Chapter 12: A Frightening Battle

  Chapter Twelve: A Frightful Battle

Hiding in the bushes, I saw that things were not going well, so I stood up and rushed out of the bushes, running in another direction. In fact, I was already scared to death, being chased by a strong zombie in the dark night was not something fun, I ran while praying, hoping that my father and Uncle Locke could follow the clues I left behind and find this place as soon as possible.

After becoming a zombie, Dabao refused to attack Xiling, but showed no mercy towards me. He roared with anger and chased after me. I ran desperately, shouting loudly: "Dabao, it's me! I'm Yalick, don't you recognize me?" But Dabao ignored my cries, continuing to charge towards me with large strides. On the other hand, the nearby lich heard my words and let out a harsh laugh, sneering at me as he shouted: "He's already a zombie, he can't understand what you're saying! Don't be foolish, just wait for death! You actually dare to challenge a lich with your bow and arrow? I'll make sure you suffer a fate worse than death!"

Cerlin saw me being chased and rushed up, catching up with Dabo, holding him back with force while shouting at Dabo: "Dabo, don't do this, he's your friend!" But Dabo didn't care at all, pushing Cerlin to the ground and continuing to chase after me. Thanks to Cerlin's delay, the distance between Dabo and me opened up slightly, and in my desperation, I rushed under a tree, displaying extraordinary agility, quickly climbing to the top of the tree.

Dabo, who was catching up, seemed to be unable to climb trees at all. He just roared and slapped the tree trunk under the tree, staring at me with his eyes wide open.

The undead warlock saw me climb the tree and knew he couldn't do anything to me for a while, so he turned around and ordered Dabao to attack Serin. However, Dabao ignored this order. Dabao's disobedient attitude made the undead warlock extremely angry, and using some unknown method, caused Dabao to crouch on the ground in pain, holding his head tightly with both hands and growling softly.

The undead warlock glared at Dabao and bellowed, "You ungrateful corpse, I awakened you from the depths of darkness and gave you a second life. How dare you defy your master's orders? Your fate is in my hands. If I want you to live, you'll live; if I want you to die, you'll die. Get up quickly! Go kill that woman for me!"

Dabo slowly stood up, looking at Celine with a bewildered expression, raised his hands, and then dropped them dejectedly, unable to make an attacking move towards Celine.

"Serin, Dabo won't attack you! Awaken the good conscience in his heart and get rid of that damned lich wizard!"

Celine gazed sorrowfully at Dapo, slowly walking to his front, stretching out one hand, gently stroking Dapo's face. Dapo stopped moving, staring blankly at Celine, making whimpering sounds with his mouth. Seeing Dapo like this, Celine's tears flowed freely on her face. Celine said sorrowfully to Dapo: "Dapo, do you still recognize me? I'm your beloved Celine, wake up and say a word to me, even just one sentence is fine. Dapo, do you still love me? I regret not letting you help me pick that flower, I regret not holding onto you, I regret not cherishing you well when you were alive, Dapo, I can't live without you!" Dapo seemed to understand Celine's words, making even more heartbreaking whimpering sounds with his mouth.

The undead warlock beside him saw that things were getting out of control and immediately began to exert special means to torment Dabao again. Dabao knelt on the ground in agony once more, Serene hugged Dabao tightly with a pained heart, crying out to the undead warlock: "Please don't torture him anymore, let him die in peace, he's a pitiful person, why are you so cruel?"

Suddenly, Dabo raised his head and let out a furious roar towards the sky. He pushed Serin aside, stood up, and began to walk step by step towards the Necromancer. The Necromancer saw that Dabo had intentions of attacking him and was greatly terrified. As he retreated backwards in a panic, he said fearfully: "You, you, you want to do what? I am your master, you cannot attack me, you must obey my will, go quickly and kill those two people for me!"

Dabo's shout to the Lich had no effect, and instead he approached him at an increasingly faster speed. When Dabo rushed in front of him, he stretched out his arms and tightly trapped the Lich, opening his mouth and biting down on him, causing the Lich to let out a loud scream.

The wretched undead mage screamed in agony towards Dabo: "You dare to attack me, I'll make you fall into eternal darkness, never to see the hope of life again!" After finishing speaking, the undead mage raised his right hand, a black light entered Dabo's brain, and Dabo helplessly let go of the undead mage, falling to the ground.

I saw the undead warlock trapped by Dabao from the tree, knowing that the opportunity was not to be missed, I immediately slid down the tree. Taking advantage of the undead warlock's attention being attracted by Dabao, I quickly approached. When I reached a distance of less than one hundred steps from the two, I immediately opened my bow, put on a feathered arrow, and aimed at the undead warlock. My mouth began to recite the prayer of the elf tribe to the wind element, the wind element surrounded me and rotated, forming a green whirlpool. My fingers quickly trembled, drawing out special trajectories, guiding the wind element to gather on the arrow.

As Dabo fell, my arrow had already drawn a string of afterimages in the air and flew towards the Lich. The arrow pierced through the Lich's body, bringing out a trail of fresh blood, flying over a very long distance, nailed to a tree, the feathered tail quivering violently for a long time before slowly coming to a stop.

The undead warlock looked down at his own chest in disbelief, then looked up at me again, and finally knelt to the ground with a thud. He let out a desperate cry before his death: "Damn you, village husband! You dare to shoot an undead warlock? My teacher will definitely come to avenge me!" After finishing speaking, he whispered some unintelligible incantations, then struggled to raise one hand and pointed at me. A green glow flew towards me from my forehead and entered it. Having done all this, the undead warlock grinned hideously, spat out a mouthful of blood, and collapsed to the ground.

I touched my own forehead, didn't find anything unusual, so I went forward and turned the corpse of the necromancer over, probed in front of his nose, confirmed that he was dead, and only then did I thoroughly let out a breath, weakly sitting on the ground.

Not far away, Serene wept and picked up Dapo's head, placing it on her knees. She softly called out to Dapo's name, hoping he would respond to her.

As if hearing Celine's call, Dapo opened his eyes, the redness in them had faded away. Dapo seemed to have used up all his strength, lifted his hand to wipe away Celine's tears and gave her a smile, as if saying: "Don't cry, dear, it's all over, I love you!"

The life breath quickly disappeared from Dabo's eyes, and Dabo's hands fell down weakly.

The dawn's light shone on Dapo's face, as if he was just asleep, with a satisfied smile still on his face. Serene's tears fell on his face, refracting the morning sunlight into colorful rays.

Celine's sobbing, like a mournful melody, swirled and entwined in the morning air, as if the whole world was crying with her...
