Interlude: Maps and Timetable - The Unforgettables: A ZeroYear litRPG
Below is a timetable divided into chapters. The journey depicted in this table starts at the ruins of the North Gate of Old Metropolis, which is utterly abandoned. From here, Silas and Liora depart for Citta Paradiso. Chapter 1 begins in Paradiso at the end of the Metropolis-Paradiso trip.
Timetable.
This table also shows the (real) publication date of each chapter and the "adventure" days that passed during each chapter. These serve as a basis for Silas's projects, some of the character's skills, and Frank and Petra's learning of spells.
This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
The table also includes the main setting where each chapter's action takes place and the amount of XP/Milestones that indicate the group's power level. Also on that table are the amount of space covered, the average speed during each chapter, and finally, the expected time the group has before the Golems reach them if they stop moving, and assuming that entering and exiting Petra's portals does not interfere with this estimation.
Maps.
Following is a preliminary map of the entire route taken by the group, with annotations of the names of the main points and their geographical positioning. The map has a scale and includes only a few elements.
This map represents all the settings the group has passed through and includes some references. The meridian line is an approximation of the Tempus Route; to the South, it passes between the Metropolis and the Academy, supposedly ending at the entrance to the Underworld near the South Pole, and to the North end, it should reach the Tempus Forge. As far as the group knows, Seneca should be somewhere along the northern part of this route.
This map is already the updated version by Vaud and Mosh. Many of the distances and positions were expanded after the "Big Bang," compared with the previous versions they had from Metropolis. The streaks in the lower part of this map are the monolithic veins, where people can supposedly travel via Aeroliths, as well as the large North vein that passes through Rocatrista and ends in Northern Valley.
When Petra opened her "hot" portal in the Heat Cliffs, the leftmost part of the place, which is roughly North of King's Mountain, was the ravine where the portal magic was performed. The entire area to the left represents the effect of molten metal, creating a lake of thermal waters and a sea of hot hills resulting from the molten metal covering the snow and the mountains of the region. As the metal would remain hot for millennia, the region was altered, providing heat, a reddish light from the points where the melted metal still concentrates, and a vast boiling water lake that ended near the mountain hole where the fiery serpent emerged.
The Cernutos Tower indicates the entire region of mountains and winding monolithic veins around it, from which the spider trapped the party at the end part of volume one. It also includes some of the remnant structural veins beneath the tower, which Chester briefly mentioned when Frank met him in Rocatrista.
EXTRA: Brainstorm.
In response to a request, I will complement the support material with some raw material. I am including here the two pages of the creative brainstorming process. In this sketch, we have the same previous map on a scale expanded by five times. The exact points where each chapter's action takes place were noted on this map, and many elements are organized with some logic. Er... I apologize for the handwriting and any eventual mistakes, given that I wrote them down in a rush while listening to the music references.
Part 1
Part 2
In this brainstorm, in addition to other elements, we have:
Names without quotes are the names of the places the group has passed through.
Regular numbers followed by a dot to the right indicate the chapters, from 1 to 30.
Phrases within quotes are citations from the lyrics of songs that the group listened to during their journey. The lyrics could be heard breaking the silence of Gate. The lyrics refer to an event that happened to the group in that area or relate to something happening in the same timeline. Most of those lines are also used as references in the chapter′s text and title.
Names in parentheses with a number in the ancestral language nearby refer to the 9 battles the group had during their journey. The exception is Frank's name in parentheses, which has an 'x' and '14' beside it, referring to chapter 14. These markers represent the points where Frank randomly ended up while testing his communication magic before finally reaching Tommy's bar in Rocatrista.
The Cernutos Tower isn't marked on these brainstorming maps; however, there's an arrow pointing toward the direction and distance of where the tower would be located at the top of the second page.
QUEST: Volume 1 contains 36 primary references, mostly to songs. Most of them are present on these two brainstorming sheets. Amidst the chaos presented here, it's possible to find some of them, but not all.
