General History of the World of Orbis - 1st Millenia AE

The world of Orbis is generally divided into Five Eras of History and a single, long, and obscure Era of Prehistory. These Eras are:

  1. The Dark Era of Prehistory (Denominated as ‘BE’ or before the eras)

  2.
  3. The First Era, also called the Mythic Era which is the star of year 1 AE (After the Eras) which lasted until 1E3032

  4.
  5. The Second Era, also called the ‘Heroic Age’ or ‘The Age of Heroes’ Which lasted for 501 years from 3032 AE to 3533 AE

  6.
  7. The Third Era, also called the ‘First Age of Kings’ which lasted from 3533 AE to 4579 AE

  8.
  9. The Fourth Era, also called the ‘Imperial Era of Augustum’ which lasted from 4579 AE to 5194 AE

  10.
  11. And finally the Fifth Era, also called the ‘Second Age of Kings’ Which has lasted until the current year of 5664 AE.

  • The Dark Era

  •

During the 5000s BE to the 3000s BE

  • The many peoples of Orbis were still in the earliest stages of development throughout the world. Being hunter gatherers. Many among the peoples of this era also began to show promise with the manipulation of a force they did not know of (mana) to alter the very fabric of reality. Although this was still at a very early stage.

  •
  • The ancestors of the modern day Elves began to settle around the Aurian lands. A very fertile area, steeped in mana and resources. Many groups and tribes had begun to form larger and more cohesive groups for effective hunting and gathering.

  •
  • Other tribes of people began to coalesce in other areas as well. The tribes of man began to spread out again ( as there were already tribes of men in Terradome) from the Eastern continent of Euris to the other lands.

  •
  • The Beastfolk started appearing on the lands east to Auria. Some of them travelled even to the Eastern continent during the period of great freezing. Many scholars even posit that the beastfolk are native to Euris and some migrations happened the opposite way.

  •
  • Tribes of small-folk or dwarves make their home in the freezing northern lands.

  •

During the 3000s BE to the 1000s BE

  • The waves of nomad-living continue. Many sentient magical beings were reported to be spotted in the many lands outside of the tribes. Beings that still lack the sophistication of those we know today, such as the fae-folk.

  •
  • A majority of the tribes of sentient folk began to settle down in the fertile ( and sometimes not so fertile ) areas of Orbis more permanently, although there were still some peoples who chose to continue on with the nomadic or semi-nomadic lifestyle. The prominent areas of the nascent civilizations with a more pronounced societal structure were the Aurian Lands, the Lands of Huaxia (Northern Euris), the Devadesh peninsula, the Nahlian civilisations and the Old Hilalian Valley civilizations.

  •
  • The Aurian area was now home to dozens of City-states. The people living there had long realised their difference with the other folk. They were, taller, fairer, and much more in tune with mana than the other peoples and the fact that they are as long lived as to be able to live for up to a millenia and even beyond. The human tribes closest to them appeled to them the name 'Alf' or Elves. They called themselves the Meliomnes but would soon refer to themselves as the Aurigens.

  •
  • Alongside the Elves in the land of Auria lived various human tribes as well, many of whom came from the east lands, but a considerable number of them considered themselves native to Auria to around the same time as the elves, though this is disputed. Some say the humans there were the tainted blood of the elves, shunned and forced to breed among themselves, though this too is highly disputed. What is known to be sure is that soon around the end of the third millenium BE, the many human tribes had been subjugated and enslaved by the elves who called them the 'Inferi'. The men called themselves the Latins.

  •
  • The Dwarves (whom many scholars believe to have originated as either a germanic tribe or with clear influences from the Germanics) established several communities in the frigid northlands of Terradome, with some even crossing seas to the Northern mini-continent of Dwaria where they first made contact with the Jotnarr peoples, the giants. The Dwarves started out their societies in massive caves and cave systems to take shelter from the elements and the wild beasts and monsters.

  •
  • 7 main Elven states emerged in Auregenia as the most prominent of the many city-states fighting with each other for dominance. They were Magnia, Vitania, Senexia, Fabria, Novania, Amicadia, and Fortia.

  •
  • Dwarven physiology, being in tune with manas of darkness etc had very quickly adapted to prolonged tenebrous and subterranean living, retaining much of their strength and health without direct sunlight. The many cave communities had evolved into the very foundations of the great Dwarven underground cities as the discovery of sources of water and some open canyons for farming not to mention subterranean species of flora and fauna allowed for the Dwarves to flourish.

  •

  During the 800s BE

  • A war erupts between Magnia and Vitania over claims to the sacred Mana grove in Magia in 875 BE.

  •
  • in 855 BE, The Rex of Magnia, Dephilus Superius conquers Vitania and weds Astria Minora, the Queen of Vitania as a show of power and prestige as the Queens of Vitania have always been the High Priestess of the Mana Temple of Magia.

  •
  • in 801 BE Donum Caelus was born to Dephilus and Astria.

  •

  During the 600s BE

  • Mass raids by tribal forces from the Obscuran Lands (Germania or basically anywhere north of Auregen lands) started to grow more frequent. Most of the lands to the north belonged to either the Germanic peoples or the Gaolians. The tribal invaders had managed to decimate and occupy the cities of the Amicadians.

  •
  • In 602 BE, the Obscuran Wars had begun, and Donum Caelus accompanied his father and an Elven Coalition consisting of Magnia, Vitania, Novania, and Senexia to combat the Obscuran Invaders.

  •

  During the 500s BE

  • by the 590s BE, the coalition had managed to drive off most of the Obscuran invaders from the Northern Auregen Lands. A decisive battle was won at Senecolis hill. The war effectively ended when Donum Caelus managed to slay Agreik of the Draumazi, the Leader of the Obscurans. However, the battle came at a heavy cost in the death of Rex Dephilus Superius. Donum Caelus was named the new Rex of Magnia.

  •
  • Rifts appeared by the 570s between the Magnians and the scattered remnants of the Amicadii. The Amicadian nobles had expected for their lands to be returned and reinstated by the coalition, however Donum much preferred for it to be ruled directly and administered by Magnia. Donum quickly married an Amicadian Princess, the Lady Serenia Amadea, to secure his legitimacy. He made minor concessions to the other members of the coalition which left them dissatisfied yet prevented an all out war from happening.

  •

  During the 400s BE

  • Queen Astria of Vitania died of a sickness in 438 BE. In her will, it is said she bequeathed all her titles to her eldest son, Donum Caelus, however, this was disputed by Magnus Nobilis - Donum's younger brother - who was propped up by many Vitanians and other politicians from the other States to oppose his brother's succession in order to prevent a hegemony. Thus in 437 BE, so started the two decade-long Magna-Vitanian civil war.

  •
  • By 415 BE, both sides were spent, but Donum emerged the victor as he had besieged and captured his younger brother in his last fortress. He captured Magnus and made him to publicly renounce all claims from him and his descendants. Thusly Donum was confirmed as Rex of Vitania.

  •

  During the 300s BE

  • Magnia spent the vast majority of the 4th century recovering from its civil war, however it was clear for all to see that the other states were plotting to obfuscate and undermine Magnia's power and its control over Amicadia and Vitania. It was during these days that trouble started brewing. A coalition named 'the Occurian Pact' formed between Fabria, Novania, and Fortia to stand as a bulwark from what they percieved as Magnian expansionism. Senexia decided to stay neutral as their focus were still upon the intermitent raids by the Obscurans.

  •

  During the 200s BE

  • In 295 BE, a great comet was spotted over the skies of Magnia. Donum saw this as divine fortune and so he finally decided to commence his plans and start his wars to finally assert full control of Auregenia.

  •
  • in 290 BE, Donum sent an ultimatum letter to the rest of the Elven States and city states. Many minor realms had decided to join the new centralizing power and the response from the Ocurran pact was as expected. And so the Auregen Unification wars had commenced in earnest in 289 BE.

  •

During the 100s BE to 1 BE

  • The war was fought in 4 stages. The first stage was concetrated on open warfare between Magnia and the Pact in the Occuran War. The first war which ended in 250 BE resulted in a minor victory for Donum's side. Lands were conceded but it was not enough for a decisive blow. A 3 decade peace treaty was signed and Donum used that time to bolster the forces of his army. The second war began in 226 BE when Senexia finally decided to join Donum's new Imperium. This sent shockwaves to the Pact who immediately mobilised forces to invade Senexia and force it to capitulate. This became known as the Senexian War.

  •
  • The Senexian War ended in 195 BE after the battle of Umbra, again in the victory of Magnia. The Occuran pact was forced to cede more territories as well as confirm Donum's lordship over Senexia and its territories.

  •
  • The third war of unification, called the Novanian War, began in 78 BE as Donum commenced a large-scale invasion of Novania. This was the first war where the Magnians deployed human soldiers on a large scale, along with it elevating the rights of many humans, though the chain of command remained exclusively Elven. The war took thirty years to fully be realised before the combined forces of the pact were pushed back and most of Novania capitulated in 47 BE. Though the war was heavy, this time no peace treaty was sent or accord made as Donum was intent on a full conquest while the Fabrians and Fortians were equally bent to oppose Magnian Hegemony.

  •
  • The latter half of the first century BE was dubbed as the Fourth War of unification which was actually a continuation of the earlier Novanian war. Magnia slowly but surely managed to take out key positions from the Fabrians and Fortians, be they major cities, forts, and fortresses. By 12 BE, the Fabrians and Fortians were ousted from all their major cities as they continued to wage a weakening guerilla conflict from hidden villages, forts, and forests. However after a decade of these intermittent attacks, the conflict was put at an end as the Fortians and Fabrians mustered the last few thousands of their strength in what would later be called the Battle of the Sundered in 3 BE, the largest battle in Terradomian History up to that point. 4 thousand Fabrians and Fortians faced off against near-6,000 of Donum's soldiers, most of whom were the Inferi infantry. The battle was a decisive victory for Donum's forces as they had drove back the last of the Occurans. Only about half of the Occurans survived the battle with the rest of them being eitiher captured or killed. Rex Fidelis Vestas of Fabria and Rex Duenus of Fortia both died in the battle. Rex Fidelis died along with most of his family except the young Prince Fortunis. Rex Duenus only had his youngest daughter Februa to succeed him. The two managed to rally the survivors as well as their families and thus began the great Escape / Migration Eastwards towards the Great Forests and Woodlands of afar.

  • The Mythic Era

  •

  During the 1st Century AE:

  • Donum Caelus crowned himself Magnarex Aurigenae, or Great King of the Aurigens at the Grand Temple of Magia, thus declaring the Auregenian Empire.

  •
  • Donum spent the majority of his reign to strengthen his hold over the Auregen Peninsula and stabilise the war-torn land. He had moved many of the noble Elven families as well as many families of the Inferi to the Old cities of the Fortians and Fabrians.

  •
  • The Fabrian and Fortian survivors arrived in the great forests of what the Barbarian humans there called Silwos after 20 years of migration in 25 AE. It would later be called the Silvanian forests and the Elves would be known as the Silvanian elves. Fortunis married Februa and they would be known as the first Sovereigns of the Forests.

  •
  • The Great Rebuilding of Auregenia was oficially commenced in 10 AE and would be completed at around 90 AE. Donum oversaw the reconstruction of many war torn cities during this period.

  •
  • The Great Temple of Deirex, the Elven God-King of the Heavens, was completed in the 100th year of Donum's reign.

  •

  During the 2nd Century AE

  • Though Donum was ambitious in uniting the Elven realms of Auregenia, he had little interest let alone ambition to expand his realms any further than the boundaries of the Northern Senexian borders with the Obscurans, nor to the Western lands of the Beastmen tribes despite the Beastmen's previous alliances with the Fortians and Fabrians. Donum was concerned that an overextension of his realm would debilitate central control over the various provinces of his new state. Many of the Old Former Regnal Elven families were still extant and Donum remained cautious and skeptical of their loyalties throughout his reign. in 124 AE, Donum ordered for the construction of the massive Northern walls as a border against any more Obscuran raids. The great northern wall was completed in 159 AE.

  •
  • Donum established the Great Magus Arcaneum in Magia in 185 AE, the very first institution in Terradome for learning Magic and the Arcane arts. This institution would be one of the backbones for the learning of sciences throughout the Mythic Era.

  •

  During the 3rd Century AE

  • Though highly disinterested by further conquest, Donum was a great patron for the exploration of Terradome. He had commenced for the construction of two major harbors. One in the Southern Coast of Auria to aid in establishing a more comprehensive trade network westward and another in the northeastern coast to provide a more stable trade network with the Anthroi peoples as well as the then still largely mysterious Eurian Continent and the Rich States there. The first of the two Great Harbours, Marimagna, was finished in 218 AE.

  •
  • In 240 AE, Donum officially instated an early form of public education throughout his realm for the learning of basic language, writing, art, and music. However, these were still limited to the Auregenian and Meliomnian classes. The majority of the Inferi and Slave-peoples were barred from most forms of education and magic still, although Donum did make some strides to give the Inferi more rights than what they were afforded during the times of the city-states.

  During the 4th Century AE

  • The Early forms of seabound navigation allowed for Aurian ships to be designed which made for hugging the coastlines of Terradome in sea travel easier though ocean-bound travelling was still insanely difficult and not something to be done without the establishment of outposts dotted throughout the Anthroian city-states. The men of Anthroi were still considered superior seafarers and so too were the many trade ships from Euris. The first successful and direct ( without over-reliance of the Anthroian ports ) Elven voyage from Terradome to Eurus was in 340 AE and even then was more due to an accident as the ship was blown greatly off-course due to a freak storm as they luckily landed near the shores of Hilalia.

  •
  • By the late 300s, trade with the continent of Euris exploded to Auregenia and to a lesser extent the other southern Terradomian lands, notably to the many Obscuran tribes of the coasts and the Gaolians. The Nahlian coastal city-states as well as the maritime cities of the Anthroians along the Ornomos Peninsula, the island of Megnesos, and the Eosian Peninsula being the main players of the early bronze ocean trading.

  •

  During the 5th Century AE

  • Donum Caelus dies In 450 AE, aged 1250 years old shortly after he commenced the construction of a grand temple in Magnia. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Aurisius Meliomnes, who officially established the Meliomnian Dynasty which would continue to rule Auregenia for the next few millenia.

  •
  • In 457, Aurisius decreed for the first official codification of the Mythic origins of the Elven peoples. Though the Elven city-states had been united for 5 centuries already, they still lacked a formal sense of cultural unity and cohesion. To this effort and to varying degrees of success, Aurisius's reign would be remembered as one of Religious reform.

  •

  During the 6th Century AE

  • The Magisterium Divina was established in 550 AE as the Cult of the Dei was made the official religion of the Auregenian Realm. Though doctrines of theology would remain variant and sometimes not too much in uniform, a general sense of cohesion on spiritual matters were attained. The Origovita was adopted as the official Temple narrative for the creation of the world. The Magisterium officially incorporated the many ancestral deities of the Auregenian peoples and more or less established an accepted pantheon of Gods, with Deirex remaining the Chief Deity of the Elven peoples.

  •
  • The Great Temple of Magnia was finished in 550 AE and the Magisterium had officially announced the Deification of Donum Caelus as a Great Incarnation of Deirex and the Essentia Divina. The bloodline of the Meilomnes was declared divine and the title Deus Vita conferred to the Magnarex. The High-Priest of the Temple ( the Oradeum ) was established as an official Priestly office as Aurisius confered the title of Oradea to his daughter, Vitalia.

  •

  During the 7th Century AE

  • In the following century, the idea of Elven supremacy as a chosen and blessed race began to crystalise within Auregenia to the detriment of the human peoples living there as slaves as the Auregen views on the Inferi became evermore condescending, though this wasn't too present in the beginnings.

  •
  • Magnarex Aurisius passed in 662 AE aged 1306 years old. He was succeeded as Magnarex by his Eldest son Gratus Divinus.

  •

  During the 8th Century AE

  • The stability of the Magnarex's reign as well as the prosperous trade had caused a population surge. Gratus decreed for the foundation of several new settlements eastward around Marimagna and enroaching upon Anthroian territories.

  •
  • Magnarex Gratus died in 775 AE aged 1100 and was succeeded by his son Unitas Auris. Unitas would be the last Magnarex to be born before the unification of Aurigenia. It was in his reign in 797 AE that the Northern Trade fleets from Marimagna became heavily pirated by corsair fleets from the Anthroian cities to the edge of Ornomos. The corsairs did not disturb the fleets of the Western cities and this clearly showed the blatant hostility between Aurigenia and the Anthroians. This brought the Great ire of the Magnarex as Unitas would be the first to break Donum's precedent of non-aggression as he prepared the Auregenian armies for war.

  •

  During the 9th Century AE

  • In 803 AE, Magnarex Unitas officially declared war upon the Western Anthroian City-States chiefly marching a massive army of 2,000 Elven warriors and 5,000 Inferi levies upon Sunoikos. However, the Elven march was anticipated by the Anthroian cities as they met the Elven army with a host of nearly 10,000 men, gathered from other allied cities, with even a small contingent of elite warriors from the Megnesian Anthroians. In the battle of the Palean Field as it would be come to known, the overconfident Elven army was crushed bu the numerically superior and more well-trained Anthroian host despite the Anthroians being less unified, The Anthroians deployed sophisticated tactics and strategies compared to the Elven doctrine of simple line formations which hadn't been improved upon since the days of the unification war. The disciplined and heavy infantry of the Anthroian center made quick work of the Inferi lines which caused havoc on the lines of the more elite Elves. Though the Elven mages managed to do considerable damage to the relatively mundane Anthroian lines, the very rudimentary form of spells and incantations as well as their lack of power proved to be of little benefit when the ancient Anthroian Hoplites closed in from the flanks to melee. After a long day of battle, the Aurigenian army was routed. The Elves had lost several hundred of their numbers while the Inferi levies lost near two thousand. This in contrast with the coalition army whose losses counted for near a thousand in total and mostly from the ravages of the Elven mages. The battle was disastrous in that it costed the lives of both the Magnarex Unitas and his heir, Novisus.

  •
  • The remaining Elves were hurriedly gathered and regrouped under the command of Unitas's Eldest Grandson, Adaroris. The Elves expected for Adaroris to order a retreat back to Auria but Adaroris refused, merely feigning retreat through the rough terrain of Western Ornomos. Adaroris had sent for several of the fastest runners in his army to send a message bearing his grandfather's seal to trick the capital into sending more troops for an occupation. He ordered for the messengers to keep silent of the disastrous defeat against the Anthroians in order to prevent an internal crisis among the nobility and the populace. He had his scouts confirm that the Anthroians had begun a pursuit. Adaroris had ordered then for his army to prepare ambush positions in the hilly terrains that they made sure to lure the Anthroians into. He had forced his nobles and elite retainers to unload the bronze and some more precious riches and items and scatter them in good numbers along the road to give off the impression of being in a desperate retreat. He had utilised his Inferi soldiers to deal with any mana monsters or beasts or other such hostile animals within the area but made sure to have them give off the illusion that they were still in a desperate exit and being beleaguered by monsters. When the Anthroians had arrived at the hilly ridges, Adaroris who was observing from a secluded area noticed that their numbers (though considerable) were far less than what they had started with. It was then some of his scouts informed him that the men of Sunoikos proper had moved to return to their city. Hearing this news, Adaroris hesitated no longer as he had his officers blow their horns signalling the start of the ambush. The Elven mages had spent a good amount of their mana causing a rockslide upon the narow entrances of the hilly ridges which put the pursuers into a stupor. The Inferi came out to pin down the beleagured Anthroians who could not effectively reform their lines and utilise their superior battle formations. The more elite main elven soldiers made sure to target the weaker formations of the anthroians, making sure no survivors among them were left to mount a counter attack. The Inferi in their desperation also showed grit in dealing with the elite Anthroian warriors. After another fierce day-long battle, the Aurigenians avenged their recent defeat with an even greater victory. They had lost a considerable amount as well. Of the 2000 Elves that had originally arrive, near 700 had lost their lives. Worse off were the inferi levies who had lost near half of their numbers. However, the Aurigenians were still fielding a large army of just below 4800 men in total. Of the Anthroian soldiers, Adaroris had made it so that none of the force pursuing them were left to escape of the six thousand that had pursued them, they managed to slaughter five thousand men in that day-long battle while capturing a contingent of a thousand warriors under the command of Perdyos Arkiorothos, a Prince of the Heliana city state who agreed to submit to Aurigenia should he be given safe passage back to his lands.

  •
  • Adaroris utilised his newfound Anthroian assets to make for a special ploy to capture Sunoikos. He had placed the Helian contingent at the front of his army while he had his Inferi soldiers don the remaining good armor and apparel of the many fallen anthroian soldiers. In another act of cunning previously unheard of among the Elves, Adaroris took a gamble to have himself and a good number of Elven soldiers act as captured prisoners of war while a haul of treasures were carried over by multiple ox-carts. It took them a week to march right back to Sunoikos. The ploy managed to fool the Sunoikoi into allowing the soldiers into the city under the guise of a victorious march and a sharing of the spoils and the unassuming defenders were caught off guard. The two thousand strong Sunoikoi army was absent as most were farmer conscripts now returned to the fields while the main city guard only numbered into the few hundreds. The takeover of the city was brief and in an act of vengeance towards the Sunoikoi for the deaths of his father and grandfather, Adaroris had ordered for all the major noble families to be burnt to death, man, woman, and child. In order to counteract this act of cruelty, he had instated members of the minor nobles to positions of power and bequathed to them major assets from the noble families he put to death. The Elven army spent a few more months in the city to stabilise the situation and install reasonable taxes while Perdyos had requested aid from the Elves to seize power within Heliana.

  •
  • It was the early spring of 804 AE when reinforcements from Aurigenia arrived numbering a thousand more elves and two thousand more Inferi warriors. A massive number for a single state to wield at the time especially considering the earlier number of initial troops. Along with the arrival of the newer contingent was the Lady Albia Flosia Senexia, wife of Adaroris. Also came Canoluna the Oradea of the Aurigenian Temple and mother of Adaroris. Adaroris had secretly informed the main pillars of the Meliomnian dynasty of the deaths of his father and grandfather. In an austere ceremony in a grand temple of Sunoikos, Adaroris was crowned the New Magnarex Aurigenum. Unlike the hubris of his predecessors, he was bent on utilising all manner of pragmatism to put an end to the weakened Anthroian city-states. His first order of business was to enthrone Perdyos as a loyal vassal in Heliana.

  •
  • Adaroris split his army in two with the other commanded by his most trusted counselor and cousin, the Lord Verelonos Meliomnes. By 806 AE, Heliana had been secured as an autonomous vassal under the suzerainty of Aurigenia while the cities of Sunoikos and the newly conquered Giros whos armies had been crushed to heel in the Ambush of the Hills, were to be administered under the overseeing of Elven administrators and garissoned with veteran soldiers and mages. The Last city to put up a fight from among the cities of Western Ornomos was Monogenes. However it too fell to the hands of the elves by 808 AE after an impressive 2 year siege.

  •
  • Adaroris had finally been granted leeway to return to Auria proper in 810 AE where he was immediately reconfirmed as Magnarex in front of all the most prominent nobles of the burgeoning empire. The aquisition of the Great Port-city of Heliana ensured that Elven trade through the sea routes would be stabilised as its routes now had the protection of the Helian navy.

  •
  • In the following year, in 811 AE during a special ceremony at the Temple of Magnia, the late Magnarex Unitas and his son Novisus were reintered and apotheosized as Martyr-gods.

  •
  • Adaroris continued to encourage the repopulation of the Western Ornomian lands primarily by Elven families so as to slowly stabilise and reinforce the Elven population as to instill loyalty within the newly conquered cities. New temples were erected, and being deducated to the various Elven deities in the conquered lands and cities.

  •
  • Adaroris had ordered for Helian soldiers and officers to improve upon the main Aurigenian armies, more importantly the main Elven forces. However, the Elven soldiers were still apprehensive to learn from people they considered no better than the Inferi who were their slaves or at best third-class citizens.

  •
  • By 830 AE, most of the Remaining and most notable Anthroian city-states on the main Terradomian continent had gathered their leaders together to form a defensive front against the Aurigenians. They formed what would be known as the Ornomoi League, under the leadership of the most Prominent human city in Terradome at the time, Kennoptolis. The League was weary with outright declaring hostilities upon their new Elven neighbours as in response to this, the cities and Palatial strongholds of Megnemos have started to in turn grow weary against the Ornomoi League.

  •
  • In 833 AE, the League offered a peace and non-aggression pact to Aurigenia to which the Magnarex obliged. Adaroris knew that he needed to stabilise his gains and bide his time as he gained the upperhand.

  •
  • A controversy arose in 841 AE when the issue of humans in Auria who had greater magical talent and mana control than others of their kind. Adaroris wanted to make use of these Inferi-born magicians and train them alongside the Elven novices and apprentices at the Arcanum but most of the Elven elders and councillors vehemently refused for the lowly Inferi to gain the same education as their own heirs.

  •
  • By 844, a compromise was reached. Any Inferi that had been observed with more than average magical prowess will instead be strongly directed towards the army straight away and be taught by the 'lesser magicians' of the Anthroian peoples who were under the sovereign authority of the Magnarex.

  •

  By the 10th Century AE

  • By 901 AE, after three human generations among the Inferi, Aurigenia had developed a core Inferi Mage Corps of near 240 Mages. Wishing to test out the effectivity of his new mage corps, Adaroris finally decided to dip his hands into a shaky political situation amongst the Beast peoples of the West. An envoy from the Katalehoi tribe of Beastmen came beseeching the Aurians to help them in a war against their bitter rivals the Orzakur.

  •
  • The beastmen or ancient Gizakis as they called themselves were the peoples who had many shared features with the animals and beasts of the world depending on their tribes. While being the least talented race in terms of innate magical abilities in direct mana-manipulation, the beastman make up for it in the form of being the single-most formidable warriors of physique, having naturally stronger bodies as well as heightened senses. Because of their lack of perceived interest in culture, they had been looked down upon their neighbours as beasts, or anomalies of nature.

  • Adaroris had entered the frey when the last city of the Katalehoians, Hirilehoi, was being besieged by a large Orzakurian army, With Aurigenia's aid, the tide of war shifted greatly. A combination of tactics and superior magical support against the very tribal and 'primitive' levels. After a decade of conflict, the Orzakurians were the ones on the losing end of the fight. Finally in 912 AE, the Orzakurians were summarily handled and as per Elven tradition, a majority were enslaved by their new Elven masters.

  • Not wanting to waste the potential of the new Beastmen manpower, Adaroris again sanctioned for the creation of a new force of beastmen warriors composed of the raised young children of the Orzakurian slaves. By 946 AE, a force of 500 Beastmen warriors was formed under the name of the Consanguens (Dog-bloods). The Consanguens would be pivotal forevermore in the expansion of Aurigenian authority. Their ferocity was proven when an incident occured that would test the already shaky century-long peace between the Aurigenians and the Ornomoi League. Piracy had begun to re-emerge as a rampant problem on the northern Aurian coasts for the last few decades and tariffs in Ornomoi cities had increased thus increasing the prices of luxury valuables and making communication with the rest of the Eurisian continent increasingly difficult. Many of the Elven nobles who were veterans of the old Anthroian wars wanted Adaroris to immediately declare war fully believing that the Anthroians would once more be defeated. However, Adaroris who could still remember the initial shame of being so handily defeated by being caught-off guard and outmaneuvered strategically which cost him the lives of his father and grandfather opted for a more oblique and shrewd method.

  • In 947 AE, Adaroris had ordered for his Mage corps to infiltrate the minor city-states of the Ornomoi league and to establish themselves there with great rates of wealth along with other Aurian-aligned Anthroian agents who were taught to act like merchants and artisans from other League-affiiated cities. To this end, for a few decades prior, he had ordered the kidnapping of some Ornomoi peoples so that his own Anthroian forces could study and learn from them. Adaroris bided his time for nearly a quarter century while dealing with the pirates in the most brutal way imaginable, laying waste to countless 'pirate vessels' with use of powerful elemental magics by the Elven spellcasters. He once ordered for the pirates to be closely tailed and since the pirates could not reveal any form of affiliation with the League, they instead escaped to various small island ports and forts, all of which were hunted by the Elves with an unquenchable bood-thirst.

  • In 985, as preparations were near complete, Adaroris finally declared war upon the Ornomoi League.Nearly half a century was spent in the making of this calculated move as Adaroris' agents and their established assets managed to quickly put a stranglehold on most of the League-affiliated cities on the borders of the two states. Many cities chose to surrender peacefully and give tribute to the Elves as they were afforded the title of Custodii.

  • There no longer remained a single Free Anthroian city on the continent of Tirsa (Terradome) proper. Many of the more stubborn and prominent aristocratic families of Anthroians along with their retainers escaped onto the lands of Megnesos and Euris.
