Chapter Eleven: The Rejected Proposal
Time slowly passed, and in the span of over a dozen days, Mo Yan's small plot of land had been completely worked over by the Sart warriors who were as excited as if they had been injected with chicken blood. However, the still unsatisfied Sart warriors demanded that an even larger area be cleared, reasoning that the current size of the land was fundamentally insufficient to yield much produce. Mo Yan expressed disdain towards this.
Compared to the method of planting used by the Nassal people, which is basically the same as scattering seeds and then ignoring them, Mo Yan said that you primitive people do not understand what it means to cultivate carefully. This piece of land, which does not look very large, can potentially produce half of your village's grain yield if planted well.
Since there is no more land to cultivate, these Saltor warriors who are no longer cultivating the land are now being trained by Mo Yan. Every day, under Mo Yan's leadership, they perform a set of exercises that many Saltor warriors do not understand, the War God Prayer Exercise. Then, with the warriors, either shouting strange slogans and running wildly in the jungle, or standing still in the muddy water, lined up in neat rows, getting soaked in the rain. Or, holding up logs cut into sections, doing some strange movements.
Looking at the Sart warriors who were becoming more and more fanatical about the War God and friendlier to Mo Yan, Emily didn't know if this change was good or bad. Among these people, only Emily understood what Mo Yan said, those things about the War God and honor, which were just his tricks to fool the Sart warriors.
Mo Yan had privately confessed to her that he didn't believe in the war god at all. But Emily couldn't tell these Sart warriors whose souls were confused by Mo Yan's deception. After all, the worship of the war god was a long-standing faith in the village, and although these warriors did strange things under Mo Yan's leadership, Emily could see that.
The original three village elites have become even more united. From the increasing number of barbecue and Aruba's originally solid muscles, it can be seen that these warriors have become stronger due to those strange activities. Mo Yan's explanation for this is that they are all blessings from the war god, affirming them.
This explanation made these warriors even more fanatical, throwing themselves into the activities led by Mo Yan. In just over a dozen days, Mo Yan had already led these warriors to conquer several groups of magical creatures that were quite powerful, subjugate over a thousand earth elementals, and capture many powerful magical creatures. Of course, if it weren't for Mo Yan not being able to stop them in time, those excited Salter warriors would have probably doubled this number.
In Emily's view, Mo Yan was just using the name of the war god to expand his own power. When he expressed his concerns in his heart to Aruba in secret, Mo Yan, who had extremely sharp ears on one side, made Aruba lean towards him with one sentence: "I recovered these demons, so the danger outside the village in the forest didn't decrease a lot?"
But in fact, if those Sart warriors made Emily a little worried, then the two devils who came to Moyan's cave naked a few days ago would make Emily even more annoyed. Nowadays, Moyan is either training those Sart warriors or embracing these two hellish demons all day long.
"Haha... So that's what the Lord of Hell is like, really foolish to the core." Mo Yan lifted up Lilith's chin and kissed her forcefully, saying: "Actually letting someone in his own castle cut off his head."
The demon of hell is indeed a professional, even if she only wrapped two pieces of not-so-good fabric around her body now, but being wrapped by Lilith and Vivian with a peculiar technique, it looks exceptionally charming. The parts that should be exposed are all outside the wrapping of the fabric, while those areas that make people's imagination run wild are faintly visible.
"Wait until I and Emily sign a contract with their village." Mo Yan drank from the wine cup handed over by Vivian, promising: "I will make two sets of clothes for you, styles that you have never seen before, absolutely good-looking."
"My village won't, make clothes for the devil!" Emily stirred the bear meat on the fire and said in a bad tone: "I think you've already been enchanted by these two demons, and your soul has been turned upside down?"
"Little Emily is sulking, huh?" Vivian said with a smile as she bent down to look at Emily who was sitting on the ground roasting meat.
"Hmph! A group of demonic creatures." Emily stood up, furiously yelling at Vivian who was teasing her: "If you insult me like that again, I'll kill you!"
"Alright, Emily." Mo Yan chuckled and pulled Vivian into his arms, saying: "When they decide to kill me, you'll have the chance to kill them, won't you? However... by the time they can kill me, they'll probably be very strong. You'd better increase your strength if you want to avenge me."
When they heard Mo Yan's words, Lilith and Vivian's bodies stiffened, but seeing Mo Yan still drinking wine with a nonchalant expression, they relaxed their bodies.
"What are you talking about? How could we kill you?" Lili picked up a piece of roasted bear meat and stuffed it into Mo Yan's mouth, covering his small mouth and laughing.
"Yes. You're so powerful." Vivian stretched out her small hand to wipe the meat juice from Mo Yan's mouth and chimed in, "How could you be killed by us, who are so weak? You really know how to joke."
"Haha……" Mo Yan stretched out his arms and pulled the two into a hug, laughing as he said: "If you want to do it, then just do it. If I get killed by you guys, that only means I'm either not foolish or not strong enough! Death is what I deserve! The stories you've been telling over the past few days, I know many of the main characters are actually yourselves. Although you used different names as substitutes, I can still sense it - those who killed the lord and confused the king were indeed you guys."
"Are you going to kill us then?" Vivian's eyes, shining with tears, looked up at Mo Yan pitifully.
"Not until I get bored with you guys." Mo Yan stroked Vivian's small horns on her head and smiled, "So what I can guarantee is to make myself strong enough not to give you the chance to kill me. And you guys also have to guarantee that you will always keep me interested, or else I won't let you live. Before any of us kills each other, I'll protect you guys. That's my promise."
"You really are one of a kind." Lirien continued to feed Mo Yan, smiling and saying: "No one has ever said such things to us before."
"Who knows?" Mo Yan said with a smile, fondling Lili's soft breasts: "Then I'll just think that those lords in the underworld are all big fools."
The lords of hell are not all fools, but it is unclear at present. However, Mo Yan obviously knows that the demons who coexist with the charming demons in the same place must be more familiar with the habits of the charming demons than he is. Nevertheless, from ancient times to the present, there have been many powerful demons who died at the hands of their beloved charming demons, which can be seen as a testament to the deadliness of this species. Moreover, those who can become lords in hell are not strong and cunning?
"It's no wonder you're a demon." Emily looked at Mo Yan, who was smiling and saying such terrifying things, and sneered, "Only you guys would be so ruthless, not taking your own lives seriously."
"Oh? Did Emily really fall in love with me like Vivian said? Otherwise, why is she so concerned about my life?" Mo Yan looked at Emily, who was smiling as she packed the roasted bear meat into wooden plates, and said: "That's quite a worry, Aruba wouldn't let his sister fall in love with a demon."
"Who would fall in love with you! This damned pervert!" Emily stood up, picked up the wooden tray and walked out. But Emily's face slowly turned pink, and her heartbeat was abnormally intense. It made Emily wonder if she had really fallen for this demon, but Emily soon calmed down, convincing herself that she was just unaccustomed to Mo Yan's teasing tone.
"Emily? Why is your face so red? Are you sick?" Aruba asked with concern as she walked into the cave and brushed past Emily.
"It's just a little hot!" Amy ran out of the cave, leaving Aruba somewhat bewildered.
"What's wrong with Emily?" Aruba asked Mo Yan, who was playing with Lirisa: "By the way, the messenger from the village has arrived. It seems that the village has already discussed it."
"Maybe it's just because the fire is a bit strong." Mo Yan shrugged and jumped down from the stone bed, saying: "Let's go... We'll go see your village's messenger and see how things turn out. Hopefully, we won't get a refusal."
"We refuse to make a contract with a monster!" a Sault warrior replied resolutely.
