Glossary - Card List

< Chapter # : indicates the approximate chapter count at which there are no spoilers.

Some details are subject to change. I'm trying to balance the level of detail provided to what Jack has independently deciphered about his own cards, but hasn't necessarily been explicitly stated in the text. I've been working on the assumption that him working out the math is not super interesting to people.

  < Chapter 10: Card One

  Text to speech/Audio Description:

An informational card depicting a paper cutout of an athletic figure engaging in a dynamic and acrobatic back-flip. Curving arrows surround his body indicating axes of rotation.

  Card text:

  Card Name: Pivot

  Play Limit: None Found.

  Duration: 3.6 Seconds.

Effect: Ability to freely rotate self on any axis around a central point in the body. Vertical Axis at a maximum of 10 revolutions/second. Saggital and Frontal axes at a maximum of 3 revolutions/second, increases to a maximum of 8.4 when curling body up.

Warning: Requires use of Vital Flow to avoid disorientation due to rapid movement.

  < Chapter 10: Card Two

  Text to speech/Audio Description:

An informational card depicting a paper cutout of an anatomically correct heart.

  Card Text:

  Card Name: Vital Flow

  Play Limit: None Found.

  Duration: 30 minutes.

Effect: Eliminates or reduces strain from force of acceleration on body, seems specific to movement of bodily fluids. Can be replayed to extend duration up to a maximum of 12 hours.

Warning: Strictly necessary for use with Gotcha Dash. Recommended for use with Pivot.

  < Chapter 10: Card Three

  Text to speech/Audio Description:

An informational card depicting a paper cutout of an athletic figure falling in midair, their pose evokes a sense of panic.

  Card Text:

  Card Name: Unnamed Dash

  Play Limit: None Found.

Duration: 5 minutes. Ends when terminal velocity is reached, or striking a solid object. Charges do not stack.

  Gravity’s Pull/Safe-Dash Distance:

  Upright: 15 times gravity / 27 meters

  Dive: 30 times gravity / 13 meters

Side Recline: 23 times gravity / 18 meters

Dorsal Flop: 38 times gravity / 4 meters

Ventral Flop: 48 times gravity / 3 meters

Effect: Provides two available charges when played. Each charge accelerates user downward. Strength of acceleration is dependent on orientation, specifically greater resilience to force of acceleration increases rate of acceleration. Holding actives charges provides a sense of final position if charge is used.

Warning: If played without Vital Flow, critical harm to circulatory system is incurred. If effect ends in midair all momentum is retained, producing a likely lethal outcome.

  < Chapter 35: Card Four

  Card Art In Progress

  Card Name: Momentum Eater

Card Text: A meta-card, this card interacts with other cards which have effects that dissipate momentum. The momentum is instead ‘eaten’ by this card’s effect, and can be released at will to instantly return to the same relative velocity. Currently, only Gotcha Dash has such an interaction.

  < Chapter 40: Card Five

  Card Art in Progress

  Card Name: Enhance

Card Text: Meta Card. When played before another card, noticeably enhances the effect of the next card played. Individual effects vary. If a card is not played before the hand cycles, the Enhance effect is lost until it is played again.

  Enhanced Pivot/Pivot+ (Chapter 36 spoilers)

As of Chapter 36: Pivot usually has a limited ability to incorporate held objects into its effect, with the ability attenuating with distance and mass.

The usual formula is something like (d^2)*(m) < a. Where ‘d’ is distance from Jack’s centre of mass, and ‘m’ is the weight of the object, and ‘a’ is a constant value.

  Pivot+ alters the formula to d*m < a.

  Enhanced Momentum Eater/Momentum Eater+ (Chapter 31 spoilers)

As of Chapter 31: Rather than generating a single charge of momentum from Momentum Eater’s effect, instead two are generated.

  Enhanced Gotcha Dash/Gotcha Dash+ (Chapter 38 spoilers)

As of Chapter 38: Doubles the max speed of the dash, temporarily exceeding terminal velocity until the new limit is reached, 112 m/s for dorsal fall, 180 m/s for dive. Increases the range of the dash-shadow significantly, as the dash will go on for much longer.

  Enhanced Vital Flow/Vital Flow+ (Chapter 38 spoilers)

As of Chapter 38: Increases the protective effect of Vital Flow. Because Gotcha Dash determines it’s acceleration based on Jack’s tolerance, it subsequently increases his acceleration. Amount appears to be 1.5 times baseline. Because the acceleration is faster, terminal velocity is reached more quickly and so becomes more dangerous.
