The Sun was high in the sky when the town came into view. Huge stone walls enveloped a lot of simple buildings made out of wood and pster with thatched roofs. one of the buildings that looked like a temple or church stood out from the rest. It was at the highest point in the town, and was made out of wood and stone."So you pn to infiltrate the town! I couldn't think of a better strategy to find subordinates!" The annoying bug praised Nova.Nova rolled her eyes.
"We must hurry," Beornia said noticing Nova stopping to take in the sight from the top of the hill.Nova held Beornia's cloak around herself tighter before she started walking again. They had been walking all morning. The holy magic that Beornia infused into her feet protected them from the cobblestones, but they constantly burned Nova's poor feet. Her feet regenerated as quickly as they got burned. It wasn't long before they arrived at the gate. There were a few adventurers leaving the gate. They nodded at Beornia then continued on their way.
"Hey Beornia who is that young dy with you?" The guard at the gate asked."She was a caught up in a demon disaster. The whole suppression force was cursed by a very powerful succubus," Beornia responded."I will let you take her to the temple," The guard said forgoing the usual inspection.The other guard was already jogging from the gate into the city. He was probably going to alert the town militia.I hope I don't meet this powerful succubus. Wait they must be talking about me. I'm sorry pretty princess knight I'm the criminal you are looking for.
The main street led into a crowded market square. Nova tried her best to keep up with the brisk pace her companion set. She was breathless by the time they made it to the temple. Which was a very ornate building the stone pilrs fnking the doors were painted bck with red and blue rings in the middle. The doors were already open for the day. "We should lose the padin, and get as far away from that building as possible!" The annoying bug advised, pulling on Nova's ear. She just spped the annoying bug again. Why wont that thing leave me alone.
Beornia gently grabbed Nova's hand she looked back at Nova with her dazzling green eyes. "I'm okay," Nova said shyly looking away.Nova's guide shouldered her way through the people coming in and out of the temple. She quickly went through the naos of the temple, leading Nova down a series of passages.Hopefully we lost the bug. I would have trouble finding my way back out.
Beornia stopped in front of a door. Nova gasped in relief as Beornia dispelled the holy magic that protected her feet. The door creaked as Boernia quickly threw it open. Inside the room was a middle aged man sitting on a desk going over some documents."head priest, The whole suppression force was cursed!" Beornia decred to the already shocked man."...." The priest sat stunned for a moment. "have you no decency knock before entering a room!" the head priest yelled in exasperation."It's an emergency!" Beornia responded."you don't think I know that!" The head priest responded, as he vacated his chair. "find a room for that poor girl to rest in she looks exhausted," The head priest said in passing.Further in the temple was a room with many rge beds lining the walls. Each bed had a rge chest at its foot. Beornia took her cloak off of Nova. She helped Nova into a warm white nightgown."Thank you," Nova said with a tired smile."you can sleep here," Beornia said, as she tucked Nova into the bed with a bnket.She could tuck me in like that every night. Nova thought, as the bed's softness lulled her to sleep.
"Mistress allow me to summon all the priests left here one by one so you can make them your thralls!" Nova slowly woke up to an inane monologue. "Let me expin your powers to you first," The annoying bug said.That actually sounds useful since i'm a demon-lord I might have some power that can help me survive in this world

Illusion magic has a subcategory mind magic. you can use to read or influence unprotected minds. You can also execute rge scale illusion spells limited to how much erotic power you can expend on them..." The bug continued their monologue.I could potentially hide in a forest and never be found if I get into trouble. Magic does sound fun to use maybe if I try hard enough I can learn it. did that bug mention a lifespan at all. I hope i'm not immortal or something exhausting like that.
Nova wandered around the temple the back corridors where very spartan and based on utility rather than beauty. After a while of wandering she found herself back at the naos. The naos was a rge domed room. The sunlight came in through a hole in the dome illuminating the sun god with its rays. The sun god was very round and disc like he illuminated the whole naos with an inner light.
Another god was a young women in armor and holding a shield. Nova found herself drawn to her. "My mistress pays more attention to the evil maiden goddess. The one that resides over the breaking of curses and restoring the world to its natural state. She is so evil her padins must take a vow of celibacy to be granted her patronage. do not tarry by her shrine she might see you!" the annoying bug said apprehensively."goddess of maidens I offer my body and..." Nova got on both knees."what are you..." Nova reflexively spped the annoying bug before they could finish whispering in her ear."...and soul to you. I pledge to remain celibate for as long as I endure!" Nova finished her vow.A powerful golden light exploded the statue sending pieces of stone everywhere. The golden light all coalesced onto Nova's left breast painfully burning from her skin straight into her soul. Nova fell onto her face, losing consciousness.
