File#31: All out battle against Chaos and Darkness itself [Godslaying Saga]- Paradise Lost (2/20)

"I should have sent that priest far away. Should give us some time."

I quickly ran to Li, Maria still busy closing off the injuries of Marth.

"Madonna, you should really do something for that cat, my fire can't fix that."

She gave a look to Aria, who immediately understood.

She quickly ran to Caith Sith, checking his pulse.

"I can feel it's heart, we have to do something quick."

"Fine, if I have no choice", said Jessica as her cross moved from her thigh to her golden eyes.

  "Id state."

A silver colored needle appeared in her hands. Even though that object was thin, it was pretty big.

With a single stab of this pretty needle, the cat wounds closed up.

Immediately after, Jessica directed herself to Allison.

  "Jessi... ca?"

The words were struggling to come out of Allison's mouth, the mere act of talking making her cough blood.

  "Why... are you here?"

"You should stop talking, you're only making things worse for you."

"Why... do... you... have that cross too?"

"If you have one too, it should be obvious why."

Allison looked around, using the energy she had left in her.

This was when it happened, a vision that shook her to her very core. Quickly running to my side.

"(That's weird, I didn't even use my needle on her and her wounds closed. This isn't normal. Those injuries were inflicted by another apostle, they shouldn't just heal like that.)"

As she ran towards us, screaming her heart out, I exchanged some words with Li.

"Been a while, old pal. I thought I would have never seen you again."

"Stop saying stupid things, you should conserve your energy. Juanary will heal you with her weird Apostle stuff."

"Didn't you try to kill her? That's rich. So that girl became an apostle, huh?"

She looked behind her, the very woman she feared standing alongside us.

"What is she even doing here?"

"I ask myself the same question everyday, you know."

Suddenly, as if it actually just dawned on her, she touched her chest, blood on her hand after she did so.

  "I guess this is it..."

"Don't say stuff like that, I told you, January is gonna heal you."

Unfortunately, she had been too te, a tall figure standing behind me, the dark karmic energy exuding from it enveloping the whole area.

"Crap, this is bad. If that girl can really do that, she should move here quick."

The sheer energy I felt behind me pushed me away from Li, forced to realise what was causing it to happen.

  "Allison?"

Jessica came to our aid, stabbing Li with her needle, fixing her injuries.

"Look, Allison, I'm fine, don't let it get to you."

As the energy continued to grow, a voice talked to all of us. We all recognised it as the priest voice.

"One of them is descending upon us. Unfortunately, as much as I would have loved to grab the half witch's head, this isn't something that a mortal, even myself could deal with."

"Where Melissi, she needs to be here too if we want even more chances to calm her down."

I looked around, trying to see where she was. She had completely vanished from the scene.

  "Where is she?"

"I get it, she must have left with that priest... I thought I knew everything about her already but maybe that's wrong."

  "I suppose that's true..."

  "So you knew..."

"Well, she was the one who stopped me when I almost lost myself."

  "So it was her..."

"Anyway, I get the fact Allison is an apostle, I mean her eyes litteraly have that weird cross right now but what's the deal with this?"

"A very vile god is using her as a puppet. You may not believe me right now but she's the one responsible for the state the world is in right now. Among apostles, she represent the aspect of disasters."

"Hm? That's weird, I'm pretty sure your mom told me to not let you approach that person."

  "Huh, why?"

"She didn't expin further than this. More importantly, that still doesn't expin why she's going crazy right now."

"Apophys most likely needed someone unstable to amplify his disaster manifestation abilities. From what I heard from Mom, the more an apostle embodies the aspect of the god they serve, the more the dominion of the god over the apostle gets stronger. Even though what that god grants her is the ability to manifest the idea of "disasters" into the world, it's not the only thing it embodies."

"Could you make it more simple?*

"The more she plunges into despair, the more chances that god can manifest into the physical world. Even though you were trying to reason with her, she lost it when she learned about Melissi and what happened to us retive to that priest."

"She seemed pretty normal a moment ago."

"That's because I'm most likely the center of bance that prevents her from going insane."

  "Why?"

  Li smiled.

"Because to me, she's my best friend. Even though she would never say it, it's most likely the same for her."

  Best friends, huh?

The whole sky turned bck, covering the clouds and the afternoon sun. A shadow emerged from Allison's body, separating itself from her.

The amount of pressure we all felt from that thing energy was unparalleled. It was so strong that it started to cause an earthquake.

  "What the hell is that?"

The shadow threw Allison at us, before assuming a humanoid form. Even though the shape resembled a human, it was only a silhouette, a singur red eye appearing in what was supposed to be it's face.

"This is bad", were Li's only words.
