Divergence Eleven

Koarden Enterprises, and subsequently Meredith and David Koarden, took the world by storm as the world entered the new millennium. They began by working on Project Hierophant, building out every system according to its original specifications. From there, they began to deconstruct everything. They pored over notes from the project, learning all they could about why the original designers had made each of their decisions.

Then, with that knowledge, they began to improve items. Prosthetics had been done before, partially based on this technology even. However, they were heavy and clunky to use, and the original control helmets had only been slightly slimmed down over the years.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

They brought more people on board, hiring as needed to fill in for the gaps where their own knowledge failed. In two years, they had a working prototype, one that used a headband instead of a cap to control the prosthetic. A year after that, they had swapped the design for control through the nerves. An idea one of their doctors had suggested.

It was one project among many, but perhaps the one that would come to shape the world the most. At least in the eyes of the public. With their work on prosthetics, came another venture closely related to their original endeavor.

  Robotics.

It was something that everyone with a stake in space was trying to get their hands on. They were one of many manufacturers by that point, however, they quickly became known for the quality of their products.
