Chapter 63: What a Close Call!

Chapter 63: What a Close Call!

Roviel, who was slightly pleased with the dual cultivation of magic and martial arts, had just hung his rapier at his waist when he heard Grol Sonia, standing opposite him, suddenly let out a warning-filled exclamation.

Before Luo Wei could figure out what was happening, he was directly knocked to the ground by Ge Luoxian.

  Pfft!!!!!!!

A thick wooden spear made from a tree branch barely missed Gloriana Lovi's left shoulder, and with great force pierced into a black pine tree.

Looking up at the spear that still had leaves on its quivering tail, Rovin's mind finally reacted to why Guronie had knocked him down.

  Enemy attack!

  This is an enemy raid!

Rovi turned his head to try and locate the attacker, but just as he had barely moved his head, the world in Rovi's eyes suddenly flipped over without warning, rolling until he was dizzy and almost threw up his lunch before finally stopping.

This crazy rollercoaster-like feeling is terrible, but Rovi can't complain and must be grateful to Guronni who rolled on the ground with him for at least 37,800 degrees.

It's not that Rove is grateful to be on top of Grolsch after the roll, with his head nestled between her ample breasts, but rather he's grateful for the path she took while rolling, as the row of deep spears stuck in the ground didn't pierce his body.

Through Guronni's proud cleavage, Rovi finally saw dozens of giant men with yellowish-brown skin, the shortest of whom were over three meters tall.

All the giants, with only animal hides wrapped around their waists, carried crudely processed stone clubs and wooden spears, pushing down all the twisted black pines that blocked their way from outside the dark pine forest, taking big strides closer and closer.

Watching tree after tree of twisted black pines, with trunks as wide as or wider than a bowl, being pushed down one by one, Luo Wei could no longer imagine how terrifying the power was that those constantly approaching, saliva-drooling, ugly giants possessed.

"Rover, they're cannibals! They must have smelled the blood and come running!"

While Luo Wei was still in a daze, Ge Luoxi hastily said.

  Cannibal?!

  Luo Wei suddenly sat up.

These terrifying man-eating demons, if there were only one or two Lovies, we could think of a way to kill them, but now... there are over ten man-eating demons.

So, any creature with a normally functioning brain would only have one possible first choice in this situation - run! The farther the thought goes, the farther the run goes.

Luó Wēi is now a zombie, but his brain hasn't become muddled to the point of trying out the newly mastered Líng Yǔ Liú Xīng Jiàn (Lion Rain Shooting Star Sword) technique on the strong and powerful man-eating demon, to see if he can also open seven holes in it.

With that in mind, Luo Wei didn't hesitate to drag along Ge Luoxian and run, but after a few seconds, the situation became Ge Luoxian dragging him instead.

As the two of them advanced, Rove's several undead servants also started running, including the skeletal sword-wielding O'Hey and the skeletal longbowman Robin Hood, who were both unscathed by the ghouls' spear attacks.

The largest of the Tyrants, unfortunately, got a bit mangled. According to Rovie's request, it ran off and grabbed Rovie's large backpack, with five harpoon guns stuck in its body. The slightly smaller zombie Lord Nelson was a bit better off, having only been hit by two shots.

If Tyrant were alive, this irrational behavior of valuing wealth over life would have to be atoned for by dying again, but as an undead creature, as long as his head remains intact, even if he's shot a thousand or ten thousand times while lying down, it wouldn't matter.

So Teland and Zombie Lord, although they both had javelins inserted into their bodies, were still able to follow Rovy steadfastly.

The ghouls, with their long legs and powerful strides, dragged Lovi's Glorene in a zigzag pattern through the dark forest of black pines, but they had only run a short distance when the ghouls who had entered the forest reached the position where they were before.

Bodies lay scattered all over the ground, causing most of the cannibals to stop in their tracks voluntarily. They happily began to feed...

But just a moment later, some of the cannibals let out a roar of rage, as if not only their dignity but also their intelligence had been insulted. These idiots, whose brains were filled with muscles, discovered after gnawing on a few corpses that those seemingly fresh bodies were actually zombie flesh that even dogs wouldn't eat.

These self-aware ghouls, feeling doubly insulted, mostly chose to go and snatch food from their own kind who were enjoying a meal on the side. However, three of them brandished large clubs and chased after Rovy and Gloseny as they retreated towards the mist-shrouded entrance of the Ancestral Valley.

"Three man-eating demons are coming, what should we do?"

Gloriana, who was dragging Rovi along as she ran, turned her head to look back at the situation behind them and asked again in a hurry.

"Shout - Run! Running into the Ancestral Spirit Valley is a shout of triumph!"

Because of the intense exercise, he was already panting and replied in a coarse tone.

Those damned man-eating demons that chased after us were tall and long-legged, their running speed was already comparable to Bolt's, apart from escaping into the Ancestral Spirit Valley, what other way could be thought of?

This is an extremely helpless principle. Rov already knew the power of Lord Frodo, and he didn't want to enter the Valley of the Ancestors so early.

  "Good!"

Gloria didn't have as many thoughts as Rovi, she reached into the pocket of her leather skirt while running and pulled out two pieces of jade beast crystal cores, handing one to Rovi.

"Hold it in your hand, otherwise you can't get in."

  Gloria explained.

Without any extra air, Luo Wei replied and nodded slightly as he tightly grasped the emerald crystal core handed over by Ge Luoxi.

Fortunately, the delay caused by the three-headed flesh-eating demons hesitating after realizing they were eating zombie flesh allowed for a safe enough distance to form between them and Rovy and Glosannie as they chased after them screaming.

However, as they ran, two of the four undead minions of the devourer suddenly jumped up and fell to the ground, not because they were scared out of their wits, but because Luo Wei had them pretend to be dead to avoid unnecessary sacrifices.

Luo Wei has already figured it out, the cannibals have no interest in zombie flesh, so now following him are four undead servants who will probably be beaten to death or crippled by the cannibals, but pretending to be dead might just help them escape.

Things developed just as Rove had expected, the three-headed flesh-eating demon with no brains but a keen sense of smell didn't even look at the four undead minions playing dead on the ground and continued to chase after them while making strange calls.

Although the three-headed devourer had thrown javelins at Rove and Grolsch on more than one occasion, those javelins either hit the twisted black pine trees or were deflected by the auto-activated Frost Shield of the Black Ice Choker.

Rovi, who had exerted all his might to sprint wildly, although he lost the sword with scabbard that was just hanging on his waist a few minutes ago during the wild sprint, ultimately still managed to complete the victorious great escape and rushed into the Ancestral Valley shrouded in thick white mist before the man-eating demons caught up.

As Gloriana said, the seemingly thick white fog that shrouds the Ancestral Valley is actually a magical puzzle lock of the dead spirits that can only be freely entered and exited after meeting certain conditions. If the living do not hold the Emerald Beast Crystal Core... they cannot enter.

Without pausing to catch his breath, Luo Wei grasped the faintly warm jade stone beast crystal core and looked around at the situation within the Valley of Ancestors or the ancient battlefield ruins.

Just as he lifted his head, two javelins whizzed past Luo Wei's side, piercing through the mist and deeply embedding themselves in the ground not far from his left front.

Those two spears, more than half of which had pierced the ground, made Luo Wei feel his throat was dry, extremely dry. After creating a shield of frost crystals at the fastest speed, he finally spat out a two-word comment: "Good luck—"
