"Dad!!" The voice was so young that the small wooden living room echoed his shout. He was kneeling against a still body, laying on the raw, dusty wooden floor. His soft fingers traced along the jawline of the still body and soon they gently cupped the crimson-soaked face. He knew that he could save him. But in a society where most hated them, it was a lie painted in gold.
He placed his ear against the shirt one more time to feel the thump of the muscles. He heard it. A faint Lub, Dup. That sound was gradually fading away. His eyes were wet with tears. They fell onto the dusty floor, making the wood wet with salty water.
His father reached a shaking hand towards his cheek. His face was designed in a faint smile, which flashed through the crimson red like a firefly flashing its own charming light for the final time. The rough fingers traced along the soft cheeks. A tear crawled down his face as he caught his child's subtle cheek—that one final gift his wife left as a monument of remembering her.
The cabin was silent. The fire was burning lively, but it did not know what its owner had faced. The open door faced into the wild and dark woods, where silhouettes cannot be judged or hunted.
His father slowly brought his child's young cheek towards his lips, and a soft kiss embraced his forehead. His thumbs gently traced the tears from his child's cheeks.
"My-ch-child. S-s-save y-y-your life," and his arms fell down onto the ground, leaving a young child and his father's still body in a wooden house in the middle of the night.
Chapter 01 - The living life of Dreams...
"Lucas? Hey Lucas! Lucas!!" The moment he heard his fiancé's voice next to him, his memories flashed away from him, leaving the reality behind. He exhaled a deep breath as his palms cleared the sensations he had left from his daydream.
The seashore was lively for a beach day. He knew that this was not the time for hitting a memory backup because he had invited her, and he had to manage the party. He leaned against the leather seat and managed to flash a smile. The stitched Lamborghini logo on the seat was hidden behind his dark hair.
His blue eyes tagged her—that one girl who was sitting in the passenger seat. Her blonde hair, tied in a ponytail, was what he really loved to see. Her eyes were giggling every time. Her deep brown irises flashed the daylight as if they were pure gems.
She frowned. "Hey! Are you okay?" She asked, dragging Lucas back to his reality once again.
He quickly cleared his throat, sending his hand towards that one juice box resting in the cup holder. Ana smiled. She knew what had happened with him, so she quickly jumped at him, letting the juice box fall onto his lap, spilling the fresh taste of apple onto his denim trousers.
Lucas's eyes widened, and he quickly shoved her away gently. "Hey!! What was that for!?" He asked, while cleaning his lap with a soft tissue paper.
She laughed, grabbing the juice box which was resting on his lap. She quickly took the paper straw and planted it in her juice box with a smirk. "I know you were thinking of something deep, Star." She said as her lips touched the very end of the straw where his lips interacted before.
Lucas frowned. "And what does that supposed to mean?" He asked, crossing his arms on his chest, watching the far horizons of the sea.
Ana scoffed. "It's easy. You are a famous character. Movies, theaters, shows, business. That's something specifically simple to be concluded, man," she replied with a grin. Lucas chuckled as he heard her words. What happens if she knew that it was not true? What if he said it?
He sighed as his eyes focused back to the line where the sky and sea embraced. The cockpit became silent, which annoyed Ana. She wanted to keep every moment lighthearted and memorable. She cleared her throat and pressed the stereo button, and soon the white technical noise filled the air loudly, so she quickly lowered the volume level to low. She wanted to confirm if Lucas was fine with it, but what she saw was...

Not what she expected. And partially what she expected.
He was frowning at her for breaking his zen. His blue irises were saying the entire words he didn't let his mouth say. She smiled faintly and quickly switched the channels in a hurry.
The stereo caught a line of connection broadcast after all. The interior flooded with the soft tones of the song "Espresso" by one of Ana's favorite celebrities. She quickly started to vibe with it, which annoyed Lucas, who was watching the horizon along with a firecracker who always looked for a blast. She bounced on and off on the white leather, singing the lyrics. What is this? Is she mocking?
Lucas sighed, shaking his head, and got out of the Huracán Evo. The cold and salty wind embraced his blue tee and his dark, messy hair. He sat on the hood of the white Evo, and tried to focus back on the horizons. But he had to admit that the song from the interior was still loud, so he felt as if it was made just for Ana to annoy him.
Ana watched Lucas, who sat in her vision of the sea, blocking the view. She frowned, followed him out of the car, and walked towards the hood. She stood up right in front of Lucas, with a frown.
Lucas looked at her red cheeks and her eyes. He scoffed. "Why?" He asked, trying to keep up against her anger.
She smirked. "Why? Because, you just need Espresso," she said, vibing along with the song once again, which made Lucas burst into a smile. And soon, it turned into a laugh.
The reason Lucas loved Ana a lot is because she was the anchor of his life. She always wanted him to be cheered up.
She laughed alongside him, sitting next to him. She looked at the horizons where Lucas was addicted so much. She didn't feel anything after all. But as she dug deeper into the sensation, she felt it. He was trying to escape the reality.
Ana's head slowly placed over his shoulder. Strands of blonde hair were flying along with the salty and live winds. The sunlight was glittering against the white finish of the Evo paint, making the moment look warmer.
And soon,
"Hey! Is that Lucas Dandrians!?" A scream of a girl!
Lucas shocked out of his dreams, and he quickly scanned the area to seek the person who called out his name. Ana sighed. She hated that one feeling where somebody random kills their vibe. A LOT.
"Oh my gosh!! It IS him!!" His eyes caught two teens rushing towards them. From behind them followed the teen boys. Maybe boyfriends?
The two girls rushed towards him with a pointed pen and a notepad. "Hey!! Would you mind signing an autograph?"
Lucas went silent. It was so sudden. He had faced millions of situations exactly like this, but not on a day like this. He slightly nodded and quickly scribbled on the notepad in a hurry.
The two girls screamed in joy as they saw his sign was printed on the matte page. The boys followed alongside them, watching from behind, arms crossed. Lucas heard them muttering, "damn man. That Evo looks sick." "yeah. It's a goddamn artcraft with a V10, power of 630 horses, and a cool look. I mean, look at the wedge, dude!"
The girls took out their mobile phones to take a selfie with Lucas, which made him feel a bit of a relief because he knew that selfie means they are about to quit the drama. "Can we take a selfie with you?" They asked, which led Lucas to a nod. They shrieked in happiness as they posed with their phones in their grip, covering Lucas from the sides. They wanted Ana to be away from the selfie, but having both of them led the selfie into a beautiful angle. They thanked them and walked away, looking at the selfies and the sign.
Ana sighed with a hopeful smile. Lucas smirked.
"What?" He asked in confusion.
She shook her head, literally signing, "nothing". She leaned her head next to his shoulder, but before she could reach...
Lucas sighed and stood up. He walked into the car and closed the door behind him. The moments were too loud for a past he wanted to remind again and again to understand the purpose of the human resting under his skin. He switched off the stereo and gripped the steering wheel tightly, forcing himself to focus on the reality. Where he has to act as a professional. Not as a teenager playing with his girlfriend. He has work to do. Yet he knew he's the one who is responsible for the moment. He invited. He felt. Now he's ruining it.
Ana was stunned. Completely stunned.
She didn't know what would be happening in the next second, so she stood up from the hood of the car, looking at Lucas, whose arm already reached for the engine start button, letting the car ignite the growl of the naturally aspirated V10. He looked at Ana and reversed the car away from her.
She was confused, so she took a few steps towards the White Evo, which was growling its melancholy voice.
"W w w wait!! Where are you running off to!?" She screamed at the car, which was moving away from her. The car sped up to the front and then stopped a few yards away from her. Lucas popped his head out of the sliding window and screamed at her.
"Are you coming or not?"
