Born to Be Broken

Rage of Fury – Ep 1: The Boy with No Power

The night sky stretched endlessly above the city of Arcadia, stars gleaming like distant flames in the void. The Academy of Mystics loomed in the distance, its towering spires piercing the heavens. Inside its prestigious halls, the future rulers of magic honed their powers—except for one.

Fury sat alone on the rooftop of the dormitory, his katana resting across his lap. The cold wind howled around him, but he barely noticed. Below, students laughed and practiced their spells, each wielding incredible magic—fire, lightning, telekinesis. He clenched his fists. He had none of that.

A voice snapped him out of his thoughts. “Brooding again?”

Fury turned to see his only friend, Leon, leaning against the railing. “You’ve been up here every night.”

Fury smirked. “Maybe I like the view.”

“Or maybe you’re avoiding getting your ass kicked again,” Leon said with a chuckle, sitting beside him.

Fury exhaled sharply. “They’re not wrong. I have no magic. My ‘Extract’ skill is useless. And this—” he tapped the katana, “—is a joke in a world ruled by magic.”

Leon frowned. “That’s not true. You trained harder than anyone here. Your swordsmanship is insane.”

Fury’s smirk faded. “It’s not enough.”

Before Leon could respond, a voice echoed from below. “Well, well, look who’s hiding up here!”

A group of students had gathered in the courtyard, led by Drake, a top-ranked fire mage. He grinned up at Fury. “Come down here, Magicless! Let’s see if that useless skill of yours can do anything.”

  Leon tensed. “Ignore them.”

Fury stood, gripping his katana. “No. Let’s see what they’ve got.”

The two of them jumped down, landing in the courtyard. The crowd parted, whispering excitedly. Drake cracked his knuckles, flames igniting around his hands. “One hit and you’re out, Magicless.”

Fury didn’t respond. He simply raised his sword.

Drake launched forward, hurling a fireball. Fury sidestepped, closing the gap in an instant. His katana slashed forward—only for Drake to vanish in a burst of flames, reappearing behind him.

“Too slow!” Drake sneered, slamming a fiery fist into Fury’s back. The force sent him skidding across the ground, pain exploding in his ribs.

Laughter erupted from the onlookers. “Pathetic!” someone shouted.

Fury coughed, struggling to stand. His vision blurred. Am I really this weak?

Drake walked toward him, raising his hand for another strike—but before he could attack, the ground beneath Fury glowed.

A swirling portal appeared beneath him.

“What the hell?!” Drake stumbled back.

Fury’s eyes widened as the world around him tilted. The last thing he saw was Leon reaching out, shouting his name.

  Then everything went white.

Fury gasped as he landed hard on solid ground. He scrambled to his feet, his heart pounding. He was no longer in the academy. The world around him was pure white—an endless void stretching in all directions.

“No sky. No ground. No way out…” His breath quickened. “Wait… I know this place.”

  His blood ran cold.

This was the Training Realm—an urban legend. A place where time moved at an unimaginable speed. One second in the real world was ten trillion years here. And worst of all—there was no escape.

  A growl echoed behind him.

  Fury spun around.

A monstrous creature emerged from the void, its crimson eyes locked onto him. A demon. The first of many.

He tightened his grip on his katana.

I may not have magic… but I won’t die here.

**Episode 2 – The Training Realm**

Fury's vision blurred as he plummeted into an endless white void. His body felt weightless, his stomach lurching with the sensation of free fall. Above him, the faint echoes of his friend's screams faded into silence as the portal swallowed him whole.

  Then—impact.

A force slammed him onto an invisible surface. Pain shot through his limbs, but the ground beneath him was… nothing. There was no sky, no land. Just a never-ending white abyss stretching infinitely in all directions.

His breath came in ragged gasps as he gripped the hilt of his katana. His heart pounded like a war drum.

"Where am I?! What the hell is this?!" Fury's voice was swallowed by the void, his own words sounding distant, meaningless.

Panic clawed at his mind, but then a memory surfaced. The whispers. The legend.

"No… It can't be." His voice trembled. "The Training Realm?!"

It was a name spoken in hushed tones, a place of nightmares. A world where time twisted, where escape was a distant dream. One second in the real world was said to be ten trillion years in the Training Realm. And once inside, there was no way out.

  A growl shattered the silence.

Fury's body tensed. From the abyss, something emerged. A creature, its twisted form barely resembling anything human, crawled out of the void. Its sickly yellow eyes locked onto him, hungry and primal. The first demon.

  ---

  The demon lunged.

Fury barely dodged, rolling across the unseen floor. He gritted his teeth, gripping his katana. His hands shook. This wasn’t a sparring match. This wasn’t training.

"Damn it! Think, Fury! You've trained for this!"

The demon attacked again. His body moved on instinct, blade flashing—

  **SLASH!**

The katana tore through flesh. The demon shrieked, collapsing. Fury stumbled back, chest heaving. His heartbeat pounded in his ears.

Then the body began to dissolve, breaking into shimmering particles of energy. A strange sensation washed over him. Something inside him shifted.

A message burned into his mind.

  **New Skill Acquired: Telekinesis.**

His breath caught. He lifted a hand, reaching towards his fallen katana. It lifted from the ground, floating toward him before landing smoothly in his grip.

Realization struck. **Extract** didn’t just take life.

  It stole power.

Fury's lips curled into a slow grin, red eyes burning with new determination.

"So that’s how it works... Alright. Let’s see how deep this hell goes."

He turned, stepping further into the abyss. More growls echoed in the distance. He rolled his shoulders, katana at the ready.

  "Come on, then. Let’s play."
