I saw the same dead eyes as always, his eyes were like black holes sucking me into them.
He was the first person I met at the gate of the entrance exam.
I sighed as I walked up towards him extending out my arm as I forced a smile.
“Hi, what’s your name”?
He glanced at me and immediately looked back as he kept walking towards the entrance.
Even after knowing him for fifteen years, he was extremely reserved no one ever knew anything about him. He had never opened up to anyone and his power was still a mystery to most after all he never decided to get it graded, no one had ever seen the limits of his abilities either.
His background was just as mysterious, no known country of origin and no known family member, he was like an enigma.
I looked at the watch on my wrist.
[08: 40]
“It seems that I’m early”. I thought to myself, scratching my head as I pondered. “What was his name again? Neila? Where does it even originate from”?
I walked behind him as I grabbed his shoulder.
“Hey”! I called him again.
“Get off me, stop bothering me, I don’t want to deal with anyone like you”. He said calmly, his voice was unreadable.
His empty eyes locked onto mine, piercing straight into my soul like thorns.
I immediately backed away.
“Whatever”. I sighed.
The second the clock reached 8:45
Hundreds of applicants swarmed the gates, it was like a sea of students like an ant colony reaching out towards the glass door.
I was dragged in the sea as getting pushed left and right by the other students, as Neila disappeared right before my eyes as he said a word.
“Queen”.
A bunch of girls came up to me with their phones in their hands with jolly expressions.
“Are you Jaclyn? The S class? Can we have photos”?
I really hate this.
I despise attention.
“Maybe later, after the exam”.
A large wind blew past, knocking many students to the ground, standing within the midst of it was a foreigner with blonde hair and blue eyes, he had a grin on his face showing his superiority over everyone as he blitzed past them once more at lightning speeds.

He glanced once at my direction as his voice was filled with sass.
“Try and catch up with me later will ya”?
The academy was overflowing with hopeful students, each one desperate to prove themselves.
This school only accepted prodigies—individuals with abilities strong enough to stand at the top. Everyone wanted recognition. Everyone wanted to be unique.
We were carried to special rooms for testing, an empty room with a barrier surrounding it strong enough to widthstand a bomb to prevent collateral damage to the surroundings.
A man stood right in front of me, his muscles were toned and strong, I could tell just by looking at them, I could see them even through his tracksuit. His hair was brown and his chin was chiseled like a greek statue.
“My name’s Chris, I’m from America and I possess the power of strengthening, I’ll be your test for today, it’s fine if you don’t manage to beat me, you’ll still have other tests to go through, so tell me young lady, what’s your name”?
I replied as I stretched my arms getting ready for a fight.
“Name’s Jaclyn”.
He smiled. “Well Jaclyn, I hope you don’t disappoint, attack me with everything you got because I won’t be holding back either”.
A brilliant light glowed from within my left palm, a large broadsword appeared within my hand, adorned with silver and gold with a single giant crystal embedded within the center of its handle.
“You can summon weapons? I’d like to see you try to even hurt me”. The man’s skin hardened into a steel like substance.
I lifted it up into the air with one swoop as its weight increased to the point where I couldn’t even lift it.
100 kilos, 500 then 5 tons.
The moment it slammed down, he barely managed to block it, his entire body trembling under the force.
His smirk was long gone. His knees buckled.
“What’s wrong?” I taunted. “Shaking from a little girl?”
His arms cracked.
A sharp breath escaped him before he shouted, “I surrender! I give up!”
I lifted the claymore, letting it shrink back into my palm. “So? What do you think?”
The instructor exhaled deeply, rubbing his sore arms. “Jaclyn… you’re strong. You have potential.” He pulled out a tablet, tapping a few things into it. “I’ll be giving you a letter of recommendation for the higher-ups, you’re excused from the other tests”.
The academy uniform was surprisingly simple—white T-shirts, black jackets, and black jeans for boys. Girls had skirts instead.
Considering how plain it was, I had to admit… it was kinda cute.
I stood in front of my new classmates and gave a casual introduction.
“Hey, I’m Jaclyn. My ability is Hero. I’m an S-class. I was born here in Japan, but I’m half American. Nice to meet you all.”
Whispers spread across the room.
“An S-class? That’s insane.”
“She’s gorgeous, too. What do you think?”
“I can’t believe both S-classes are in the same class as me.”
Wait… another S-class?
That had to be the speedster. The one with Super Speed. His abilities rivaled mine, though it was debatable which one was stronger.
Well, I’d figure that out later. For now, I needed to get familiar with everyone.
Nearby, a group of students was chatting. One of them—a girl with long, wavy hair—held up a hairpin shaped like a butterfly.
“Haru, where’d you get that pin?” another girl asked.
“My mom bought it for me. Cute, isn’t it? It was five thousand yen.”
“That’s pretty steep, don’t you think?”
I walked up to them, nodding at the accessory. “Nice hairpin.”
The girl, Haru, turned to me with wide eyes. “Oh, aren’t you the S-class girl?”
I grinned. “Yeah. What’s up?”
“Did you see the guy in the corner? Everyone’s talking about him. Apparently, he made an instructor collapse instantly—without even moving.”
Another girl, Shina, leaned in. “He’s kinda handsome, don’t you think?”
Haru frowned. “What was his name again?”
I answered without hesitation. “Neila.”
Shina’s eyes gleamed. “Jaclyn, how’d you know that? Are you interested in him~?”
I quickly waved my hands. “I’m not! I’m not! I’m not into quiet guys, but…”
“But?” Haru smirked.
I sighed. “I want to be friends with everyone, so I’ll try talking to him.”
Shina giggled. “Good luck with that, Miss S-class. He doesn’t seem like the type to enjoy small talk.”
I walked over to Neila’s desk and leaned against it. “Hey. Remember me?”
He barely glanced at me. “What do you want?”
His voice was cold, his expression as lifeless as before. Those dark purple eyes… they hadn’t changed.
“I wanna be your friend,” I said.
A pause.
“…Sure.”
I blinked. “What? You accepted way faster than I expected.”
Neila sighed, rubbing his temples. “You seem like the type who wouldn’t give up. I’d rather not have you yapping in my ear all day.”
I grinned. “You’re pretty straightforward, huh?”
“And you’re pretty annoying, huh?”
I laughed. “You got me there.” I slid into the seat across from him, resting my chin in my hand. “So, Mr. Neila, what’s your power?”
