While Cridror guarded him from possible harm, Dhaga stopped to gather his newly acquired powers. He might have avoided the fate of his power being sealed away but he found it took time for him to tap into his newfound powers. He wasn’t quite sure about the details but his body felt different when he was in the whale realm. Suspecting that his body needed a lot of adjustments before it could fully integrate into his original realm, the naga could only take it slowly as he worked his way to his peak.
Still odd that I can only summon so few orcas. Might be related to the seals.
A minute later, Cridraw appeared before naga and the orca quickly greeted his sister. Dhaga had hoped to summon more but he couldn’t complain about having an additional orca to assist him in the battle. The break also allowed him to regain some of the stamina he lost due to using the same ability in quick succession. When he opened his eyes, he could see that his side had completely routed the Kraken followers. The Kraken center broke under pressure with the naga soldiers surging forward to break their morale. The naga turned to see that the war was far from over. They only broke through the first layer of the Kraken forces while more were waiting further back.
I know we were outnumbered but I didn’t expect this big of a gap. Even in a battle of attrition, we cannot possibly to even lay a dent in their numbers.
With the horns sounding, the nagas had given up on pursuing the Kraken soldiers. They could kill a few more but the risk of them overextending themselves was a real possibility and their side couldn't afford unnecessary losses. The Leviathan knew what was best for them so the nagas fell back into formation. The extended combat had taken a physical toll on many of them as fatigue was obvious when Dhaga studied them some distance away.
I doubt we have the numbers to keep it up. At best, we killed about one hundredth of their total forces so far. I doubt their elite soldiers even participated so far.
Dhaga knew that more orcas would solve their problem. Even with the orcas’ powers mostly sealed away, each of them was a big addition to their fighting force. Unfortunately, he had tried earlier and Cridraw was the only one he could bring through. It was less of him lacking the powers and more of the limitations that were placed on bringing someone from the whale realm. He asked Cridror about the matter and the orca confirmed that the portal had limitations. Not only could the portal not be activated more than a few times each day in their current realm but they were also limiting the strength of a creature or being coming through. All of these limitations meant that Dhaga could at most get a few orcas through each day. He only got one this time because he also went through the portal that same day.

Not sure if I have the time but it’s certainly an option we can pursue to close the difference between the two sides.
For the time being, the naga had to focus on himself too. Until he regained his full strength, he had to lay low to avoid getting targeted. The Kraken wasn’t about to let them orb owners do what they wanted so, the less he revealed to his foes, the higher the chance of him getting an element of surprise to use against his foes. Anything that could greatly cut down the enemy’s numerical advantage would do wonders for their battle. Then, Cridror spoke up.
Don’t forget about the inevitable clash between the Guardian and the Kraken.
In the face of the two god-like creatures, they were nothing more than tiny shrimps to be swept away by the current. According to the stories of past battles, the battle of the two behemoths changed the ocean floor and the shores of continents. Dhaga couldn’t even imagine what his home would look like after such a battle, especially when the battle was so close to the capital. It wouldn’t surprise anyone if the nagas had to establish a new capital after this battle, assuming they came out of it victorious. Dhaga was about to thank Cridror for the reminder when the orca informed him of something else.
The Guardian is summoning you, Dhaga! You should see him at once!
The naga knew better than to keep the Leviathan waiting. He and the two orcas swam swiftly and, midway, they were joined by the other two orcas. The five of them soon found themselves to be the last ones to arrive. The other orb owners, including Azi, had already gathered around the Leviathan. Their orbs were in their hands, shining bright enough to blind Dhaga if he stared at any of them for too long.
Is the Guardian granting us more powers?
Cridror replied that she didn’t know because this had never happened before. In the past, the orb and an item like his trident were all that the Leviathan could offer them. For this battle, the Leviathan had been surprisingly powerful compared to what it was capable of in the past. The orca feared that this was indeed the final battle so there was no reason for any of them, including the Leviathan, to hold back. Dhaga, as excited as he was for the new powers, patiently waited for the other orb owners to receive theirs first. He gained much from his time in the whale realm so he needn't be so rushed to get more. The other orb owners returned to their battle stations as soon as they received their powers, leaving just Dhaga and the orcas swimming before the Leviathan.
I see you have the fortune of training in the whale realm and gained great powers by being there. While I’m certain that your powers will prove pivotal in our conflict, I will grant you a gift to further aid your fight against our enemies. May this be enough to tap into your full potential!
