Core Chapter 11: The Expansion of a Dungeon Pt.3

It was drifting within an endless void unable to see any light, its thoughts turned to what had happened, had it perhaps killed itself in its foolish desire for more Mana? Was it no longer going to be able to feel the blissful feeling of using its Mana? Was it never going to be able to expand its domain over the vast world it had seen? Was all that it had accomplished wasted? No! It refuses this! It will not die from simply exploding, IT, WILL, NOT, ACCEPT, THIS!

Its mind was instantly thrown chaos as it endured the after-effects of what it had done, and it felt itself falling until its consciousness smashed back into its new Core, and it soon looked at itself even more shocked at the changes. It's Core which used to be two feet in radius was now only two and a half centimeters in radius. Its old black color was gone and replaced with indigo purple with streaks of blood red moving across its surface as if alive. The shining black Diagrams and Runic circles had increased in number, and the speed they revolved around its tiny Core was much faster than before. The bubble of blood wrapping around its Core had compressed, becoming much darker. It caused the light shining from its Core to bathe the room in a wine red glow making its whole Core cave seem more sinister. A charcoal-grey-colored mist was billowing off of the surface of its Core blanketing the room. As its mental state began stabilizing, it turned to look at its status.

Its mind was once again thrown in disorder as it saw its status which had increased in every way, and its Mana capacity had risen by so much! It laid for hours in its Core attempting to soothe its mind from its current instability, and when it felt like no improvement was being made on the stability of its mind, it decided there was no use continuing and used the Floor Creation ability hoping it had unlocked new themes.

As the last of the unlocked themes faded away, it felt a small burst of pain in its mind, but it wasn't anything it couldn't deal with. It was quite happy with the new themes it unlocked and was even more pleased that it got a theme which supported its Leeches more than the Parasitic Swamp it already had. Leaving its Core with Mana Sight, it was ready to go back into its first floor and make the changes it couldn't the first time, and it was reasonably interested in seeing all the automatically created monsters within its first floor which had reached the cap for them by now.

Exiting its room for the first time since its evolution it had the four Leechlings, and the ten Bats follow it to the first floor, and it wanted to use the Abomination elsewhere and currently had it guarding the Titan core in the event anything happens. Entering the Swamp, it created one hundred Tiny Lesser Mana Leechlings and had them disperse around the Swamp with the four evolved Leechlings. It went towards the northern giant Lyn tree and created a hole halfway up the tree, ten meters in radius and began creating a large two hundred meter cavern within the tree which it was going to use as a den for its Shade Wing Bats. Completing the den, it also created one hundred Shade Wing Bats which it would increase the number of later when its Mana regenerates.

Now done for the moment with its changes to the Swamp, it left returning to the Titan core which it stared at yearningly for a few moments before beginning to replenish its Mana by draining the Titan core. It moved back and forth from the first floor to the Titan core, as it continued making the changes it wanted to do including placing blood-roots underwater. It also created more Vitriolic Leeching Abominations to inhabit the Swamp and when it made them it was surprised since they weren't exactly like the first one. First off, they were smaller, standing at only two and a half meters tall, and secondly, their eyes were glowing ice blue instead of the orange the first one had, which it assumed was because it was a Progenitor and not a normal one. When it finished, it called up the Floor Details curious as to how they looked now.

It was satisfied with the number of monsters now present on the floor and returned to replenish its Mana once again, and as it was draining the Titan core, it felt multiple creatures enter its influence and immediately moved its sight to the intruders who were at the entrance of the cave.
