Season 2, Chapter 3: The Way of the Warrior

Season 2, Chapter 3: The Way of the Warrior

The air vibrated with the sound of swords clashing. Silver flashes crossed in the air like furious lightning. Valterion moved at an inhuman speed, his blade whistling as he crashed into Waru's sword.

Waru: “Faster! Stronger! Your enemy won't give you a second chance!”

  Valterion: "I'm trying!"

Sweat ran down Valterion's forehead under his helmet. His muscles burned, his arms trembled, but he didn't stop. I couldn't. Every blow, every flash, was a reminder of the last battle. He remembered his wounded friends, remembered the edge of a sword piercing his chest... and above all he remembered his own weakness.

With a fierce scream, Valterion launched a descending cut that Waru barely managed to block. The explosion of energy it generated sent dust and debris flying through the training ground.

Waru: (smiling) "I see... you've improved."

Valterion was breathing agitated, but in his eyes there was something else... something dark.

Waru: "Valterion... if you really want to protect them, you must understand this..."

  Valterion: "What thing?"

Waru approached, his expression was now gloomy.

Waru: "The enemy looks like what he is... scum. And when the time comes... you shouldn't tremble to give him the final blow."

Valterion: (tense) "But... there are lines I can't cross."

Waru: "What if that line condemns millions of lives? What if your mercy allows something worse than death to fall on them? I'm not saying you lose your honor... but don't forget that not all enemies will give you a second chance to be a knight. Sometimes, duty demands that you take one's life to save that of many.”

Those words pierced Valterion's heart. He remembered the battle... Juan facing only an enemy that he could not stop. He remembered the pain in his friends. He remembered his own weakness.

  Valterion: "I won't fail again..."

  Waru: "Then stop holding back."

The training ended and they both sat down to meditate, as always. In front of a table with two cups of tea, silence filled the atmosphere.

Waru: "Valterion... why don't you take off your helmet?"

Valterion: (without hesitation) "It's a symbol... it represents my loyalty, my oath and my duty. If one day I take it off... it's because I will have failed in everything I represent."

  Waru: “Mmm... interesting.”

  Valterion: “Why the question?”

Waru: "Because when I meditate with you... there is something inside you. I can't explain it, but there's something else... something that doesn't belong to this plane."

  Valterion: (frowning) "Something inside me?"

Waru: "I don't know what it is... but we'll find out soon. For now, you must first become the fastest sword in the biuniverse."

  ?

While Valterion trained without rest, the life of the rest of the group advanced with some tranquility.

Lightning was the one who seemed most relaxed... always laughing, always carefree. But in secret, he trained hard every night. His goal was clear: if he couldn't arrive on time... he would find a way to go back in time.

Charlotte, on the other hand, lived more relaxed. But one of the maids had begun to train her in stealth, helping her perfect her physical abilities.

Elizabeth, faithful to her style, trained Charlotte and the maid in the art of the sword, making sure that both were prepared.

Scarlett had locked herself in her lab. Although she hadn't told anyone, she was sure that her last creation was close to being completed... a potion capable of rivaling the power of a god.

  ?

In another corner of the biuniverse, Juan meditated with the Mother. The breeze blew softly, but the conversation was tense.

Mother: "And what do you think of the peace you have achieved?"

Juan: "It's beautiful... but I know it won't last long."

  The Mother looked up, surprised.

Mother: "And why do you think that?"

Juan: "Because... this is too perfect. Things never stay like this for long. I have fought too hard to know that the moments of calm always precede the storm.”

Mother: "That depends... it depends on how strong you are now."

Juan clenched his fists. Although he had trained with the Mother, he felt that something was missing. He could control his power... but he didn't know how to use it to the fullest.

Juan: "I have learned to use my strength... but I have no techniques. I don't have the necessary edge. I know that if I want to be the last hope of the biuniverse... I need more than just power."

  The Mother nodded proudly.

Mother: "And what do you plan to do then?"

Juan: "I'm going to find a teacher... someone to teach me how to become the last hope of the biuniverse."

  ?

The sun slowly hid on the horizon, and in the House of the Supreme Ruler everyone laughed and joked during dinner.

Juan: "Set's take advantage of this moment... because I don't know how long this peace will last."

Charlotte: (taking her drink) "Then let's toast... for this peace to last... and because, if not, we will be ready for whatever comes!"

The cups rose, and between laughter and jokes, something was felt in the air... something that said that this family... this union... would be the key to overcoming any adversity.

  End of chapter 3.
