I sat on the floor for ten minutes and after that ten minutes I heaved myself to my feet.
The window now had a view of Earth. I felt Earth with my consciousness and felt so much Matter. It was beyond anything that I had felt before in my life. So many humans lived without any sort of Dark Matter and the volume of Matter that they generated was preposterous.
With a thought I took all of it and fell back over with the power I felt coursing through my system. My body was full of light and I felt overpowered.
Bajer turned around and gasped.
I smiled at him and headed straight towards the decompression room not caring about anything in the world except vengeance. It was time to put an end to this evil.
On my way to the decompression room I activated that rune in my head again and again and felt the power get even bigger and bigger.
Finally I got to the point that I was sure I was some type of God. Without a second thought I entered the decompression room and was blasted into space.
Once I was there I felt my life force being sustained and I took all the matter that I had burgeoning inside me and blew myself up until I felt I could use the earth as a basketball.
The feeling that I felt in that moment was hard to explain but I will try my best. I felt like my insides were getting bigger as well as my outsides but at the same time I knew I was staying the same size.
When I later asked people what they had seen they mentioned that there was a massive glowing warrior that they couldn't even begin to comprehend how big it was.
I later would begin to realize that I was seeing through this warrior's eyes and yet I was somewhere in its sternum linking my being with the warrior that was entirely made of Matter.
Then the other warrior arrived.
It started with ships appearing out of nowhere and firing on my warrior but then a big ship came with a consciousness beyond anything I had ever felt. I suddenly felt small and insignificant the more and more that ship got closer.
Once it got right up next to me I realized that the ship was the size of Earth and the Dark Lord himself was inside.
At the Dark Lord's presence I felt scared and depressed. I felt like I wanted to wither away and die.
When I reached out my consciousness I felt that the people in our ships indeed were dying at the mere presence of the being in that ship. Somehow, someway, I managed to shield all of our ships and people stopped dying. Still, the effort took a lot out of me.
I looked back at the ship with the Dark Lord and gasped. It was gone and in its place there was a warrior that was twice my size and it was holding a sword that could easily cleave Earth in half.
I conjured up my own sword and turned to face him.
The fear hit me like a train. My warrior crumpled over and I almost died on the spot but something kept me alive.
I remembered living my life in pain because my parents were dead. I remembered Michael's face and Harper's smile. I remembered my aunt and uncle that were on Earth and everything that they had done for me. I remembered my teachers that had tried to kill me. I remembered my old principal. I remembered every human in existence and what they had done to fight for me.
With great effort I lifted my body up to face the Dark Lord.
I WILL KILL YOU AND CRUSH YOU LIKE A BUG, the voice whispered into my head. YOU DON'T STAND A CHANCE AGAINST ME. SURRENDER AND YOU CAN RULE ALONGSIDE ME IN THE NEW WORLD WITHOUT THIS HUMAN SCUM.
I thought for a second about what he had said. You can rule alongside me without the human scum. He said that like he wasn't human or something. He said it like I wasn't human.
Then something hit me again and I bent back over. It was his lies. I felt my brain being bombarded with thoughts about ruling a new world and how great a ruler I would make.
I poured Matter into my head and it all went away but I was shaken about how fast he could change how I view life.
YOU REJECT MY OFFER, the voice said into my head and I gasped as his giant sword swung down at Earth. I lifted my own sword and managed to block it pushing Matter from my sword into his sword when the two connected.
I activated that rune in my head a hundred times and felt myself get bigger with power. I was going to need everything I had to take this creature down.
I struck at his head but he blocked it with his sword. I poured more Matter into him and felt him grow smaller once again.
I parried another of his blows and swung at his foot. I connected and the creature bellowed so hard that I felt an explosion. When I reached out my consciousness I found that Mars was no more. The Dark Lord's howl itself had obliterated a planet. My presence around Earth and the ships was the only thing keeping them in one piece.

I steeled my nerves and went in for another blow but the Dark Lord blocked it and swung at my toe.
The toe dissipated and I felt pain explode throughout my body. I felt all the worst emotions I had ever felt in my life in that worst moment. Pain, defeat, shame, hopelessness, despair, hurt, and fear all coursed through my body.
I rolled onto my side as the sword swung right where my head had once been. I scrambled back up to my feet and blocked the sword pushing it away with all my might.
I then went in for a blow of my own taking off a good chunk of his foot making him shrink. I got a couple more lucky blows and suddenly he was my size.
Then he swung at me and my sword shattered into bits. I grew a new one but I felt myself getting weaker. I backed up and felt myself brushing against Earth.
I was at first scared that I had destroyed it but when I looked closer Earth kinda seeped into my body the more I backed up so I backed up all the way until my body had swallowed up the earth.
It seemed like anything could move through my Matter like nothing was there. I swung my sword back at the Dark Lord's face.
We kept on fighting for hours until we were each much smaller than we had begun. Instead of being cosmic giants we were merely the size of a skyscraper.
I was getting very weak at this point and the Dark Lord was pushing me into the very atmosphere of Earth. He was getting way too close and I hated every second of it.
I activated that rune in my head one last time. I got a boost of power but sensed that the rune had gone dry or something like that.
I found myself slammed into the earth in that moment creating a crater in the ground. The Dark Lord had struck me and the force had blasted me onto the very surface of Earth.
I was fallen on the ground curled up in a fetal position as the Dark Lord hovered over me waiting to strike. He had his sword raised when I remembered the advice I had received from the old man: condense your matter to defeat my son.
So I did. I took every ounce of everything that I had and pushed it into a little tiny speck. I felt my consciousness bend and break in the process but I was able to push it into the skyscraper-sized warrior above me. When the speck hit something miraculous happened.
The body disappeared. I lay there shocked for a second and then rushed over to the body that had fallen where the giant warrior had once stood.
It was a boy about my age but something was obviously wrong with him. His eyes were black, his skin was so dark I thought it might have been a black hole and he was trembling so hard the ground was shaking.
I SHALL KILL YOU, I felt the voice of the Dark Lord whisper into my ear. The boy raised his sword but I put my sword into his head.
In that moment I left the world behind and found myself floating above a holographic map that looked very real. All across the map, dark clouds were springing up and in only a few, bright white creatures were springing up and destroying the clouds of night.
"Horrible isn't it?" I spun around and found myself talking to a massive glowing white ball.
"Who are you?" I asked. "And where have you brought me?"
"I am the one that has been aiding you. I was the one that gave you those imprints in your brain and gave you your first speck of Matter."
I gasped and bent on one knee as I realized I must have been face to face with a God of some sort.
"Thank you," I said refusing to look at the orb.
"Look at me child," the orb said. I forced myself to look up and stare at the glowing orb. "Do you know who you are?"
"I'm a human," I mumbled.
"Yes," the voice said. "But do you know what you REALLY are?"
"I'm some type of alien aren't I?" I said succumbing to the thought. I had been trying to avoid it but I supposed it must have been true.
"No," the voice said. "You are no alien but let me explain to you what you really are."
"As you know your little Milky Way was infested with Darklings. Darklings want death. No one knows why but they want to kill anything and everything. These Darklings are a sort of robot that are controlled by a species whose name is so powerful that I cannot say it or I would be destroyed.
"You met one of the Darklings today Wyatt. The one that you call the Dark Lord.
"I, myself am also a robot of sorts made by the people that would loosely be called gods in your language. This people fights the people that make the darklings. They fight a battle in the cosmos and all the smaller battles like one you just fought are the same battle being fought in the cosmos but on a smaller scale.
"One thing you must understand is that ONLY a god can control what you humans call Matter."
I took a second to realize what it was saying.
"Are you saying I'm a god?" I said.
"In a way," the sphere went on. "You have a drop of the gods' blood in your body. They injected it into you at birth and that is why you can manipulate Matter.
"In each little galaxy the gods create people like you. A hybrid of the normal and the paranormal to put it loosely. You people are the only ones that can fight the darkness that is in our world.
"As soon as you fought that speck Austin you took that upon yourself and I will warn you: I will send you back to Earth now but at any time you might be needed in battle and in that battle you will die. It is the destiny of a hero to be a martyr for the greater good."
In an instant I was back on the surface of Earth looking at where that boy's body had once been. Now it was gone. I had destroyed it.
With that final thought I collapsed onto the ground, unafraid of the darkness for the first time in my life.
When I woke up I was greeted by the sound of tears. I opened my eyes and saw Harper in a chair crying. I looked around and found myself in a hospital room.
"Harper," I tried to say but it came out as more of a whisper. "Harper."
She looked up and rushed over to my bed.
"I thought you were dead!" she gushed. "They were monitoring your heart and it stopped for a minute and all the doctors left to leave me alone and..."
I raised my hand to her lips to silence her. What came next came about mostly because of that near death experience and the loopiness of my head.
"I read the note you gave me," I whispered smiling to myself. Harper blushed hard. "And I wanted you to know that I love you too."
I tried to get up to kiss her but instead she pushed me down and kissed me on the lips. It was the greatest thing I had ever felt and I would do it over and over and over again. I had been waiting for that ever since I met her in the principal's office.
She stood up straight and smiled at me.
"Michael!" she hollered. "Wyatt's still alive!"
Michael came rushing into the room and right then I was transported back to the place with the orb.
"I forgot to tell you," the voice said. "I have a little surprise waiting for you in the next room. Don't be alarmed. I promise it is real and not some type of dream."
I instantly was back in the present getting tackled by Michael. We cried together and shared what we had been through but once we were done I had to know.
"What's in the other room?" I asked my friends. Michael looked confused.
"What do you mean what's in the other room? That's where I just came from and it was empty."
I told him to go check it out for me and a few minutes later the door opened to my room. I couldn't believe who was standing there.
It was my parents.
The End
