  “wakey wakey. Kid wake up. HEEEEY! Can you hear me? Shit I think he’s dead” I was speaking to no one in particular. It was just really awkward waiting for this kid in front of me to gain consciousness. His driver’s license said his name was Richard Rider. He had been sleeping on the ground for the last 30 minutes.

  I changed my voice to mimic Thanos annoying righteous avenger voice “My name is Thanos I only kill half the populace of a planet.”

  “What bullshit he killed us all. Anyway what was I saying yah. After Thanos let me live I retrieved the Xandarian world mind, it’s kind of like all our culture, history, scientific progress, knowledge and a couple thousand wise Xandarian souls rolled into a software program. Well that’s putting it lightly if you want more info read the wiki.” *looks directly at the camera and winks*

  “Now after downloading the Xandarian world mind into my brain. I gained access to the full power of the Nova force but its killing me, which is why I decided to go to the next planet Thanos is most likely to visit and kill him in a suicidal rage, against the will of the world mind. Anyway flying through space took out a lot out of me. Now I need your sorry ass to pick up my mantle.” ok the kids taken the bait time to reel him in.

  “Why me you ask? Am I special? Am I the chosen one? No. don’t let this get to your head. It just so happened that you are the only one driving these backroads when I landed. I will be dying soon so I need your confirmation that you will kill Thanos avenge my people and um yah maybe start up the Nova Corps again. What do you say?”

  “I think I’m fucking dying man” oh my goodness this kid is hopeless. Are those tears. Shit.

  The kid continued speaking “I can’t die here. In the middle of the woods with some creepy crazy asshole. I want to live. I am destined to rule. My father will acknowledge me and I will take his throne and his legacy will be known. I just want my mom to smile. I want her to live” he began sobbing after that little announcement.

  “oh fuck you where royalty. It must be divine intervention for me to find a Kings son on this huge piece of rock. You want to protect your people. Your mom. Then say yes. Take on our legacy. Take on the NOVA CORPS LEGACY! Avenge our fallen. Please”

  The boy looked up. I don’t know if that look was determination or shame from him shitting his pants. Damn the kids almost dead.

  “yes I agree” finally he says the magic words. I can finally rest. I can finally see my wife and daughter.

  The crazy man before me burst into a supernova. I had no words for the beauty in front of me. Maybe I was dying. Had I chosen to go to heaven. What would have happened if I said no. Whatever it’s my time now. That or throwing away all my anti-psychotic medication was finally catching up to me.
