- Certainly, following you as our queen was the best decision we made. - said Anthalia, with a tone of reverence. Her voice was filled with confidence and, for a moment, I thought she really believed my words. It made me feel a responsibility that I wasn't quite ready to carry, but I still felt the need to fulfill that role.
It was just a normal thought, but at the same time, it made me reflect on the complexity of my situation. I knew Anthalia's original form well, so I didn't really care which one she appeared in. She seemed satisfied, and that was what mattered most at that moment.
Still, there was something curious. When she adopted this adorable form, her clothes didn't seem to keep up with the transformation. They tore, which could create an uncomfortable problem. Although I wasn't attached to luxury items, it wasn't desirable. An occasional makeover could result in a situation of unnecessary nudity, which wasn't ideal.
- Speaking of which, where are the others? Have their numbers dwindled for some reason? - I asked suspiciously, trying to figure out if there was something I should know.
- I told them to look around. We ants are used to making patrols when we move into a new pce, to make sure it's really safe for us. - replied Anthalia, her voice firm, as if she were giving an obvious expnation.
That made perfect sense. I was familiar with the idea of patrols, although in my old-world ants only appeared before me when I left something sugary for more than a day. They had remarkable survival skills, and now it seemed they were applying those same skills here.
It was impressive how, despite considering themselves an inferior species, they had managed to get by on their own so far. They were resilient, much more so than I had imagined. Sending out patrols to explore the environment was a smart move on Anthalia's part. She knew how to ensure the colony's safety and, in a way, that gave me a feeling of confidence.
I had to think about it. It was a good idea to ask the orcs to colborate with the vilge's security, perhaps working together with the ants. The union between the two species could create an efficient defense system, with the ants patrolling and the orcs helping to reinforce security.
What's more, the ants could have some kind of makeshift shelter while the orcs settled down next to them. This would make sense, given that both groups were somewhat adaptable, and this kind of interaction could strengthen the cohesion of the vilge.
However, one problem remained: clothing and housing. Both were a challenge for me at the moment. I wondered what could be done. The ants had an impressive ability to adapt, but what about the orcs? What about me? How could we move forward without these problems becoming insurmountable obstacles?
It was a complex dilemma, but somehow, I felt that we would find a solution. Perhaps we would need more time to get used to each other, but I knew one thing: we could count on each other, together we would be stronger.

Some time had passed since my awakening, and it seemed that the unexpected cooperation between the groups had brought... surprising results.
In front of me was a pile of food, an impressive variety: fresh fruit, vegetables and wild herbs that, for some reason, seemed to be carefully selected. There was also small game meat, which was being properly prepared, although the method of preparation left something to be desired. Still, their effort was visible, and I couldn't help but recognize the value of each one.
My eyes soon settled on a huge boar, a robust and ferocious creature, simir to the one that caused me so many difficulties when I first fell into this pce. Its strength was undeniable, and I knew that for the hunt to have been successful, something had changed. Gashdo-San mentioned that, with the help of the ants, it was now possible to send small groups to specific hunting spots, ensuring not only efficient transportation, but also extra hands to conquer the prey.
This banquet, prepared in such an impromptu way, was supposed to serve as a celebration of our victory, but everything happened so hastily that they didn't even have time to do it properly. The truth is that I suddenly bcked out, and chaos took over. I knew how vulnerable I was in this state of unconsciousness. However, I was in a protected pce, surrounded by loyal monsters, which minimized the risk.
When I woke up, a wave of gratitude washed over me. I thanked everyone involved for the feast, for their efforts. Despite my unconscious state, they had waited patiently for my orders. Gashdo-San, ever cautious, acted strategically, gathering the orcs to protect the group. Meanwhile, Anthalia coordinated the ant patrols, a true demonstration of teamwork.
An interesting change came about as a result of the ants and orcs joining forces. Some of the ants, now in tune with the orcs, have developed a unique ability to communicate: a kind of Mind Link. Although most ants had a limited ability to speak, telepathy made them more effective in their communication. This ability, once restricted to the anthill, now extended to the orcs, facilitating the hunt and providing unprecedented coordination.
My Mental Link with Anthalia, the strongest so far, was also strengthening. It was an advantage I knew I could use, having appointed her to coordinate the ants. The brute strength of the orcs, combined with the dexterity and coordination of the ants, created a surprising combination that, at least for now, seemed to work.
However, I couldn't help worrying about the amount of food we had. It was a lot of food, no doubt a clear sign that the hunt had been successful, but that could be a problem. I was beginning to ponder something bigger. What would happen when resources started to run out? What if the combination of two species ended up destroying the ecosystem that sustained us all? It was a legitimate concern, and I knew I needed to think about more sustainable solutions.
Cultivation was an idea that came to mind. Although I wasn't an expert, I knew the basics. I had learned enough about agriculture in my school years, history lessons and even home economics. I never imagined that this knowledge would be useful in a context like this, but here it was, becoming an urgent necessity. Perhaps I should teach the people around me about cultivation so that they could, perhaps, create a more banced production system.
But for now, I decided to just enjoy the celebration. The bonfire lit up the night, and everyone danced around it, with the younger ones running from one side to the other, infected with joy. The party seemed endless, but by the end, everyone was exhausted. Except me.
After three days of deep rest, my energy was renewed, almost too much. I had to admit: sometimes life surprises me. I never imagined that dying to understand the importance of a good night's sleep would be part of my journey.
