A chain rushed towards Athena, breaking through the ground, she managed to dodge the speeding spike by a hair.
Her eyes were calm and unnerving, she stared back at the chain that flew past her.
[He cannot stop that chain’s momentum easily, changing directions must be difficult for him, I should make use of this moment as much as I can]
Athena dashed forwards her sword repeatedly clashing against his pitch black flying blades, Tartarus’s heels lit up with a flame as he bursted forwards, his hands encased in a steel red gauntlet, with a red gem adorning it.
Tartarus for the first time engaged in close combat with an experienced combatant.
Athena’s sword thrusted forwards by pushing the hilt forwards, breaking through the air itself, Tartarus immediately took a step back.
Athena let go of the sword, pushing all of her energy towards her fingertip, launching the sword forwards like a projectile.
The blade sliced through his neck, Athena dashed forwards, shoving her shield into his dismembered neck, stopping him from regaining the rest of his body.
She immediately held her fists together as she rapidly pummeled Tartarus’s face, gold ichor splattered all over the floor.
“Die, die, die”.
Athena’s eyes pierced into Tartarus, she left his face in a complete mess as his dismembered head twitched.
[Ning Xin’s personality is really troublesome]
Blacks flying shards shot towards Athena like birds flying towards her one at a time, grazing her skin, her neck began to drip her ichor.
“Shit”.
She snapped her fingers as shields surrounded around her yet the blades pierced through them like it was paper.
“This feels like I’m fighting Akane again”.
The chains tightened around her legs as the flying blades shot towards Athena’s face.
A hand caught it before the shard hit her face, as a figure carried Athena in his arms, his face was blocked out by the shining sun as the fire crackled around him.
His eyes glowed gold as he stood up, he lifted his hair up and took off his glasses, he wore a tan trench coat that extended to his knees, he had a toned jawline and sharp nose, he could only be described with one word.
[Beautiful]
“Well, my dear damsel you can go ahead and escape from here”.
He spoke in a serenading manner.
Athena said as she calmly stared at the man before.
“Get your bitchass hands off me, Shinji”.
Shinji’s eyes lit up as he stared into her.
“Have we met before”?
“I’m Athena, I just recently got a new body, and where the hell have you been”?
“Whoever he is, he has been sending monsters directly towards me, he was like preventing me from entering the battlefield”. Shinji smiled. “I didn’t know your new body came with such a fiery temper too”.
Athena’s face showed an expression of annoyance as she pushed Shinji towards the battlefield.
“Stop trying to flirt with me, the body I’m inhabiting is in high school and go already, we just need you to stall him out”.
“Don’t worry about that, the Hero is stalling him out so how do we beat this guy”?
Athena wiped the sweat off her head.
“I doubt that completely erasing him in one shot would work, you’d probably need to vaporize every single atom, you’d need to sever his connection with the souls of the underworld”.
“Hold on, hold on, you want me to control souls? Even if I look into my arsenal of powers, I don’t have a single one that can control souls”.
Jaclyn came rushing in, her large broadsword was swung around like a stick as she blocked every single flying blade with efficiency.
The broadsword began to glow gold as she closed in on the distance between her and Tartarus.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
“Let’s finish this quick shall we? I have other places to go to”.
Jaclyn smiled, she stepped on his foot, pinning him to the ground as a golden bow of light appeared within her hands, firing point blank into Tartarus’s face.
His knees collapsed as his face exploded into ichor.
A golden chain approached from behind her at extremely fast speeds, but she managed to catch it with her bare hands.
Her hands scraping against the steel chains as the steel began to draw blood.
She couldn’t hold it in place as it flew past her, scraping against her cheek.
“I can’t heal this, these chains attack the soul, it looks like my regeneration doesn’t work when fighting you, Eros give me your help”.
Jaclyn’s eyes glowed a godly blue as she pulled back the bow once more, its tip glowed a pink.
She let the string go as the arrow of light flew towards Tartarus.
Eros, the God of love and sex, more famously known as Cupid, has quite an unclear backstory, records say that he was a primordial God while others say that he was birthed by Aphrodite and Hermes.
With direct contact from the user or any of the user’s weapons, he had the ability to control other’s love, an effect that once hits the opponent would surely put them down.
But due to limitations, her range for this effect can only be used when the user is either 111 meters or 111 feet away from the target.
Tartarus managed to dodge the arrow by a hair as he clenched his fists, his gauntlets clanked against each other.
He gripped his own chain, spinning it around as if it were a whip, black shards surrounded him floating around in a ring shaped pattern.
Jaclyn immediately jumped backwards creating distance between them as she lifted her broadsword up into the air, her broadsword began to grow rapidly in size until it reached the size of a building with the weight of a mountain at her fingertips.
Her arms began to wobble as she slammed it down onto Tartarus will all she had.
A golden chain pierced through the steel as Tartarus came out the other side as he stepped on the enlarged broadsword.
“Ultimate Move, Olympus’s Love”.
Jaclyn waved her hand as the entire area was encased in a sky, far from any kind of ground, it seems as if they were floating in the clouds.
“I can’t move”.
Tartarus gritted his teeth as not even a single finger of his wanted to move like he was frozen in place.
When the user has opened the ultimate dimension, a person who the user has deemed an opponent will be stunned for approximately 10 seconds.
Jaclyn ran backwards, exactly 111 feet away from Tartarus as she charged up her bow, the arrow glowed with a pink energy, as it engulfed the entire sky with a heavenly energy as she let it go.
The arrow was blocked by a fast moving chain that rushed in like a shark approaching its prey, taking the hit for Tartarus.
Once the ability has started, the user gains a 50% buff in strength for every kill and gains a life steal buff, absorbing 25% of all damage dealt.
Once the user has 12 kills or more within the ultimate ability, user is able to temporarily transform into a God Of Love which fills all nearby opponents with affection towards the user and buffs allies’ movement speed by 200%. The God Of Love state also allows the user to gain the ability to control Light.
An ultimate that does best when she is being jumped by multiple people. Yet she uses it on a single person just for the stun effect it applies at the beginning of the ultimate.
“You’re not getting away from me this time”.
Jaclyn fired another arrow right before the stun effect ended, this time the arrow curved around the chain, piercing directly into his arm.
Tartarus’s eyes immediately became red as his hormones began to rapidly increase.
Yet he made the fast decision to cut his own arm off before it spread too far, his missing arm began to regenerate once more.
“You all keep targeting my arms, do you not have any other place”?
The golden chain quickly pushed forwards towards Jaclyn before it stopped right before it hit her face.
Tartarus grabbed his own arms, as sweat dripped down his head.
“Why can’t I attack you? What have you done to me”!?
Jaclyn softly smiled.
“It took effect, my arrow, it pierced you”.
The ultimate dimension cracked and shattered as they returned to the real world.
Tartarus stumbled backwards onto the ground as Jaclyn dashed forwards, a broadsword appeared in her hands as she thrusted her sword forwards, Tartarus caught the blade with his bare hands and quickly disarmed her with his bare hands.
Jaclyn stared at her own hands, Tartarus didn’t even damage her yet he managed to disarm her using pure technique.
[How in the world]?
A black hand appeared from beneath them, the large creature swimming through the ground as if it were water.
The large black creature resurfaced, its red eyes stared into Tartarus, its long lanky arms waving around like wrecking balls.
Jaclyn immediately took a step backwards as Asami ran up from behind her, Asami was sweaty and tired from the heat as she rapidly inhaled and exhaled.
“Asami, what in the world is that”?
Asami tried to speak but she couldn’t even speak properly. “That’s my summon, don’t attack it”.
The angel swung its arms like wrecking balls, Tartarus was far weaker than the angel yet he was managing to hold on.
A variety of flying blades flew towards the angel yet they were immediately cancelled out. But the chain flew through the angel’s chest as a dark liquid seeped out of the holy angel’s chest dripping down onto the ground.
Tartarus stared at the being in front of him as the angel recollected itself, the hole in its body did not heal yet he was moving perfectly fine, it lunged itself towards Tartarus.
“You puppet”!
The angel grabbed Tartarus by his face slamming him onto the floor, as the chains held him down onto the ground, stopping the angel’s ferocious movements.
Tartarus stood back up, bloody and golden with his own ichor.
The angel was stronger than any God, its pure strength was enough to overpower any kind of being, but it only fights upon pure instinct like an animal.
The angel was held up by hundreds of layers of golden chains, something that even it cannot break.
Tartarus breathed heavily, as he pressed his own body weight against a wall.
“Hey woman”. He pointed towards Asami as saliva dripped out of his mouth, his body was overworked and tired. “You remember what I said about helping with Erebus? I surrender”.
Tartarus lifted his hands up as he got on his knees and calmly stared at Jaclyn and Asami.
Tartarus sighed.
“I’d rather spend more time in this human body than go back down there, if you don’t trust me then we can make a Divine Contract”.
Asami’s eyes squinted as he stared at the God at her feet.
“What even is a Divine Contract”?
Neila walked in, dried blood surrounded his lips as he waddled in, leaning against the wall.
The fiery environment began to subside, the flames began to extinguish and the environment began to become colder.
Neila spoke with a damaged throat.
“A Divine Contract is a contract obviously, you have to follow its rules no matter what, that was what Kronos used to take over my body”.
Asami stretched her arms and wiped the sweat off her forehead as she stared back at Tartarus.
“Okay, let’s create a contract, you help us with defeating Erebus, you do not get to attack any humans that don’t attack you first, you are not allowed to kill any humans, if you break any of these rules you will get your soul taken away by Shinji”.
Tartarus sighed.
“That’s a lot of rules, fine I accept”.
His voice echoed as a golden piece of paper appeared in front of his face.
The contract was set in stone.
Nerissa ran towards Tartarus with rage in his eyes, he clenched his only arm.
“I’m GONNA KILL YOU”!!
Jaclyn immediately held Nerissa before he attacked Tartarus stopping him, her hands wrapped around his waist pinning him in place.
Jaclyn spoke in his ear.
“Calm down, he’s on our team now, he’ll help us with Erebus”.
“HE KILLED MY BROTHER DAMN IT”!!
