A majestic encounter

It took about an hour of walking to find a place to cross. In a place where the river narrows I find a log that spans the width of the river. It seems sturdy enough as I test it with my weight giving it a few good stomps.

Molly seems to be in a much better mood, now that she knows we are working towards a goal.

As we balance across with her holding my hand she jokingly starts singing.

"London bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down."

"London bridge is falling down, my fair lady."

"Build it up with wood and clay, wood and clay, wood and clay."

"Build it up with wood and clay,my fair lady."

She sings through the different verses as we cross.

Fortunately for our sake the log we are using as a bridge does not fall down like in the song. We make it precariously but safely across.

Having made it to the other side I decided it was a good place to take a short rest with the river at our back. Recharging my battery a bit with Molly finally eating her breakfast. I decided that now would be a good time to buy the buckler.

I remembered how I had been taken off guard by the goblins and back in the cave where the skeleton had come in from my blind side.

If I had the buckler at the time I may have been able to block those hits. I made the purchase and the buckler appeared in front of us.

Molly helped me strap it onto my left arm when I asked her politely. Thus equipped and ready we continued on into the woods in the direction of the goblin camp.

Walking along I kept my head on a swivel trying to compensate for my missing eye. The woods were quiet. In lue of the sunlight coming through the trees it was somehow peaceful.

I still kept up my guard which is why I was the first to hear the rustling. The sound of hoof beats slowly drawing near.

Into the clearing strode forth something that could only be described as majestic. A horse with a long elegant horn on its head with beautiful blue eyes. I only knew the name for it because of reading Molly's bedtime stories. It was a---

"Pony!" Molly gasped. Staring it in dumbstruck awe.

Remembering the rabbit that attacked Molly. I step in front of her. The (Pony) however doesn't charge but instead turns to the side showing a dagger lodged in its shoulder.

"It's hurt." Molly says. She turns to me with an unspoken plea to heal it.

  I don't think it's such a good idea. I tell her.

"Ida, Please." She begs, giving me those soulful puppy dog eyes.

  I sigh and relent.

"Ok, but you need to stay here while I do this." I tell her. She agrees to do so.

I slowly approach the (pony). It stiffens as if it can tell that I am not part of the natural order of things. That I am made of plastic and metal instead of flesh and blood. It does however allow me to approach.

Slowly I reach for the dagger imbedded in its shoulder and with one strong yank to comes out. It neighs in pain as do so but for the most part stays still. I pocket the dagger in my dress. Then I get to work healing it.

It takes a good chunk of Aether to heal it. By this time Molly has approached despite my insistence. When the job is done. The creature turns to us as it's horn starts to glow a soft light.

As it gives us a nod of thanks. A notification appears in Molly's and I's system windows.
