Chapter 16: Finally having some Class

  After reading over his notification and learning what his race was he choose to leave the void he was in instantly appearing were he was standing before with no time having passed in the outside world. He saw that Valikra was curios about what sub-race of vampire he had gotten but he was in to much of a rush to get his Class and Profession, so he quickly clicked the race evolution tab so he could quickly unlock the 2 tabs he wanted.

  CONGRATULATIONS!

  You have evolved your race to F-rank.

  You have completed a super-rare grade evolution

  +5 to all stats

  Caleb was somewhat surprised about both the stats and the message about grade of evolution as this was the first time he was hearing about it. Caleb figured he would think about it later and so tried to touch the crystal so he could pick his class. Unfortunately he was blocked by an invisible barrier that made touching the barrier impossible. At first he was confused until he saw a man approach him in what looked like a fantasy guard uniform. "Sir, you need to register what grade of evolution you completed at the podium to the left." The guard said in a gruff yet not unfriendly tone more like the voice of someone having to say this hundreds of times a day just like when you talked to a clerk at the if DMV. While confused Caleb complied with the guards direction going over to the podium that he had only just know noticed.

  As he reached the podium a vampire guard without a helmet was writing on some papers. Not even looking up the guard who appeared to be higher rank(possibly a captain or something?) said, "Place you hand on the soulstone and tell me your name, race, sub-race if you have one and the completion grade on your evolution and what rank the evolution was for." Caleb once more complied as none of these things seemed like things he needed to keep secret. Saying them clearly and in the order that the man had asked for. Everything stayed the same until he stated his completion grade, at which point the guard captain flashed up staring Caleb down like a wolf who had been starving but just found a rabbit with a broke leg. "Swear upon any god of Integrity or Honor that your words are true!"

  After the guard captain said that hundreds maybe thousands of name/titles flashed in Caleb's mind. He new instinctively that these were all the gods that had godhoods based around keeping your word and that they would kill you if you broke an oath upon their name, he was actually kinda glad there was so many but he already new who's name he was going to swear by. "I swear by the might of Tyr's blade that my words are true!" As soon as he though the name an oath appeared in his mind replacing all the other gods names. Once he said the oath he felt the presence of Tyr look over him and he also felt Tyr was extremely annoyed. Though he could tell it was aimed at him he was confused as to why Tyr was upset.

  The guard captain was shocked fear flashing in his eyes and his face paling even more than normal for a vampire. "I apologize Tyr's Champion I didn't recognize your ties to the Oath Slayer." Caleb received the answer for why Tyr was upset but the knowledge just made him more confused.

  "Why does it matter if I am Tyr's Champion?" Caleb asked trying to understand the situation better.

  The guard looked at Caleb for a moment before explaining. " Tyr is known as the Oath Slayer because he will kill anyone he meets who breaks a promise or oath. For his followers he his even more strict as he will banish those lower on the hill for any form of lying while anyone higher will be killed for telling any lie. As his Champion you would be dead if you had lied about the results even if you hadn't sworn the oath."

  "WHAAAAT!?!?!? I'll die if I lie?" Caleb thought/screamed at Tyr. "Yes I despise the dishonest and I vowed to kill all of those who recieved my blessing and lie. You can still tell false jokes and exaggerated stories as long as you do not intend to deceive others into believing they're true. It was why I was so upset when someone question the veracity of my Champion, as that is an insult to me. I was likely to kill that vampire but i knew it wasn't his fault you failed to inform him of your divine standing though he should have inspected you and found out before asking for the oath." After Tyr finished explaining Caleb felt his presence leave.

  "So why did you need to know that information anyways." Caleb asked after calming down. He wasn't to worried about the whole no lying thing as he didn't really lie always having found it stupid to do so as it meant you had to waste brain cells to remember each lie so he would never get caught up and you needed to make the provable facts match. Therefore being honest was just much more simple and easy.

  "Ah. Yes, we gather this so that the factions in charge of this Tutorial can find young talents to join them. The system lets us monitor the scores for the G to F-rank evolution and the F to E-rank evolution as a reward for our faction hosting a Tutorial, that's why so many powers fight to host Tutorials. I was shocked because your grade is the highest possible inside a Tutorial though nowhere near the max possible. This show you are a great seed for cultivating. See this paper shows what each of the grades of evolution give."

  Grades of Evolution (F)

  trash=0

  inferior=1

  common=2

  uncommon=3

  rare=4

  super-rare=5

  epic=6

  legendary=7

  spiritual=8

  mythic=9

  celestial=10

  divine=11

  archaic=12

  "Each rank up increases the stats given by 10. If they have a trash grade evolution they will never be able to level or advance again. Inferior means they will never advance again but they can still level with the same rank. Powerful factions can easily help their people reach an epic grade and they have hundred and possibly thousands of legendary every few year. Unfortunately even the most powerful organizations cannot guarantee even a single spiritual grade evolution much less anything higher though they can obviously help. You have to have 5 mythic, or 4 celestial or 3 divine or 1 archaic grade evolution before reaching demigod to have even a .01% chance of ascending to godhood. Forerunners often have higher average talent though with most becoming uncommon and 38-42% having rare. For a planet going through a Tutorial having 1 to 2 thousand super-rare is shocking and it would be less but any who earned a higher grade is demoted to super-rare now you need to realize that is only counting the survivors, as the rest are either dead or have been sent to the undead empire . " The guard captain explained. " That is why factions fight over all the rare and super-rare people even more so if the manage to get the same grade or higher in there second evolution."

  "And how many factions can you join?" Caleb asked after digesting the information he had been given.

  "That is a slightly tricky question. First and foremost if you follow a god then they determine how many and which factions you can join. If you don'r follow a god, and no just worshiping them does not count you have to have some kind of blessing to be considered a follower, then you can join as many factions as you like who want or will accept you. Keep in mind you will be unable to join 2 factions at war with each other and that the more factions you join the less valuable you become. A good rule of thumb is to not join more than 1-2 factions unless you have some great value and even then stay under 6 factions." The guard tried to explain.

  Caleb was satisfied with the answer for now and figured he could ask Tyr for more answers later, now it was time to finally get a Class no more distractions. So saying goodbye he turned and walked back to the crystal. Reaching out he touched it now that the barrier from before was gone he had no issue. He quickly selected the Class tab once more disappearing in a shower of colorful light particles time standing still. Opening his eyes Caleb saw a new prompt.

  Who Will You Be?

  Caleb looked around and found himself standing on a small red planet, and standing around him in a circle was 14 of...well himself, Each wearing different clothes and giving off different feelings each looking llke a character from a fantasy game with the best gear. Taking a guess on what he was supposed to do thanks to books he had read in his past he went up to one of the hims that was wearing black plate armour a tower shield and holding a long silver sword wreathed in purple flames. It looked to be about a half foot taller and even bulkier than his new vampire body. Once he was within 3 feet of it a prompt appeared.

  That was an immediate no as far as Caleb was concerned. Whie the gear looked badass and the Class seemed insanely powerful, he refused to give up using runes and his other affinities. Besides with all the work he had done he was sure that he would find something better, as he obviously got this Class thanks entirely to his bloodline. Turning he moved to the one that was to the right of the abyssal knight or the left of himself. This was guy wore black leather armour while holding a black staff topped with a sharp shard of purple crystal covered in white lightning and purple flames. He wore a long black leather cloak with the hood puled up.

  Once more a definitive no. So without pausing he moved on to a man in light chainmail over leather armour holding 2 blood red swords. Seeing the names Caleb was slightly surprised because this was one of the classes his first general owned.

  It seemed like an interesting class but not what Caleb wanted so he moved on this time planning to look at all of them before comparing his thoughts.

  Moving back Caleb thought on the class he would get. To be honest he just organized what he read in his mind and put it in his Journal so he would have it in case he came across any of these Classes. He already knew which Class he was getting as soon as he saw it. Arcane Weapons Master just felt right on so many levels even with all the warnings. And it was the most powerful option he had that didn't have huge negatives attached, the only other Class that called to him being the Monk Class. The TyrMagus Class while super cool and powerful just made Caleb's skin crawl. So without further ado he selected his Class. A warrior in brown leather armour with two short swords on his hip and a battle axe on his back walked towards Caleb runes floating and changing an inch above his hand. Instead of stopping when he reached caleb he just kept going merging inside of him.
