Volume 3 Journey Chapter 41 Practice
A month-long voyage is nothing for those who are used to living at sea, but it's a disaster for inland people. Fortunately, the "Wave Breaker" is a sturdy ocean-going ship that sailed relatively smoothly, only getting rough when the wind and waves were too strong. Even so, I was seasick for the first two weeks of my maiden voyage at sea. By the time we arrived at our destination, I had turned green and was weak in the knees, walking as if on cotton wool. Along the way, Sulina took good care of me, and we quickly became familiar with each other.
This morning, I woke up early after adapting to seasickness. According to my daily routine, the best time for magic practice is in the morning when magical elements are most active and one's spirit is at its best. On the other hand, nighttime is ideal for meditation as the magical elements are stable during the quiet night, and it's less likely to be disturbed by others, making the efficiency of meditation much higher than during the day.
These days, being on the ship with nothing to do, apart from communicating and understanding each other with Suriya, I've been spending most of my time practicing magic. My spiritual power has increased rapidly, and my proficiency and strength in water and wind magic have also grown quickly due to the abundance of these elements at sea.
I sat in the cabin, flipping through my teacher's magical notes while doing some quiet magic exercises. The wind system has a lot of variable magic, including attack magic, auxiliary magic, and defensive magic, each with considerable power. Recently, I've been studying the application of water giants in water-based magic. I summoned a miniature water person, having it shoot out small water bullets one moment and summon a tiny whirlpool the next, keeping me busy and entertained.
Suddenly, Su Lina's knock on the door came from outside: "Alek, are you up? We'll be arriving at our destination soon. Do you want to get ready?"
Is it going to arrive so soon? I was startled in my heart, and the small water person "plop" disappeared, leaving a puddle of water on the ground. I walked forward and opened the door to see Suriya standing outside with some tension.
I invited her in, closed the door, and stared at her for a while until she felt uneasy. Then I said: "That... you can't be so tense, like I was just staring at you, lovers should look at each other with affection, right? Who feels uneasy like you?"
Sulina nodded and said, "Oh, I see. Next time I'll try to act more like it." Then she looked at me curiously and said, "Huh? You seem very experienced! Do you have a lover?" I smiled and said, "I haven't tried it myself but I've seen it before... just pay attention and observe... don't talk nonsense, I still don't have a girlfriend!"
I suddenly pulled up Sulina's hand, Sulina was startled and wanted to pull her hand back, but she hesitated for a moment and relaxed again, letting me hold it, with only a slight blush on her face.
I suddenly had a playful impulse, took a step forward and wrapped my arms around her, at which point Suriya completely lost it, like a startled rabbit, and jumped out. Her face bright red, she said: "I'm not used to this..."
I burst out laughing in my heart, but I tried my best to hold it back and said expressionlessly: "This is unbearable, what if we need to kiss then?"
Surina's face turned red as she stood there, thinking for a moment, as if she had made up her mind. She came to me and leaned into my arms, closed her eyes and said: "Kiss me!"
Her soft body was in my arms, the girl's fragrance lingered around me, and I really couldn't take it anymore... I smiled and pushed her away, saying: "Alright, alright, just kidding with you, shouldn't we put on a show of kissing in front of them? At most, it's just holding hands or hugging waist."
After finishing speaking, I picked up my own things and walked out of the cabin door with a loud laugh. The distant land was quickly approaching, and the port could already be vaguely seen.
The port has gathered a lot of people to welcome, when the ship docks, the trumpet team on the shore blows long trumpets at the same time. Although it is only an island country, the royal family is still the royal family after all. This scene is not as grand as the imperial emperor's return parade I saw in the Imperial Capital, but it is also quite impressive.
I walked shoulder to shoulder with Sulina down the "Wave Breaker", Sulina's guards followed behind, swords at their sides. The knights on shore lined up on both sides, riding proudly on horseback, and as the commander gave the order, they paid us the highest honor of knighthood: a sword salute. The snow-white blades shone brightly in the sunlight, making me feel that Sulina's army was magnificent.
The high-ranking officials who came to greet us were led by a middle-aged man in red robes, who walked forward and bowed slightly to us, saying: "Your Highness the Princess, welcome back to your own country with your husband. You have worked hard abroad for a year." The words sounded polite and courteous, with an attitude that was both intimate and kind. If it weren't for Sulina telling me in advance that this was her uncle who had competed with her for the throne, I would have almost thought that the speaker was some obedient minister.
Surina also had a gentle smile, and said softly: "I'm an exception this year, I've been working hard with King to help my mother manage the country. If you say it's hard work, I'll just be tired from running around, but you're the one who's most tired. I don't know if there's anything that's gone wrong during my absence."
I clearly saw the muscles on the king's face twitch, and then immediately revealed a gentle smile: "Your Highness, please rest assured, everything is under my control, no one can play tricks under my eyes."
"Sulina smiled and said: 'Things are hard to predict, Uncle is really worried.'"
The king chuckled and said with humility: "It's nothing, it's all for this country, a matter of course."
Two people were exchanging blows, when a minister on the side suddenly said: "Your Highness, is this person next to you the husband you met and married during your studies on the mainland? Introduce this young hero to everyone."
Very naturally, everyone's eyes in the scene focused on me. I felt that many people were silently observing me, with scrutiny, suspicion, jealousy, and watching the excitement. Even I felt that many eyes were filled with hostility and provocation towards me. It seems that the fire is about to burn over my body soon......
