A train to paradise

Do Yun never fully understood the feelings that lingered in his mind regarding his brothers last moments before they died

They didn't come as memories more like heavy weights that he could never let go of.

Daily he replayed what he could've done better; the things he could've made right: Fixing banters, helping his brothers, enjoying quality time with them and realising they truly cared.

He never truly made the time to think of them that way.

Infact he took more advantage in them rather then accepted them.

And, before he had a chance to accept them however, it was too late.

A few years ago his older brothers, who were twins, Yun-ho and Yi-jun had died.

Yes, they were like the parents he never had.

The angels he never asked for.

  But always they remained.

They didnt care of Do Yun's flaws, the way he acted so selfish towards everyone they met. That was only one of many but...

  They didn’t care.

As the oldest they had a responsibility.

To protect the youngest just as loving parents would.

  Their real parents?

  Well simply said...

They loved money more then their own sons.

They never really looked out for any of them.

Almost like debtors only relying on their childrens lives for fame.

  Birthdays were business opportunities.

  Family dinners were networking events.

If there wasn't any money involved for them, they wouldn't come.

And, when the sales died down. Offers failed. Recommendations drowned. They disappeared entirely.

They didn't come back even after the news of their sons passing.

  Entirely, they vanished.

They didn’t put the time to check on the youngest. See how he was doing after the tragic losses.

It was like he was nothing to them. Just the youngest who was said to need the most.

He was left burdening everything alone, that was the only way he could live now.

  Alone. Helpless. Afraid.

He was forced to survive that.

  Bus station: 2018

Do yun waved goodbye to his two older brothers. A warm sense of relief washing over him rather then anticipated dread.

"Finally freedom from these nagging flies!" He joked brushing his arm in a cold motion as the heavy wind hit his skin.

The boys loved to have banters yet, this time it felt different.

Almost fake. The happiness didn't glow as it normally would.

The laughs didn't echo as loud as it normally did.

Yi Jun paused for a moment. A shadow of sympathy flashed his face. He tried to smile. But it was just as fake as the atmosphere.

"Awe come on kid, wont you miss us a bit?" Yun-ho pouted, breaking the silence.

"More like a bunch!" Yi-jun interrupted whilst taking off his jacket and pulling the smooth fabric over Do Yun's shoulders. "I mean who wouldn't miss us?"

Do Yun froze at the kind gesture the feeling of warmth soothed his freezing skin as the baggy jacket layed heavily on his slim frame.

He looked up. A sharp glare softened and he hesitated to speak. "Thanks..." He muttered.

"Wear it properly idiot." Yi-jun suggested helping Do yun put his arms through the sleeves with fake annoyance overshadowed with care. "You better look after yourself while we're gone"

Yun-ho gagged "What the hell kinda soppy play is this we're only gone for 3 weeks!"

"And you ever wondered why I favoured Yi-Jun rather then you?" Do Yun laughed, the boys followed.

Was it true Do Yun didn't want them to leave anymore? Yes.

  Yes, he didn't...

But, he had no choice. They were the adults.

  He couldn't stop them.

They wanted to fulfill a mission.

See Jae Joon (the oldest) once again after many years.

Why they were going to see him?

  Do yun didn't quite know.

The twins didn't really tell him anything.

He understood a little get together but with the person who disappeared from their world? Didn't quite add up.

Do yun froze. A deep stare haunted the two boys in front of him as he attempted to disguise his paranoia by bringing his brothers hands close to him.

His cold flesh hit their skin.

A whimsical reaction of in sync confusion flashed on the twins' faces whilst they attempted to pull away.

  But, Do jun wouldn't budge.

He looked them up and down, sorrowful eyes, yet masked it with amusement finding a way to only cheer himself up.

"Man you guys are really ugly!" He gagged out with a lie. "And there's two of you!"

"Hey!" The twins whined finally pulling their hands away in annoyance.

"Seems you definetly won't miss us in the UK," Yun-ho muttered.

"After all we've done for you all these years," Yi-jun crossed his arms in comical disgust. "I give you my jacket and this is how you treat me? No presents for you..."

"Hey, what! You better give me presents! You're going to be in the land of the posh anyway! Korea is no where as special. The least you can do is give me presents!"

"You're technically an adult. Adults dont need gifts,"

"Hey I'm only 16! I still have 2 years to go..." Do yun advocated impendingly.

"You calling us old or what," with a sharp stare Yun-ho suddenly switched to a sweet innocent smile. "Whatever kid, me and bro better get going we're gonna be late for the train,"

"A private train... how does one get late to something especially made for them?!"

"In other words Yun-ho is expressing his excitement idiot. Let him be happy to be away from you," Yi-jun muttered.

"Wow just wow. I hate you both!"

Within moments the harsh break of a bus motioned before them. A long bus crowded with people. Overly crowded.

The breaks halted harshly as the engine abruptly diffused the remaining gas in itself as if signalling the closeness of collapse.

With a mixture of disgust and concern Do yun slowly backed away from the stopped vehicle.

The doors of the bus opened aggressively a loud squeeching echoed alongside it as a swarm of people quickly dashed out in a hurry.

Do yun paused. Staring at the mixed crowd before scoffing. "How you need a bus to go to a private train while you're rich is beyond me."

"We're rich. Plural because we're all a family," Yi-jun added.

"Yet I'm not going to England. Where is my richness!"

"Because you need to be at school idiot like you should be today! Anyway we best get going. This bus will leave us soon if you keep up with all your unimportant yabbiling," Yun-ho reminded.

  "Yeh whatever. Hate you both!"

The twins walked to the first step before turning back in a in sync manner once again.

"Love you too kid!" They yelled back before entering into the bus.

Their figures disappeared slowly but surely into the anonymous crowd. Their shadows mixing with the darkness until they disappeared entirely.

And then, the same broken sounding engine started again and black dust exited profusely as it steadily hit the road once more.

Just for a few moments Do yun felt free.

Free from their constant nagging, care, love...

But, that freedom didnt last long.

He knew what they did was from love. That's what he hated the most.

He wanted control. To do what he wanted. He had that opportunity now but...

  He didn't want it.

With a shaky wave he watched as the bus departed officially. The familiar figures disappearing into the world.

The world he wasn't so familiar in.

He bit his lip. The taste of blood forming on his tounge. His skin split.

  He didnt want to cry.

His parents forced away that emotion when he was just a little boy.

He was taught men. Real men. Didnt cry. A tear even just from the wind was weakness. No take backs.

He looked ahead, and attempted a smile.

"The flies are gone..." His voice croaked. "They were annoying anyway. So it doesn't matter." Reassuring himself, he held a steady breath feeling the surroundings subdue him then...

  A ring.

  A call.

He stood silenced. Feeling the vibration massage his thigh.

His fingers slipped into his jean pocket and brought out the phone that buzzed dramatically for attention.

He wanted to just ignore the impending call but the caller ID caused him to reverse his actions. He answered.

"????? (Hello) who is this?" He asked. His voice shaky as he fiddled with the buttons of Yi-jun's jacket.

  "Do yun.."

  The voice was heavy. Familiar.

  "?? (its me)"

Do Yun's chest tightened, a sense of recognition hit him. It... couldn't be? He froze in shock almost horror.

  "Hyung?"

A long pause caught Do yun off guard. He stopped for a moment looking back at the caller ID seeing if the call had ended. "?????"(hello)

  Uneven breathing filled the line.

  Like somebody had been running.

  Then, the call ended.

Do yun shakily turned his phone off.

Although his older brother talking to him again was unlikely.

He had an odd feeling that it wasn't impossible.

Yes, miracles didn't happen over night.

His brothers had only just brought the guts to see Jae Joon again.

Of course he wouldn't call out to his younger brother now.

What was the point? But what if he did?

It was true, Do yun was all alone now.

  No Yi-jun

  no Yun-ho,

  no Jae Joon.

  All alone.

I mean that's what he wanted, right? After all this time?

  Control in his life?

  Freedom.

  No words that could bite?

  Once, he wanted that.

But now all he wanted was his brothers.

He didnt want to be alone anymore.

  Not right now.

  Not after that call.
