Chapter 1: Awakening

The first light of dawn bathed Mycetum Base in a soft golden hue. The fortress-like settlement, surrounded by towering wooden walls reinforced with spore-infused stones, stood as a bulwark against the relentless tides of Fierce Beasts. Beyond the walls, the vast wilderness stretched endlessly, filled with unseen dangers lurking in the mist.

Inside the heart of the base, in the grand estate belonging to the Veneficus Mycetum family, a young girl stirred beneath silk covers.

  Today was the day.

Lindar opened her eyes, her heartbeat quickening with excitement. At almost six years old, she would undergo the most defining moment of her life—her Martial Spirit Awakening.

She threw aside the covers and slipped out of bed, her feet tapping against the cold wooden floor. A soft glow of bioluminescent fungi growing in the corners of the room cast a dreamy light over her surroundings.

Today, she would learn what kind of soul master she was meant to be.

As Lindar dressed in a white training robe embroidered with silver mushroom patterns, she thought of her parents—two powerful soul masters who had shaped her destiny before she was even born.

Her father, Lord Bradon Veneficus Mycetum, was a Control Attack-Type Soul Master, wielding the power of the Poisonous Mushroom Martial Spirit. His presence was as commanding as the walls of Mycetum Base, his every movement exuding authority.

Her mother, Knight Banitar Nitiditas Mycetum, was a Support-Type Soul Master, possessing the Fluorescence Mushroom Martial Spirit—a beacon of healing and guidance in battle.

Together, they were pilrs of strength, protecting the people within their territory from the endless Beast Tides.

Would she live up to their legacy?

She clenched her fists, determination fring in her chest.

The Awakening Hall was a grand chamber filled with glowing spores that drifted zily in the air, illuminating the room in soft hues of blue and green. Several children from noble families stood in line, their faces filled with a mixture of nervousness and anticipation.

At the center of the hall, a Soul Awakener, an elderly man draped in robes of violet and gold, stood before a Spirit Stone Pilr pulsing with ethereal energy.

Lindar inhaled deeply, stepping forward when her name was called.

  This is it.

The Soul Awakener pced a glowing hand on her forehead, and immediately, a rush of energy surged through her veins. Her body trembled as warmth spread through her core, a strange force awakening deep inside her.

A soft blueish-pink glow emerged from her palms, swirling like a misty dream. A mushroom appeared—its cap shimmering with psychedelic colors, its aura pulsating hypnotically.

  The room fell silent.

  Lindar’s heart pounded.

"A mutated martial spirit," the Awakener murmured, his eyes gleaming with intrigue. "A Psychedelic Mushroom."

Her father’s eyes narrowed, analyzing the spirit's properties.

Her mother gasped softly before breaking into a smile. "Beautiful."

Lindar reached out to touch the floating mushroom. It felt... alive.

A strange sensation flooded her mind—whispers, illusions, distortions of reality.

She turned to her father and mother, seeking approval.

Lord Bradon spoke first, his deep voice measured. "Psychedelic abilities… hallucination, confusion, control. This is a Control Attack-Type spirit."Her mother nodded. "It aligns with your father’s path. A spirit capable of bending an enemy’s perception—truly formidable."Lindar’s fingers trembled. Control Attack-Type.Like her father.Like a warrior who seized the battlefield with a single thought. She yearned for that power. She raised her chin and met her father’s gaze. "I will follow your path, Father."Bradon’s lips curled into a rare smile. "Then we will train you accordingly."Banitar pced a hand on Lindar’s shoulder. "You will need your first soul ring. In this week's Beast Tide, you will participate in your first hunt."A shiver ran through Lindar’s spine. The Beast Tide. The relentless wave of Fierce Beasts that battered the human bases in endless cycles. And she was about to step onto that battlefield.Excitement, fear, and determination tangled inside her.She clenched her fists. She was ready.

The war against the beasts was her destiny.
