature he inspected all of them.
Caleb was shocked seeing all his loot. Most shocking was the storage device. The space inside was larger than most hotel rooms. And the best part of looting someone else's storage device? What they had inside! Caleb quickly bound all 5 new items the rings seeming to merge into his body. Thsn he checked the storage device. Unfortunately he only found 4 items inside; a ritual book for summoning you soul familiar, a jar of the powder the lich had used, a purple spike like the one that had been drilled into Caleb's throat before it was absorbed during the ritual, and a glass bottle holding a single seed that only showed a single (?) when caleb inspected it. When he tried examining either the spike or the powder all he got was there names. The powder was called gwyderlion pollen while the spike was simply called a soul screw.
While somewhat disappointed about the lack of loot Caleb was overall happy with his hall. After checking all of that he quickly began searching for the lich's phylactery. What helped him find it in the end was a sense of malice when he got close to the throne. Instead of touching the throne sense it may be trapped Caleb instead swung his staff at the back of the throne. This jarred his hand but saved him from the thirteen needles that flew up from the ground surrounding the throne. Underneath where the throne had been was a hole holding a floating black crystal heart with thin green streaks of lightning. After gathering all that and doing a once over of the room Caleb sat down before looking over his status page as Tyr had suggested.
Caleb was at first confused and worried before turning relieved once he saw how his status page had shrunk and instead gave him tabs so he could further look at different sections. The most interesting of tabs were those he had zero idea about but assumed that they were the reason Tyr had told him to check his status page. Believing that to be the case he first clicked on the GENERALS tab.
Caleb looked over the panel and thought about how this could help him. First it was obvious that his bloodline wanted him to be some kind of leader. Having the ability to empower his subordinates would also go a long way to strengthening his faction. The second thing he noticed was how he had no way to stop his generals from betraying him, though he assumed this feel in line with the saying in his bloodline were "creatures of the abyss only follow the strong" ergo it probably intended for him to keep their loyalty through a combination of awe and fear of his own power. Since he was unable to take back the blessing or replace a general he would have to be careful choosing who his generals would be. He did however get the feeling that if he increased his own power enough he could gain additional slots for generals. He also had the distinct feeling that there was a hard limit on how many subordinates each of his generals could have. After fully organizing his thoughts, Caleb checked out the other new tab.
Caleb was stoked when he saw the new abilities he had. While normally he would stay in his human form this abyssal form seemed like an extremely powerful boost. Caleb was just about to activate all the abilities when an overwhelming sense of danger stopped him in his tracks. He didn't know how he knew it but he was 200% sure that if he tried to go full abyssal he would die.So instead he decided to take things far more cautiously, using one ability at a time before trying to use two then three and so on. He quickly found that using one at a time was completely doable and was surprised that he felt far more comfortable in the Abyssal Behemoth form. Using two abilities at a time felt like every atom was being dissolved yet he knew no damage was being done. But as soon as he thought off using three abilities the sense of danger returned in full force letting him know beyond all doubt that 2 was his max limit currently. Focusing on the sense of danger Caleb realized that the number of abyssal abilities he could use at a time was tied to his toughness stat and to his rank but beyond that he was clueless.
After calming down he remembered that his armour wasn't destroyed during his growth into an abyssal behemoth. Trying to think back he couldn't thing of why that was so decided to test that out. Once again he activated Abyssal Behemoth growing to 12 feet from his original 6. As soon as the transformation began all his armour and weapons disappeared, it taking a short time for Caleb to realize that the gear went into his new storage device.Changing back Caleb had the gear reappear on him glad that he was no longer naked. He instantly made up his mind to either get custom gear for his larger form or to get gear with a function to change sizes with him if that was possible. He was somewhat confused about why gear would have an ability to adjust slightly as he had noticed with the gear he had gotten at the beginning of the Tutorial, but not now. In the end he assumed that there was a limit to the amount of adjustment without a proper enchantment. The again it could all just be system-fuckery. At this point he decided to check out what his new Titles meant.
Bloody Berserker: You will sacrifice all to see your enemy dead including your very life. Use up more than half your life force to kill a single enemy. +10 WIL
Embracing Death I: You welcome the embrace of Death yet deny her your soul. Have less than 5% of health yet survive. +20% to HP regen
After gathering up the rest of the weapons he had earlier left do to being unable to carry them Caleb left the dungeon ready to face what may come. This new world seemed like heaven even with the torture because for once Caleb felt truly & 100% alive.
