Chapter 7: Mu Tieyi
Qin Yun turned his head towards the direction of the sound and frowned involuntarily.
He saw a burly black giant, resembling an iron tower, walking towards him with a sinister smile, followed by five or six ruffians. Wherever they went, others hastily made way for them, fearing to get involved in any trouble.
These guys, Qin Yun, are not strangers. They are the local tyrants of Da Jing Town, relying on their martial arts and connections with the authorities to dominate the town, often doing some despicable things that bully the weak, ordinary people dare not provoke them.
The hunters from Shanglie Village often came to Dajing Town to sell their fur goods, and were once forced by them to take away many good animal hides at a low price. Later, the enraged hunters organized people to fight back against the other side, and with the help of the old village chief who had connections with the government, the other side was forced to be cautious.
That time Qin Yun was also involved in the fight, and once punched his opponent so hard that his face was covered in blood, and his nose was smashed.
It is said that when enemies meet, they see red. This tall and dark man obviously found Qin Yun alone and wanted to settle the score.
Six or seven people quickly surrounded Qin Yun, and the people on the docks next to them whispered to each other, but no one dared to come up and stop them.
Many people looked at Qin Yun with sympathetic eyes, sighing that the young man was in for a bad day today. These guys were ruthless and poisonous, and being targeted by them would definitely not end well.
However, Qin Yun was calm and fearless, meeting the opponent's vicious gaze head-on, coldly smiling: "So it's you, has your nose healed yet?"
At the mention of his nose, Hei Da Han's hatred was endless and he felt a dull ache in his nasal bone which had been broken before. His dark face turned purple-red with rage.
He suddenly drew out the sharp cow horn knife inserted in his waist and pointed at Qin Yun, loudly roaring: "Little rabbit, today I'll see where you escape to, brothers, for me..."
Clang!
A clear and crisp sound interrupted the loud shouting of the big black man, his words had not yet been spoken, but he only felt a flash in front of his eyes, and his throat was pressed against by the tip of a long sword!
Holding the long sword was none other than Qin Yun.
The onlookers were in an uproar, no one had seen clearly how Qin Yun drew his sword, only the slanting sunlight shining on the snow-bright blade, refracting a dazzling light that made it impossible to doubt its sharpness.
Everyone believed that Qin Yun would be able to pierce the black giant's throat if he just thrust his sword forward lightly!
The thugs around were stunned, while the big black man's anger suddenly turned into fear. He stared blankly at the long sword pressed against his throat, and the sharp knife in his hand fell to the ground with a clang.
In front of such a formidable opponent, the weapons he used to intimidate ordinary people were so laughable.
Sweat the size of soybeans rolled down from the forehead of the big black man, and for some reason, he felt that as long as he made a slight movement, Qin Yun would kill him without hesitation.
Spare my life... He wanted to beg for mercy, but found that his throat couldn't make a sound, only his Adam's apple moved slightly.
"Holy cow, I'm scared out of my wits!"
A few low laughs came from the crowd.
It was only then that everyone discovered the black man's pants were half wet with urine, and **was dripping from his pant legs. The air was filled with a pungent smell.
The most arrogant local tyrant in Dajing Town was actually scared to pee, this thing will definitely become a huge joke, I guess he won't have the face to hang out here anymore.
"Get out!"
Qin Yun sneered and smiled, he turned his sword around and the Qingxiao Sword flashed left and right in a circle, cutting off all the short knives, short axes, and daggers held by the five thugs!
"What a great move, Broken Sword Style!" Someone in the crowd who knew what they were talking about cheered loudly.
The nine provinces are full of martial artists, and the number of swordsmen is countless. The basic sword techniques that Qin Yun learned have been widely spread among the people, and almost everyone who practices swords knows them.
However, those who can achieve such swift and effortless moves are rare; one sword strike is enough to intimidate these local rascals.
Five thugs along with a big black man turned pale and hastily dispersed in the face of others' ridicule, where was their arrogance from just now?
Qin Yun felt a little proud in his heart, it was the first time he had applied the sword skills he had learned, and the effect was very good.
"Don't look anymore, disperse, disperse!"
At this moment, several green-clad constables pushed through the crowd and walked over.
One of the middle-aged men in the lead walked up to Qin Yun and smiled, "Qin Yun, your skills are getting better and better. Are you going on a long trip?"
When he saw the other party, Qin Yun didn't dare to be slow and quickly put away his sword, saluted and said: "Hello, Uncle Mu!"
This middle-aged man with the surname Mu was named Mu Tieyi, and he was the captain of the town's security squad in Dajing Town. He had more than thirty patrolmen under him and was also a number one figure in the town.
The old village chief of Shanglie Village and Mu's family elders have a relationship, last time the hunters and the town's thugs conflicted, it was still Mu Tieyi who came forward to settle it, so he knew Qin Yun.
"I was preparing to go to Guiyang County, but I didn't know how to take a boat, and those guys came looking for trouble just now..."
"Hmph! These guys, I'll get them sooner or later!" Mu Tieyi's eyes turned cold for a moment, then he smiled and said: "The matter of taking the boat is simple, I'll have someone find a merchant ship for you, we'll wait at the wine house next door."
Mu Tieyi's enthusiasm made Qin Yun somewhat surprised, but the other party was obviously kind-hearted, so he readily followed and came to the Wangjiang Building by the dock with the other party.
Under the enthusiastic hospitality of the wine shop attendant, a sumptuous feast was quickly served.
Mu Tieyi smiled and said, "It takes a long time to get to Guiyang Prefecture, and there aren't that many delicious foods on the boat. Come on, don't be polite, today's meal is considered Big Uncle's farewell gift to you!"
"Thanks Uncle Mu!" Qin Yun felt quite embarrassed.
He grew up in a village since childhood, although he had Qin Yang's guidance, but in terms of getting along with people and things, he was still very immature.
Mu Tieyi was very enthusiastic about pouring wine and serving dishes for Qin Yun, without any of the airs of a senior officer.
Under the other's enthusiasm, Qin Yun also gradually let go and ate until his belly was round - from this morning till now, he hadn't eaten anything yet, and his stomach was growling with hunger!
The poor are called literary and rich martial, people who practice martial arts usually need to eat a lot of meat to support their physical exertion, eating bran and vegetables can't last three to five days without vomiting blood.
Like Qin Yun, who has been cultivating both internally and externally since childhood, Qin Yang often ventures deep into the Cloudy Mountain to hunt and kill ferocious beasts, including demonic creatures, and collects various herbs to concoct food and medicinal elixirs for Qin Yun, which are even more exquisite than those of ordinary wealthy families.
After they had eaten and drunk their fill, Mu Tieyi ordered the remnants of food and empty dishes to be cleared away and tea to be served.
"Qin Yun, I've heard about your grandfather's situation. This time you're going to Guiyang County, are you planning to rely on your relatives?"
Qin Yun nodded and participated in the Qin family's return flow selection, which could also be considered as relying on his relatives.
"Uncle, I've lived a bit longer and seen more people and things, so some of the things I say might not be very pleasant to hear, don't mind it!" Mu Tieyi chose his words carefully and said: "If it's not necessary, try not to use that sword of yours in front of others from now on."
"Why?" Qin Yun was slightly stunned.
"I see that this sword of yours is extraordinary, capable of cutting through iron like mud, and its value may not be less than ten thousand gold coins. It's easy to attract envy from others. You should go to Guiyang County to rely on your relatives and live under their roof, being low-key and cautious in your words and actions."
"Alas, human hearts are unpredictable. What if a strong person takes a liking to your sword and forcibly seizes it, or an elder relative asks for it? This sharp sword won't help you at all; instead, it will bring trouble!"
Qin Yun is not a foolish person. Mu Tieyi just slightly hinted at him and he immediately understood: "I know, thank you for reminding me!"
Mu Tieyi smiled and unsheathed the long sword hanging from his waist: "However, since you're practicing swordplay, you can't be without a sword. This hundred-refined iron sword of mine is decent and not too expensive. You might as well take it."
"How can this be!" Qin Yun hastily pushed back.
Mu Tieyi helped find a boat and invited him to dinner, and even specially reminded him, which made Qin Yun very grateful. How could he still take his sword?
But under Mu Tieyi's insistence, Qin Yun reluctantly accepted it and indeed obtained the refined iron sword. Next time he encountered a small role like Hei Da Han, there was no need to reveal the Qing Feng Sword.
This refined iron sword is about the same length as the Qinglian Sword, and slightly lighter in weight. Qin Yun found it quite suitable to use, most importantly, it didn't draw attention to himself.
Finally, Mu Tieyi also asked his partner to bring paper and pen, and wrote a letter by hand on the table, which was handed over to Qin Yun.
"One of my younger brothers has a business in the county town of Guiyang, his name is Mu Tie Shan. If you encounter any difficulties later on, you can take this letter to him and he will be able to help with minor matters if not major ones."
Qin Yun didn't know what to say and could only solemnly put the letter into his bosom, this favor he had truly owed.
Finally, Mu Tieyi personally escorted Qin Yun onto a merchant ship bound for Guiyang Prefecture.
This three-masted cargo ship mainly transported goods, but also had special cabins for passengers, although it was generally difficult to book a cabin and the price was quite expensive.
As the captain of the Dajing Town, Mu Tieyi had to give some face to the traveling merchants who came and went, so he just sent someone to instruct and soon found the location.
At sunset, a fully loaded merchant ship set sail, taking Qin Yun to Guiyang County thousands of miles away.
Mu Tieyi stood on the dock, watching the merchant ship disappear at the end of the river, with a thoughtful expression on his face.
A patrolman who was on good terms with him asked curiously: "Boss, why are you so good to this kid?"
He looked at Qin Yun as a poor young man from the countryside, while Mu Tieyi usually valued people who were not small characters.
Mu Tieyi smiled and didn't answer.
How can others know what he thinks in his heart?
As the leader of the constables in Dajing Town, Mu Tieyi dealt with all sorts of people every day and had long since developed a pair of piercing eyes.
In his opinion, although Qin Yun is now unremarkable and immature, he may have a day when he will soar to great heights. It's wisest to befriend him before he makes a name for himself.
And what he is paying now is just a sharp iron sword, a meal of wine and food plus a little human feelings, how much can it be worth?
If it's a good deal, there are great benefits; if it's a bad deal, the loss is minimal. Mu Da Tou naturally wants to do this business!
