Prologue: Why Am I a Broke Villager in This Bugged Rom-Com?!

I knew something was wrong the moment I opened my eyes.

For one, I was lying on a dirt floor in some medieval-looking shack, which was a pretty big red flag. Two, there was a status window floating in front of me with the words "Welcome to Eternal Love Fantasia!!" written in pink sparkly letters. And three… I had exactly 0 gold.

  "Wait. WAIT. HOLD ON. Isekai?!"

I scrambled to my feet, hitting my head on the low wooden ceiling. "ARGH!" Rubbing my forehead, I squinted at the status window again.

  [Job: Unemployed]

  [Gold: 0]

  "...you gotta be kidding me."

This, this was a joke right? Out of all the games I could've gotten isekai'd into… why did it have to be Eternal Love Fantasia?! A trashy romance sim known for its ridiculous amount of bugs, cringe-inducing dialogue, and absurd romance events that made no sense.

Not only that. But I wasn't the protagonist. I wasn't even a side character. I was a background NPC. A broke one.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

  "HAHAHAHA… this is hell."

I stepped outside my shack (calling it a house would be an insult to houses) and was immediately greeted by a beautiful fantasy town. Stone-paved roads, charming medieval buildings, cute market stalls selling bread that I couldn't afford. And, of course—

A group of girls running dramatically down the street, all shouting the name of the game's protagonist.

  "KYAAA~!! HARUTO-SAMA~!"

  "PLEASE MARRY ME!"

  "FIGHT ME FIRST!"

...Oh. Right. This world was a harem rom-com.

And then. As if to mock me further.

  A game notification popped up.

[Main Story Route has started! The Hero, Haruto, is destined to become the strongest warrior and win the hearts of many heroines!]

  [You are not Haruto.]

  I wanted to scream.

Instead. I turned around. Walked back into my shack. And closed the door.

  "Not my problem."

But little did I know. This bugged, cursed rom-com world had plans for me. And it wasn’t gonna let me off that easy.
