Waking up under a wagon was new to Adam. Waking up sore was becoming his new friend; at least they gave him a sheet to sleep on and a blanket to cover up with. The camp was begging to raise and break camp, and he was in the way. "Come on, son, let's get you up and break your fast so we can get going; this convoy ain't gonna get itself to the next village.” Said that man who had welcomed me last night. I still didn't get his name or anyone for that matter. All last night's excitement made us forget to ask now anyway.
After some break and an apple, he wondered why there was a wagon convoy and not just keeping everything in their inventory, so he asked. "Why is there a need for wagons? Why not store them in your inventory?" That got a snort from the old man. "This must be your first time out of your home, right? One of the rich kids or nobles doesn't matter much to me; after you helped our Emma, you could be a noble, and I'd still be nice to ya. Well, inventory is for uncommon classes and up. Common classes, or Commoners, as they like to call us, either have to do it this way or buy a storage device. Let's face it, I'd likely marry my Emma to a farmer brat before likely getting my hands on one of them."
Adam was shocked. He thought it was familiar. "Oh, Um, sorry, didn't mean anything by asking.”
The old man looks at Adam for a long minute and snorts again. “You know something, I believe you. Then, he sticks out his hand and introduces himself. My name is Travis Trader. As you can tell by the name, I have the common class Trader.” Adam grabs the hand that was offered and says, im Adam, umm… Herbalist? Im a herbalist.” Not saying anything else, he asks, “So when are we due at the village?” The old man looks at the sky and says, “A little after lunchtime, and you're going to ride in my wagon; let's go.”
Riding in the wagon was an eye-opening experience. Knowing he was put onto this planet to help heal and be an herbalist, he was really wishing he was an engineer right now. Shocks need to be invented badly.
Adam was scanning around for herbs when he saw movement, so he tried to inspect, but all he got in return was.

System Comment. Run.
A System comment was new, but he put it out of his mind for now and yelled, “Wolf, I can’t inspect it.” That sent a panic rippling through the convoy. They closed in and came to a stop. Men got out with whatever weapons they could, and one woman had a bow with an arrow nocked. But it was for naught. The wolf, hearing my shout as well, leaped onto a man, ripping his throat out and moving to the next man. Adam jumped out of the wagon and, towards the man with his throat gushing, pulled out his healing salve and applied it to the wound. He inspected the man, thinking it would provide any information.

He looked around, and two more men and a child were on the ground. Not realizing what he was doing, he drew his harvesting tool and yelled manically. The wolf, whose jaw was about to clamp down on a child, looked at him and charged. Out of reflex, he dropped to the ground and held the harvesting tool out. The wolf ran into it, and they collided. The next thing Adam sees is people surrounding him, pulling the massive wolf off him, and system notifications.
Thank you. A young mother grabbed and shook my whole arm. He didn't know what to say, so he turned and started making healing salves for the injured. While creating them, he checked the system notifications.

He began treating anyone his first air pulled him towards while everyone not injured cleaned up. One man tried to skin the wolf but couldn't, so 5 men loaded it on a wagon with the dead bodies. We started traveling toward the village, more vigilant and somber than before. It was almost evening when we made it. A weathered wooden palisade encircled the settlement, with a single gate made of heavy oak. A single guard stood outside. When we got closer, he made eye contact with each person. When he made it to Adam, he felt a tingle on the back of his neck, and he watched the guard go pale and then run into the village confused. They all waited at the gate for around 10 minutes. A group of men, most armed but one in noticeable nicer clothes, approached us. When each looked Adam's way, he felt a tingle on his neck, and each one got more worried. They made it to the wagon when the nicely dressed man bowed towards Adam and spoke. “Good evening, my lord. May I ask why you have graced us with your presence and what we can do to assist you?”
Adam, now even more confused, looked around. Maybe he was talking to someone else, realizing they were speaking to him, and everyone else took his silence as bad and started to bow, too. He spoke quickly, “Im not lord. My name is Adam Herbalist. Im just here. To rest and see if I can earn some money by providing herbalist services and maybe healing people if needed.”
The man looked to relax some before raising his voice and speaking again, still respectfully: “Of course, for… Adam, you may stay with me and may do as you please in the village. I and the Guild leader here will show you the way and have supper with you.” Adam followed, excited at the chance for a hot meal and an actual bed, no matter what kind of conversation might come with it.
