Eden no Ori chapter 2-1

  In Lee's Consciousness

Because of the Guide’s seal, three chain-like objects wrapped tightly around the shadow, restraining it.

The Shadow lurked in the dark, observing the Guide from Lee's Consciousness with a smirk on his face .

Shadow: "Pathetic. You honestly think a mere seal can stop me? You're a useless imitation of an individual, a useless small being, you think a small seal can stop me." The Shadow used what was left of the energy he gained from the calorie bomb (the melon fruit) he had eaten earlier to move his teeth and begin consuming the chains.

  Outside

The guide scanned the surroundings to ensure everyone had fainted. Satisfied with the results, the guide reverted to his base form—a relatively normal human appearance.

Guide: "Now that I'm back in my original form and have stopped emitting pressure, I might as well help these newcomers with what I've done. System, heal them all and deduct the points from me." A green light enveloped everyone, and within moments, the mental and physical damage caused by the pressure had vanished.

  Two Minutes Later

Lee regained consciousness and noticed that everyone was awake and alive.

Guide: "Finally awake, huh? Now that your beauty sleep is over, I can explain what this world is and what's going to happen to you from now on."

Although frightened, nobody understood what was happening. However, they all sensed that this man was dangerous and nodded in unison.

Guide: "Good. Now, let me explain. This world is one stage of a survival game, a realm also known as God's Dimension. You'll face continuous missions, and each time you survive, you'll earn points to enhance yourselves. The missions and enhancements come from worlds based on manga, movies, or light novels. There are also rank rewards and more, but that's a story for another time."

He paused, eyeing the group with a smirk.

Guide: "So, in essence You'll need to survive while completing missions to grow stronger for even more difficult challenges. But hey, it could be worse, right? We’re dealing with anime and light novels—what’s the worst that could happen? (Marineford, Holy Grail War, Jojo’s world, and so on)."

He sighed internally, trying not to panic.

  Guide: "Any questions?"

Without hesitation, every hand shot up simultaneously.

Guide: sighs "Answering all of you individually will take forever. Alright, here’s the deal: I’ll randomly pick three of you to ask your questions. If you have more questions later, I might answer them... if I feel like it."

The Guide pointed randomly, landing on Jan, Ira, and Lee.

Ira: "How can we return to the real world?"

The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there.

Guide: "Ah, a common and fair question, lady. You can visit Earth whenever you're not on a mission, using points and a Rank Reward. However, if you want to stay there and permanently leave God’s Dimension, you'll need a massive amount of points and an SSS-rank reward. And before you ask, no, there's no way you’ll get that after just the first mission."

  He turned to Jan.

  Guide: "What’s your question?"

Jan: "What kinds of powers and enhancements can we obtain in this so-called God’s Dimension?"

Guide: "You can acquire almost any power or genetic trait from any media. Even Twilight's sparkling vampire transformation—powerful, but way too glittery for anyone with good taste. Personally, I have a Terra Former transformation, with a deep connection to bugs. It’s a pretty potent form of genetic manipulation."

  Lee raised his hand.

Lee: "What else can we purchase with points and Rank Reward?"

Guide: "You can buy a pet from the system, or techniques for attacking, defending, or movement—like something that makes you more agile. You can also get the best alcohol, cigarettes, even weed if that's your thing, with just a few points. The finest foods known to mankind, and even some that no one has ever tasted, can be yours for a few measly points. Honestly, the list goes on and on; it's incredibly extensive, and I could talk about it for a week and still not cover everything."

Lee: "So, hypothetically, I could get Kryptonian genes, enjoy chakra, and indulge in the world's finest drinks if I survive these missions?"

The guide looked at Lee deeply before retrieving a small marble from his belt and tossing it to the ground. A barrier formed around Lee and the guide.

  Lee: "What... what's happening?"

Guide: "Calm down, midget. This thing isolates sound, so your friends can't hear us. First, I want to apologize for how I behaved earlier. To answer your question: theoretically, yes, but in your case, no. You already have something distinct from the system—an inherited genetic power. You're what we call a 'son of a Guide.' When a Guide has a child, there's a chance the child inherits an inferior version of the parent's power. That's why your Appetite Demon has two eyes and a mouth full of sharp teeth. You probably inherited it from one or both of your parents."

He gave Lee a meaningful look.

Guide: "It's a powerful thing, and you're lucky to have it. Usually, it's at least a B-rank reward. Yours isn't higher because it requires special foods and training to reveal its full potential. As it is, it's not very impressive, but I sealed it anyway. If it ran wild, it would pose a risk to everyone and everything on this island."

Lee was stunned by this revelation. Could an ancestor of his have been brought to this place? Could this be related to his father or his sister's disappearance?

Lee: "So, I can't combine powers with this Appetite Demon?"

Guide: "In principle, you can, but it depends on how well the enhancements you want to mix match your demon's abilities. Take me, for instance; I have a Terra Former transformation and a kind of Cultivator's technique. They complement each other well. Enhancements like Fire Dragon Slayer and fire bending also Mach well together. Do you see what I'm getting at?"

Lee: "So, basically, yes. What about body enhancements? Can I mix two like Spiderman and Wolverine?"

The Guide watched Lee carefully before answering.

Guide: "You can, but there will be unintended consequences."

  Lee: "What kind of consequences?"

Guide: "When you have just one type of body enhancement, it affects your body and mind. However, if you have two types of body enhancement, they will influence your mind simultaneously. This leads to a loss of identity, wilder thoughts, and a more animalistic mindset. Ultimately, you'd lose yourself."

Lee: "Wow, I definitely don't want that to happen."

Guide: "That's not all. The enhancements will mix, resulting in an abomination—an entity both physically and mentally monstrous. So, it's something you'd want to avoid."

Lee: "Of course, who would want that?"

The guide smiled at Lee: "There's more to discuss, but time is short. You can inquire with the system once you return to the dimension."

The barrier vanished, and the bead returned to the guide's hand. A large screen suddenly appeared in front of them, displaying a countdown.

Guide: "Now that your questions are answered, I have one last thing to say before everything gets chaotic. Try to have some fun and survive."

  3...2...1...0

  countdown ended.

Something like glass that we did not even realize was covering us suddenly broke and a breath of fresh air went throw at us, the mission start
