Episode 11

  Episode 11

"The Ancient Xian Techniques Record" only mentions the names of many ancient Xian techniques, their mighty abilities and various Xian family artifacts, formations, etc. Jin Chan'er just glanced through it, but her mind stopped at a technique called "Minor Rebirth Secret Technique". This is a solid yuan divine technique, strong divine technique, and an extraordinary method for escaping the flesh, but the result was greatly disappointing.

There are two methods, one is called "creating a body". It requires the practitioner to have achieved a high level of cultivation and possess great magical powers. They must combine the essence of the four symbols: the dragon's essence, the turtle's blood, the phoenix's elixir, and the tiger's bone, to create a new body. Then, they must merge their original spirit with this new body, reunite the six senses, and strengthen the six spirits. Only then can the practitioner be considered to have achieved true cultivation.

However, these divine beasts of heaven and earth only exist at the beginning of time, when the universe was first created and yin and yang were still merged. They do not exist in this world. Moreover, even if one could obtain the power of these divine beasts, it would be impossible for a cultivator to control them.

The second method is called "borrowing a body". This involves borrowing the body of another being to revive oneself. It requires that the practitioner and the borrowed body have similar characteristics and cultivation levels, and that the practitioner has great magical powers to assist in taking over the borrowed body. At first glance, this method seems feasible, but upon closer examination, it is revealed to be extremely difficult.

If the borrowed body's cultivation level is too low, it will be unable to withstand the powerful spirit of the practitioner, and if forced, the physical body will collapse, potentially causing damage to the practitioner's own spirit. This is one problem with this method.

Furthermore, even if a cultivator has achieved great things in their past life, they will still be reborn into the cycle of reincarnation if they have not achieved true enlightenment. Therefore, it is impossible for ordinary practitioners to achieve true cultivation through borrowing a body.

The second issue with this method is that if the borrowed body's cultivation level is too high, the practitioner's own spirit may be eliminated by external forces. However, the connection between the physical body and the spirit will remain, and even if the physical body perishes, the spirit can still linger for some time before gradually disappearing.

Therefore, it is impossible for a weaker spirit to take over a stronger one.

Jin Chan'er was disappointed and re-read this book, but there was nothing else to gain. She could only sit in a daze and think about it again.

"Must seek the method of nourishing and cultivating the spirit, otherwise the delicate spirit will be lost, only the original spirit will remain, what's the difference with a stranger! Moreover, if you want to return through the body, there is no other way but to strengthen the spirit!"

The original spirit is the innate possession of heaven and earth, which people acquire at birth. When a person dies, their original spirit returns to heaven and earth, reincarnating in a cycle, awaiting rebirth! The immortal and the mortal are one, with no distinction between them. As for the conscious spirit, it is acquired by the human body after birth. At birth, the six senses exist, giving rise to the six consciousnesses. When the six consciousnesses move spiritually, they can become the spirit, known as the conscious spirit. Ordinary people's six consciousnesses lack spirituality and cannot form a spirit, only following heaven's will in obedience. The body of an immortal can defy heaven and move freely, cultivating immortality to change one's fate, thereby achieving longevity. The conscious spirit knows things, distinguishes laws, thinks, and gives rise to emotions like love, hate, affection, and enmity. This is why this person is who they are, not someone else! When the conscious spirit perishes, this life ends, and there will be no connection to the present world in future lives!

On the second day, Jin Chan'er went to find Wu Changcai again. She knew that if it weren't for the high-ranking person in the building, there would be no way to figure out the method of recognizing gods. So she wanted Wu Shixiong to identify an object, which was a rare item she had taken out of her bag at random. The object had a color like gold but not gold, and it looked like jade but didn't have the warmth of jade. It was shaped like a round bead. Wu Changcai didn't recognize it, so he took it to the manager of the Cangshu Building, who was a small, round, and full cultivator. He had broad knowledge and wasn't surprised when he saw it.

"Where did this thing come from?"

"One of my younger fellow apprentices, an acquaintance and junior sister."

"Call him over and let's have a look!"

  "Yes, Master"

Wu Changcai stepped back and retreated. Found Jin Chen'er who was reading with her head down.

"Sister, that thing of yours is quite strange. Brother's knowledge is shallow and he can't figure it out, so he took it to our Master Guan's place. He was greatly shocked when he saw it and called for you."

"Oh, brother, I only let you know, if you can't figure it out then forget it, but why let others see? Don't you know that wealth should not be revealed?"

Wu Changcai heard this and surprisingly showed a delighted expression, saying that his master's sister already considered him as someone close to her.

"Sister, this is my master's pipe. His virtues are excellent, you don't have to worry, just come with me."

At first, Jin Chan'er pretended to be unwilling, but later hesitated and went together.

"Chang Cai, you go ahead and busy yourself first, I have something to ask this young one!"

  "Yes, Master."

Wu Changcai retreated and went out. Guan Gezhong waited until the six people had left the door before turning around and saying:

  "You look a bit familiar!"

"Respected Master, I am Jin Chan'er, a new disciple who has recently joined the sect of Yu Zhenren. Previously, I was unable to come here, but it was Wu Shixiong who recommended me to come."

  "Oh!"

That manager seemed careless, but was actually shocked in his heart, and secretly thought:

"This maiden's beauty is truly unmatched in this world!"

"Oh! Maiden, where did this treasure come from?"

"Obtained on the shores of a lava lake."

"Oh, that's right. This is the divine elixir of the Red Fire Dragon, a very rare thing indeed. I'm afraid there aren't many left in the mortal world!"

"What great use is it, Master?"

"This object is just a curiosity for ordinary practitioners and has no great use. However, for those who cultivate fire attribute techniques, it's worth more than a million gold coins, and in fact, it's priceless!"

"Oh, I see! So it's a water attribute technique!"

"Little fairy, this master's skill is fire attribute, as you wish to sell, I am willing to buy it, and I will not treat you unfairly!"

"This thing is so rare, my body is actually not safe. Hmm... I'll just give it to Master then!"

Jin Chan'er hesitated for a moment before speaking.

That pipe master was overjoyed and said:

"Little fairy is indeed a wise person! To know that an innocent man is not guilty, but to possess jade is a crime. Little fairy, do you want the Taoist scriptures, the way of immortality, the art of array, alchemy, or perhaps gold and silver?"

"The disciple has been sent to the master!"

  "So, ............"

That tube master was at a loss for a moment, he had thought of ways to get this thing into his hands, but did not expect it to be so simple.

"This, this, this won't do! If others were to find out, they would say that I'm deceiving you!"

Jin Chan'er sneered coldly in her heart.

"You've been deceiving me all along! This thing's power is so great, can it be fooled by just your two sentences and three words? If not, then I also have something to ask for. Otherwise, even a thousand pieces of gold wouldn't be enough to bribe you, a small person like you!"

The leader of the pipe organ hesitated for a moment and said:

"I have several supreme immortal law books here, you can choose one and take it away."

With a wave of her hand, more than ten books appeared on the desk. Jin Chan'er looked at the titles and picked up "The Cultivation Method of the Five Elements", "The Supreme Array of Taoist School" and "The Secret Art of Alchemy" and put them into her bag with an ecstatic expression. If Wu Changcai were here, he would probably be shocked to death. These few books are treasures from the secret chamber of the library, and without the permission of the headmaster, no one is allowed to touch them! After this, the guardian of the secret chamber will likely be punished to death! But for Jin Chan'er, these books may not be ordinary, but they can't enter her eyes. It's just to confuse this person's ears and eyes.

"Although these three Taoist classics of mine are worth as much as this object, I will give you a thousand pieces of gold, how about that?"

  "Too much! Thank you, Master!"

Jin Chan'er hastily said. After putting away the thousand gold coins in her pouch, Jin Chan'er said again:

"Master, is there an excellent method of spiritual cultivation and mental nourishment?"

"What's the point of asking this?"

"I cultivate and refine my body but cannot strengthen my spirit, which hinders the great way of cultivation."

"Hmm, there is a book called 'Sheng Lun Xiu Shi Lu', you can go and look it up yourself."

Having finished speaking, he lowered his head and sat in meditation as before.

Jin Chan'er knew the courtesy of her position, and with a bow she bid farewell, leaving in high spirits. As soon as Jin Chan'er left, Guan Gezhu suddenly opened his eyes, holding the pearl in both hands like he was cradling an infant, unable to bear parting with it, overjoyed beyond control, and burst out laughing.

"This opportunity can be said to be against the heavens! Refining this object will surely allow one to break through the Small Circulation Realm and enter the Dao with hope!"

Jin Chan'er had already sensed everything and didn't bother to respond. She went to look for the "Sheng Lun Xiu Shi Lu" to browse through it.

The "Sheng Lun Xiu Shi Lu" lists only a few methods for cultivating the spirit of consciousness, as the cultivation of consciousness is based on the physical body and progresses gradually. As for those who forcibly cultivate their consciousness without relying on the physical body, there are only a few examples such as the "Nine Spirits Divine Box" and the "Three Realms Coffin". The rest are all clear. However, this book only mentions it briefly. There is only information about using instruments to nurture the spirit of consciousness, but no information about the location where these anti-heavenly instruments belong, which is a great pity!

Jin Chan'er immediately arrived at this place, and how could she let go of the vast number of classics from the first major sect of the Taoist school. But what made Jin Chan'er deeply surprised was that most of the books stored in the Qingmen were not the way of cultivators, but the theories of ordinary people in the mortal world. Moreover, their views on life and death, as well as the principles of yin and yang, were truly astonishing and surpassed those of many cultivators.

All the great sages in the mundane world have a deep understanding of the principles of heaven and earth, and the laws of the universe. It is hard to believe that these short-lived humans can cultivate to such an extent, while those who do not cultivate are far from being able to compare with them! Jin Chan'er benefited greatly from this. The great sages of the mundane world said:

"Heaven and earth were born from nothing, nothing gave birth to the origin. The origin is the ultimate extreme. The origin gave birth to two, the two are the yin and yang principles. The two principles gave birth to four images, the four images gave birth to eight trigrams, the eight trigrams evolved into countless phenomena, this is the world of the universe. Therefore, heaven and earth give birth to all things, all things are different. But in their differences, they all preserve one ultimate principle, the great way, which is natural law..."

Jin Chan'er covered her face and sighed:

"A saint in the mundane world, even if he cultivates himself to the utmost, cannot transcend it. Truly, this is something that inspires awe and reverence!"

From then on, he underwent a great change in his temperament and no longer regarded ordinary people as ants.

Then Jin Chang'er would often visit Wu Changcai and sit in this Zhongshu Pavilion to study. What she was fascinated by were not the theories of cultivators, but rather the grand moral principles of ordinary saints who cultivated their hearts and nurtured their spirits. A year passed like a flying arrow. Although Jin Chang'er had not yet figured out the origins of those magical artifacts like the "Nine Spirits Divine Box" and the "Three Realms Coffin", her gains were indeed not small. She was about to leave this place to go elsewhere in search of more, perhaps making new discoveries!
