Chapter 183- Is He Toying With Us?

Nerissa walked up to his brother’s body, tears dripping down his cheeks as he buried his face in his chest.

  “I-I”..

Ying Xin sighed as she gripped her spear, the tip of the spear glowed with a glint upon the steel blade.

“Well I can’t just let you kill everyone here can I”?

She threw the spear as fast as humanly possible.

A spear made purely of human imagination, a golden spear forged before the beginning of the universe itself.

Tartarus stared at the magnificent spear.

“How in Gaia’s Green Earth do you have that”?!

The spear was filled with an unknown energy, Tartarus himself felt something in that spear, he dodged it instinctively before it hit his face.

“How do you have one of Chronus’ weapons”?

The Spear landed with a thud on the ground, as it landed it lost its glow.

The Spear disappeared in a flash reappearing back into Ying Xin’s hands.

  She smirked.

“Is this really his weapon? You seem scared of it, seems I found a gem then”.

She spun the spear as the energy began to build up, the spear’s tip became bright and even brighter.

The entire place began to shake, like someone was trying to get in. Tartarus had casted a barrier around the city to not let anything else in. Yet that very impenetrable barrier was shaking.

Tartarus’s chains flew towards the spear at breakneck speeds, wrapping around the base of the spear pulling it away from her.

Yet the spear returned back into her hands like Tartarus never even took it in the first place, the tip of the spear fired off with a golden energy directly towards Tartarus as he barely dodged it with a scratch on his face.

Tartarus began to recollect himself as he sighed.

“I mean, I was a little surprised but I will never be beaten with mere borrowed power, the only person that can beat me is one who has put in effort”.

Nerissa stared at Tartarus with a deep hatred in his eyes as he crawled towards him, seething with malice.

“I should not have let him come, I told him not to but he was so persistent, he wanted to be something he couldn’t”.

His fingers clenched, all he wanted was for Tartarus’s death, the only member of his family that was left killed right before his eyes.

  “Just die”!!

A blue ember glowed from his fingertips as he shot out a burst of flames, destroying everything that stood in front of him.

Tartarus calmly walked out of the flames as he walked out with a complete suit, he grabbed his wrists as he began fixing up his suit.

His skin became pale and his hair completely white, he put on white gloves to not dirty himself any longer.

“Thanks for the heat, it was a nice bath, maybe I should start getting more serious”.

As he snapped his fingers, his chains came up from down below, floating behind him like a snake circling around his body.

He began to rise up into the sky, flying black shards began to surround him in a circular pattern as chains came up from underneath.

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

The Angel looked up at him as he began to break the chains with brute strength.

  Tartarus looked down.

“How did a beast like you manage to break through my chains, they can withstand the full force of a Universe.

The Angel began to jump onto Tartarus, grabbing him by the head.

“Get off me you foul beast”!

The black shards flew towards the Angel as they disappeared right before hitting the Angel directly.

  “What are you”!?

Tartarus grabbed the Angel by the neck as the large creature began to fire off rapid punches towards Tartarus.

Tartarus blocked every single attack with a single hand without even looking in the first place, he could sense even the smallest vibrations in the wind, he could even hear electrical signals in the brain, he could predict what someone could do a single millisecond before they even launched the attack.

  “Can’t you stay down”?

He held his fist high in the air as he smashed down on the Angel with the force of a black hole pressing down on it.

The Angel fell through the ground, far from the surface into the abyssal dimension of hell, a giant crater left in its path.

Ying Xin gripped her spear as she threw it, Tartarus’ vision blurred as his ears started ringing, his head started to spin but his instinct yelled at him.

Ying Xin’s power was to debuff her enemy, the more the targets, the shorter the durations of the effects.

Her power was to cancel out all of the sense of her foe.

Tartarus instincts told him to dodge.

“How terrible of me to rely on pure instincts like a beast”.

Tartarus managed to collect himself as he stared at his own arm, pierced by the spear, as the spear started bulging like a muscle.

Before the spear could act, Tartarus ripped off his own arm and threw it onto the floor.

“Curses? How rare, seems that you were built for assassinations rather than fighting in a war”.

  Ying Xin smiled.

“How clever of you”. The spear immediately returned to her hands. “Seems like the only thing you’re wary of is my spear yet you’ve not blown me away from the face of this planet yet”.

Tartarus stared at the small girl before him.

“I like to keep myself on edge, a one sided fight feels bland like eating a stale piece of bread, a fight is like a piece of writing, every strike is like a stroke of the pen, fighting with instinct is just writing gibberish on a piece of paper, there’s no sauce to it”.

Nerissa pointed his only hand as blood dripped down his mouth, tears dripped down his cheek as he stared at Tartarus, everyone immediately began to back off as Nerissa began to speak.

  “Ultimate Ability Flash Fire”.

The surroundings began to change, the city landscape became hotter as the ground began to sink, sand surrounded them as a hot sun rose in the sky, sweat began pouring down Tartarus’ head as he stared in a landscape alone with Nerissa.

  Tartarus smiled.

“It seems that you’ve mastered your power to the fullest, I was right even with one arm, you’ll do fine”.

Tartarus stared at his missing arm as his flesh began to regenerate at a rapid pace, his bones and muscles started swelling as his arm returned to normal.

“But I’m afraid something like this ultimate will ultimately not do anything”.

Nerissa’s hands began to lit ablaze as a wave of flame began to swallow everything within the sky, coming down directly onto Tartarus.

He stood unfazed within the flames, his suit began to stitch itself back together, as he walked out of the flames cracking his neck.

“I have an immunity to flames after all I live in the deepest part of the underworld after all”.

Tartarus smiled. “Stop trying when you know it has no effect”.

Nerissa wiped his own mouth of his blood as he raised his hand once more.

“All I need to do is tire you out”.

  Tartarus spoke once more.

“I have a near infinite supply of energy even in a nerfed state as I am now, you won’t be able to do that”.

Tartarus pushed his heel into the ground as the sky began to crack, the entire dimension fell apart as soon as the ultimate began.

The walls of the sky shattered as they returned to the normal world.

The city around them was in an apocalypse, fire surrounded them. Tartarus snapped his finger as the fire went out.

Black char left behind from the flame, broken down buildings surrounded them as the underworld began to consume the surface.

Darkness surrounded them as the broken buildings began to gain red accents. A large tower poked out from the center as a giant eye began to stare at all of the adventurers.

Nearly all of the adventurers began to collapse from the smoke, the lava was boiling hot, splashing onto them, completely melting away at their skin.

  “Ahhhh! Help me, please”!

Asami looked around quickly, staring at the apocalyptic landscape before her as sweat poured down her head, her hair began to rapidly fall off.

“Come on think! He must have some kind of vulnerability”.

She stared at the large tower in the center.

“That can’t be his weakness can it? He wouldn’t place it in such an obvious area”.

Asami thoughts began to wander due to the heat, her head began to ache.

[Why are we even fighting? Aren’t we both on the same side? We both want Erebus to die so why are we even fighting in the first place? I thought they were here to kill Erebus]

Large spikes surrounded them like a wall preventing them from completely escaping.

Tartarus began to laugh maniacally as he stood on Zhao’s back like a pedestal.

Zhao gripped his head, clawing at his own skin as he began to bawl his eyes out from the mental pain.

Tartarus stared down at Zhao, clicking his tongue as he looked down with disdain.

  “Stop shaking”.

Tartarus pressed his heel onto Zhao’s back, smashing him into the ground as blood spurted from his lips.

“Welcome to my domain, the domain of Tartarus”.

Lava bubbled in pools that surrounded them, the air was piping hot, where even rock flowed like water.

“No need to worry so much humans, If I deem you talented, I’ll let you off with your life intact, after all I need to use you all to beat Erebus”.

Asami stared at him with a rage on her face.

“Why are you doing this, why aren’t out fighting Erebus instead”!?

  Tartarus grabbed his chin.

“Huh? Hmm I have no clue, it’s like I was instilled with a message to cause as much destruction as possible right after I possessed this body but let me tell you one thing, I’ll extend my hand in the fight against Erebus if you manage to beat me”.

  “Shut up already, you’re annoying”.

She had dark hair with orichalcum eyes that changed into a shade of blue, she wore shorts and a jacket with knuckle dusters adorning her fists.

Her fist smashed into Tartarus’ back sending him flying a couple hundred meters straight into a building.

Her hand was glowing with a white energy, her knuckles encased with pure energy.

  “Neila how was that”?

Neila looked up from down below, his white hair was as white as a star and red eyes pierced into her.

“I mean, you could do better”.
