Opening Scene – The End of the Old Life
The world was supposed to be normal.
Liam Vale, a 21-year-old college student, had been pulling an all-nighter. A mix of coffee, half-eaten instant noodles, and an unfinished essay sat on his desk. His dimly lit apartment was silent, except for the hum of his ptop. One moment, he was rubbing his temples in exhaustion; the next, the screen flickered, and the world around him vanished.
A sudden pull, as if the universe had reached into his chest, yanked him out of reality. His vision blurred, his limbs felt weightless, and an eerie silence filled the void.
Then— darkness.
A World Between Worlds – System Initialization
A voice echoed through the emptiness. Mechanical. Cold. Absolute.
[SYSTEM INITIALIZING…]
[USER DETECTED: LIAM VALE]
[LOADING PERSONALITY PARAMETERS…]
[GENERATING SYSTEM COMPANIONS…]
Liam’s consciousness snapped back. He was floating in an endless void—bckness stretching beyond his sight, yet it wasn’t completely empty. Two glowing figures hovered before him.
To his left, a radiant, winged figure bathed in golden light gazed at him with soft, serene eyes. Her presence exuded warmth, comfort, and an almost motherly kindness. Seraphis.
To his right, a shadowy figure draped in crimson mist smirked at him. Her piercing violet eyes held an air of mischief and danger, and her presence felt both alluring and terrifying. Nyx.
Then, the system’s voice changed—now a fusion of two voices: one divine and one demonic.
[WELCOME, LIAM VALE. YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN.]
The void rippled. A massive screen appeared before him, dispying two choices:
1?? Save the world and become its greatest hero.
2?? Destroy the world and rule over its ashes.
The moment Liam saw the text, a splitting headache tore through his skull. Information flooded his mind—images of cities in fmes, of heroes standing tall, of tyrants crushing their enemies, of wars waged over righteousness and ambition.
His breathing quickened. What the hell is this? A game? A prank? A dream?
Seraphis and Nyx – The Voices of Light and Shadow
A gentle touch. Seraphis’ voice soothed his mind.
"Do not be afraid, Liam. This world is fragile, and it needs a protector. You were chosen to guide it toward peace, to be its light."
Her wings fluttered, her golden glow expanding. The warmth in her voice was enough to make him feel safe. The hero’s path—strength through kindness, power through unity.
Then, cold ughter slithered into his ear.
"Tch. Spare me the holy nonsense."
Nyx’s presence grew stronger, wrapping around him like a shadow. Her hand brushed his cheek, her smirk widening.
"Liam, do you really want to waste your life as some self-righteous fool? Why kneel before kings when you can take the throne yourself? Why protect the weak when you can make them bow?"
Her words carried temptation. The ruler’s path—power through dominance, strength through fear.
Liam stepped back, his pulse racing. This isn’t real. This can’t be real.
But his instincts screamed otherwise. This wasn’t a dream. It was real. And he had to choose.
The First Choice – Rejecting the System
Liam’s hands clenched into fists. A million thoughts cshed in his mind. Both choices felt… wrong.
"I don’t know this world. Why should I save or destroy it? Why should I follow a system that I never agreed to?"
Seraphis and Nyx froze. The system didn’t account for this response.
A notification appeared:
[ERROR: USER HAS NOT SELECTED A PATH.]
[OVERRIDE ENGAGED – SYSTEM WILL AUTO-ASSIGN A CHOICE IN 10 SECONDS.]
"Shit!" Liam cursed. His body tensed as he realized something horrifying. If he didn’t pick, the system would decide for him.
Seraphis reached for him, desperation in her golden eyes.
"Choose quickly, Liam! The world cannot wait!"
Nyx licked her lips, amused.
"Let the system decide. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get something fun."
The countdown began.
10…
9…
8…
Liam gritted his teeth. He hated being forced. Hated the idea of fate controlling him. But with no information, how could he make a choice?
7…
6…
His mind raced. If he chose heroism, would he be shackled by rules? If he chose destruction, would he even recognize himself?
5…
4…
No. He wouldn’t be controlled. Not by the system. Not by fate.
3…
2…
"Screw you!" Liam shouted, raising his hand. "I choose neither!"
1…
A bright explosion of light and shadow erupted around him. The system short-circuited.
Glitches and an Unstable Path
[WARNING! UNRECOGNIZED INPUT.]
[SYSTEM ERROR. ERROR. ERROR.]
The world around him shattered.
The golden light of Seraphis cshed violently with Nyx’s crimson mist. Their forms flickered, their energies spiraling out of control. The entire system was breaking apart—because of him.
Seraphis gasped. "Impossible… He rejected fate…!"
Nyx threw her head back and ughed. "Oh, now this is interesting!"
Liam screamed as he felt himself pulled into a vortex of pure chaos.

Scene Transition – Arrival in the New World
When Liam woke up, his body ached all over. The sky above him was unfamiliar—a mix of violet and crimson, like a world stuck between twilight and night. The scent of burning wood and blood filled the air.
He was lying on the edge of a battlefield. Smoke. Corpses. Destruction.
His system notification rang in his head:
[SYSTEM REBOOTING…]
[NEW PATH UNLOCKED – THE ONE WHO DEFIES FATE.]
Liam groaned, pushing himself up. He wasn’t a hero. He wasn’t a vilin. He was something else entirely.
And now, this world would have to deal with him.
