Shizuku loaded ammo into her gun. She met Yuri Alpha's gaze with her own and nodded. They shifted formation and began working in tandem once more. Narberal flew above, hitting Shalltear with spells powerful enough to threaten her and prevent any type of aggression towards the front lines of their group.
'Move left, CZ2128,' Lord Antikythera commanded with a message. Her sisters shifted at the same time as her. They must have received a command of their own. 'Recognize the youts of your attacks, know why Yuri Alpha is at the back of Solution and why Lupusregina is preparing to summon monsters.'
Shizuku embedded the order into her data centers while she continued shooting at Shalltear from the angle Lord Antikythera had put her in. It was much easier to nd strikes here. Shizuku began to consider why that was and came to the conclusion that she was currently standing at the precipice between the Third Floor Guardian and Narberal Gamma. Should Shalltear focus on one of them, the other would strike.
Except, Shalltear did not realize that Shizuku had not prepared an explosive ammo type. The Automaton quickly corrected her mistake without making it obvious to their enemy and inserted a holy grenade into a chamber located on her forearm.
Items were, in a unique sense, the type of force multiplier that did not care about the level difference between two combatants. Ammo types were by far the best example of this. Although Shizuku was weaker than Shalltear, the fact that she had access to a constant stream of high-level ammo ensured that she was a threat to the vampire.
Should any of her hits nd—and they did, in fact, she had struck Shalltear for long enough that if she used an element effective against the undead, they would have won—Shalltear would take the same damage as she would from someone of the same strength as her.
Shizuku did not use special ammo types. She knew that she could, but that was prohibited. This was supposed to be a test, a combat drill. Shalltear shall give Nazarick knowledge in pce of her providing them the martial arts master that Lord Ainz had sought.
Shizuku ran forward as Solution backed away from the vampire. Their tank started to heal, and thus Yuri had to take her pce for a while. Shizuku provided assistance still, striking whenever Shalltear attempted a hit and punishing her for doing so.
Shalltear screamed once they shifted back to their regur formation. Shizuku fired a holy grenade once Solution, a slime, was confronting her and Yuri was safe. Narberal quickly followed with a powerful spell of her own, distracting Shalltear and buying them time to recuperate. Unfortunately, this didn't st long as they engaged in combat once more, but they were now getting into the feel of things—slowly, but the progress was there.
Antikythera watched this all with a critical eye. "They have not moved from their given positions after all this time." A fault that needed to be corrected. "And though they have proven to be adaptable enough that a change in their formation is not an issue, I'm afraid that they may not know what to do should they fight another group."
"Overwhelming their enemy with sheer strength is an option, but it's not the best one," Demiurge muttered. "Lupusregina Beta could summon more creatures, Narberal Gamma could assist them with proper spells, perhaps back away and cast buffs on herself."
"A lot of possibilities, especially when it is shown their enemy attacks the closest target," Antikythera nodded. "It is clear that they have more options than a constant back and forth between frontlines that will eventually whittle their enemy down, but a death from a thousand cuts is a slow one, and a powerful enemy can take advantage of that."
"Rushing Shizuku or Narberal would be an effective counter against the Pleiades' current stratagem," Albedo added her own piece into the conversation. "And although it isn't as obvious as Shalltear's, the Pleiades also have a pattern of their own—one which they follow to a fault."
"Yuri Alpha cannot fly, Lupusregina may jump but she's too slow, and Solution has a limit on how much she can hinder the enemy," Lord Ainz pointed out as well. "Their fws are clear to see if you're an outside observer, Umu. This needs to be fixed. We need someone to train everyone inside Nazarick and teach them how to critically think during battle."
"Well said, Lord Ainz," Antikythera agreed. "I believe that if we do not fix this issue, then there's a decent chance that we might not be able to fight those who are on par with us in terms of strength. If this ever becomes the case, then I would like to apologize in advance for being a failure as a guardian."
"Don't worry about it, Antikythera." Lord Ainz generously waved off his apology. "I'm sure you will do well. As for Shalltear..." Their Lord's tone turned low. "I assume that this may be why she lost. Her backstory..." A pause. "Her past has essentially made her feel arrogant."
"She's a brute," Albedo sneered. "A single whiff of blood and she will act like a rabid animal ready to pounce at anything that she comes across. She does not think during a fight—she's more of a berserker than a Valkyrie."
As Albedo listed off all of Shalltear's failures, Antikythera couldn't help but look at the vampire. Was this truly the reason why she got mind-controlled? Not because she got caught off guard due to compcency, but rather because she went berserk and attacked everything in sight the moment she found enemies.
"All she saw was an opportunity to kill," Antikythera said. "Shalltear needs to be corrected. She will have to control her urges during combat. I understand she does not need to do this when she's dealing with her brides, but enemies are completely different from her harem."
Demiurge nodded. "I agree. I believe Shalltear, as a guardian, should be pced high on the priority list of who we shall train to act with proper combat techniques." The Archfiend went silent, seemingly deep in thought. "Her excess of strength ensures that she wins most engagements, and I know that the current situation happened because of our oversight regarding the existence of World Items, but this does not excuse her behavior."
"What are you all trying to say?" Lord Ainz inquired about their pns, as though he didn't already know what they were.
"Shalltear needs disciplinary action," Albedo said with a scowl. "She has gone out of line and thus needs to be reined in."
"Ah, like HR?" Lord Ainz said in fear.
"HR?" Albedo asked.
"Human Resources—the group that watches over the health, mental or not, of workers in an office," Lord Ainz expined for them.
"I see," Albedo nodded. "I suppose Demiurge can apply what he's doing with the humans under him to Shalltear, can he not?"
"I believe she will not only be careless about such punishments but also even get aroused by them," Demiurge expined. "I believe it is best we confiscate some of her personal belongings as leverage and encouragement for her training."
"Umu." Lord Ainz spoke. "I think that's a good idea. Shalltear does have weird preferences, doesn't she? Maybe this will finally make her listen."
