15. Unexplainable

  The room was cold.

  Metal walls.

  Dim purple lighting.

A single floating holographic recorder hovered above.

Two figures sat at the interrogation table.

  One was Sattira Dyn.

  Back straight.

  Arms crossed.

  Jaw tight.

  Eyes burning with frustration.

  The other—

  Asheer Veyin.

  Captain of Arcaneaum Enforcement.

  A fairy of precision.

Every word she spoke was measured.

  Every movement calculated.

Her icy stare locked onto Dyn.

Asheer Veyin (calm, precise, piercing gaze):

"Sattira Dyn. Do you know why you're here?"

  Dyn (flat, arms crossed, unimpressed):

"I don’t know, Asheer. Maybe because I lost a fugitive in broad daylight and now every single realm is screaming her name?"

  Veyin didn’t react.

  Didn’t flinch.

  She simply tapped her Prodge.

  A holographic projection appeared.

The news headlines flooded the air.

  ? FIESA: THE RUNAWAY VYSHEK.

  ? SATTIRA LET HER ESCAPE.

? DARKNESS HIDES AMONG US – WHERE IS FIESA?

  ? A LIGHT-BLESSED BECAME A VYSHEK? IMPOSSIBLE.

The last one hit Dyn the hardest.

  Her fist clenched.

Asheer Veyin (leaning forward, sharp, slow words):

"Explain to me, Dyn. How a normal, kind, promising bych suddenly turned into a Vyshek—right in front of your eyes?"

  Dyn exhaled sharply.

Her nails dug into her palm.

  Her mind raced.

How the stars was she supposed to explain this?

How was she supposed to put into words what she saw?

Dyn (leaning forward, voice rising, frustrated):

  "I don’t know! Alright? I don’t know!"

  Veyin remained still.

  Watching her.

  Waiting.

Dyn (pushing her hair back, voice dripping with irritation):

"You want me to tell you that a Vyshek infiltrated the school? Fine. Easy. That’s what we all thought.

But what do I say when I tell you that I saw Elysia standing in front of me,

and then in the next moment,

her body changed, her voice changed, her whole presence changed—

  and she wasn’t her anymore?!"

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

Veyin (calm, unwavering, voice cold as ice):

"Are you saying the Vyshek was inside her?"

  Dyn laughed bitterly.

  Shook her head.

Sat back in her chair, hands gripping the sides.

Dyn (sarcastic, biting, full of anger):

"Oh yes, Asheer. That’s exactly what I’m saying. That a normal fairy suddenly had a Vyshek hiding in her soul. That she transformed in front of my eyes.

And that, apparently, I’m the only one in the history of the realms to witness something like this.

Because that’s just what I needed in my career. To sound completely insane."

  Her breathing was heavy.

  Her chest rising and falling.

  Veyin remained emotionless.

  Then—

  She swiped her Prodge.

  A new holographic display appeared.

It was security footage from Elysia’s room.

  Dyn watched herself interrogate Elysia.

  The calm demeanor.

  The mocking words.

  Then—

  The transformation.

  Elysia’s body shifted.

  Her tunic darkened.

  Her presence changed.

  She was no longer Elysia.

  She was Fiesa.

  A completely different being.

  Yet—

  Still her.

Asheer Veyin (folding her hands, voice sharp as a blade):

"This is impossible. No fairy can have a second consciousness. No fairy can become a Vyshek without being corrupted."

Dyn (deadpan, voice laced with exhaustion):

  "Oh. You don’t say."

  Veyin ignored the sarcasm.

  Her gaze piercing through Dyn.

Asheer Veyin (cold, calculating, final judgment):

"Do you think she was hiding it? That she knew what she was?"

  Dyn exhaled.

Her anger simmering beneath the surface.

  She thought back.

  To Elysia’s eyes.

  The way she froze.

  The way she fought herself.

The **way she called out to something—someone—**inside her.

  And then—

The way Fiesa looked at her.

  Deadly. Cold. Protective.

  Dyn (serious, slow, final words):

  "I think she didn’t know.

And that’s what scares me the most."

  Veyin’s expression didn’t change.

  She simply stood up.

Took one last look at Dyn.

  And walked out.

  Leaving Dyn alone.

  With the unexplainable.

  With the impossible.

  With the truth—

That no one else in the realms could understand.

The school was not the same.

  Not after what happened.

Not after her name became something cursed.

  Elysia.

The brightest bych of Arcane magic.

  The one who had promise.

  The one who was admired.

  The one who was loved.

  Now—

  She was a fugitive.

  A criminal.

  A murderer.

  A betrayer.

  A dark entity.

  Not Elysia.

  Fiesa.

But the world didn’t see the difference.

  They only saw one face.

And that’s what they were going to believe.

  The hallways were always alive.

  Always buzzing with voices.

  Laughter. Gossip. Energy.

  But now—

  Whenever Elysia’s name was mentioned,

  The voices lowered.

  The laughter stopped.

  The air turned colder.

"Did you see the new footage? They’re still looking for her."

"She could be anywhere. What if she comes back?"

"That wasn’t Elysia. That was… something else."

"Oh, come on! Face it—she’s gone dark. You saw her. That was Elysia."

"No—maybe she was possessed? Or cursed? Maybe…"

"Doesn’t matter. She killed Livia and Trigaha. She stole the Book of Shrishgic.

She fought against the Sattira. What does that make her?"

  Silence.

  Then—

  A quiet voice.

  One word.

  One label.

One truth the realms chose to believe.

  "A Vyshek."

And just like that, the voices faded.

  They moved on.

  Their conversations changed.

  Their focus shifted.

  But the shadow remained.

  A ghost in the air.

  Elysia’s name.

  Her face.

  Her legacy.

  Now stained forever.

Everywhere in the school, holographic news panels floated.

  The headlines were never-ending.

? FUGITIVE ON THE RUN – FIESA STILL MISSING.

? MURDERER, THIEF, TRAITOR – THE FALL OF ELYSIA.

? IS SHE A VYSHEK? EXPERTS DEBATE.

? 10 REALMS IN PURSUIT – NO SIGN OF THE CRIMINAL YET.

  Her face was everywhere.

Her crime was burned into history.

And no matter what the truth was—

No matter how wrong they were—

No matter that Elysia and Fiesa were not the same—

  The world had already decided.

  They had already chosen.

Elysia was not a bright bych anymore.

  She was a criminal.

  And nothing would change that.
