I have been getting a lot of negative comments and reviews regarding the beginning of this story, I agree with most of them (kinda, very loosely.)
The scores on those reviews were way harsher than I feel they should have been, but there's nothing I can do about that.
I really don't want to have to spend the time and willpower going back and editing the early chapters. However, I've come to three solutions, and I would like your input.
1. I ignore the hate and continue on. (This is what I'd most like to do.)*
2. I listen and rewrite the beginning. (My least favorite option, but if you feel like it's needed I will do it.)
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
3. I write a reimagining. This will be a brand-new story that will reimagine the events in this one. Basically, only the first half of the very first chapter will remain, and the story will be completely new and overhauled. (This story will continue, and no changes will be made to the beginning.) I've already begun to plan this out and it's quite interesting IMO.
Basically, the reimagining is: What if Jin Shu was never born into the Jin Family and instead received a weapon crafting system? (It becomes LitRPG-lite.)
*If this story ever gets published, (self or signed with an actual publisher,) it will get an overhaul to the beginning regardless. However, it's unlikely that a publisher will pick it up, and I don't have the money to self-publish.
Below, you will find a poll; please vote on which option you'd like to see. Comments are also greatly appreciated. To incentivize you to vote, I will release a bonus chapter if we reach 100 votes.
Which option is the best?
